Isn’t this a surprise, trousers, in the form of a culotte, and wearing yellow! I’ve never found yellow to be a pretty color. And black and yellow was for me always a very ugly combination. The football club from my hometown wears black/yellow so I always associated the colours with that club. I thought yellow and white was super ugly. Those are the colors of an egg! And there’s something nasty about an egg……only not when I’m in England and I get it on a plate with fried bread, tomato and bacon! But…..well you already felt it coming of course. I am wearing a black, yellow and white outfit! I think this is a lovely combination!
How I wear my yellow culotte
I started with the culotte. I’m still a fan of those kind of trousers. I remember when I bought my first culotte years ago. Couldn’t get used to it. But I liked them so much on others and I love cropped trousers, but I didn’t feel good in a culotte myself. Until I gave it another chance and bought this pied de poule culotte and I fell in love with them. And when I saw this yellow one, I decided to give it a shot. These culottes are high waisted and very comfortable. Perfect to wear a cropped tee on it.
Yellow culottes, perfect for summer
I also saw a very nice top in black and thought: I just order it and I’ll see if it works together for me. The top is actually something I didn’t wear anymore, because first of all I really like symetry and this neckline is uneven. It’s also off shoulder which actually annoys the hell out of me. And there are hardly any sleeves on and I have very ugly upper arms. And you know what! I just don’t care. (not today anyway) I think it’s a beautiful top and I love the combination with the culotte. Life is too short to care about anything. (look who’s talking….)
Then I added this gorgeous blazer. My first intention was to wear a black blazer, but no I stepped out of my comfort zone here. This one is from Zara and you might have seen it before. Blazers by Zara have a perfect cut! I am very happy with this black yellow and white combination and I also wear the culotte with a white tee and white sneakers and not feeling like a egg at all. I am very curious how you think these colours look on me.
