Couldn’t say no to this gorgeous silk skirt. A week or two before Christmas I ordered this tulle skirt because my old one was worn out. It had holes! And a woman must have a tulle skirt, right? I certainly do! And what did my eye spot on that site? Exactly, a very beautiful skirt. How could I resist it? Not! But it is black so I am sure I will wear it a lot.
Size up for a tulle or silk skirt
Sometime in December I read on a blog, I don’t remember which one, you should actually buy a tulle skirt one size bigger. I did that for the tulle skirt and for the this one. For silk is certainly not forgiving. And you don’t want to see anything that you are wearing in the skirt. It was the right decision for both skirts, because they don’t pinch and draw anywhere. Thank you for the tip who ever you were!
Purple and black
After Christmas, Gerben and I even went to Arnhem to buy some sweaters for Gerben and when we walked back to the exit of the store my eye fell on this sweater! What a color! And it has a nice photo print on it. Wonderfully warm too. In order to no longer bore you with my lilac boots, I wear these underneath. These boots really feel like you are wearing slippers. Amazing. (we did buy a few sweaters for Gerben you know….)
A silk skirt is not only to be styled with a blazer and heels. If you want to wear it more casual, just add a sweater and some cowboy boots or biker boots and you can wear it any day. It was very cold, I see it in my face! I am wearing black tassel earrings, but I don’t wear them again. It’s not my style and I think they are actually a bit to long.
Shop the silk skirt outfit!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
Love the silk skirt paired with the sweater! SO chic, Nancy!
Thank you very much Vanessa!
Great tip about sizing up. You’ll definitely get a lot of wear from that gorgeous skirt!
Yes I know I will be wearing it a lot this summer!
Such a sweet post Nancy…plus I also wear silk skirts in Winter 😉
I am so glad yo did not resist that beautiful skirt – what a find! You’ll wear it forever! I love the styling here with the great booties and graphic sweater! I love silk – must feel like a dream on!
You don’t feel it at all! It’s like you forgot to put on buttoms!
the biased silk skirt has definitely been on my mind this season! especially paired with a chunky knit…you styled this outfit out perfectly!
Thank you very much Eva!
That is a good tip about sizing up especially with silk! I need to try wearing sweaters more with skirts, I do agree with the earrings being quite long, that could be quite bothersome.
Yes, and I didn’t even like them! Thanks Mireille!
You look amazing Nancy. I love you style it with this jumper. Great!
Both in purple Tina!
Thank you for the tip on taking a size up with silk and tulle. I’d never have thought of that. I guess it works equally with all non-stretch fabrics, too. Love the silk skirt on you, and how you are wearing it casually paired with that fabulous purple jumper! xxx
Well I had a tulle skirt in my own size and because the elastic waistband is so thight, it looks like I had a huge belly with all that tulle. So when another blogger mentioned to size up I thought, that makes sence.
The sweater is so fun! I don’t believe I’ve seen one with a print on it like this.
It’s from a Dutch store!
Totally in love with that sweater! Purple rules!
Beautiful sweater! I love the sweater on you.

I just love that skirt Nancy. And that was smart to size up. You could probably wear it under other skirts too (like a sheer one) because it’s so lightweight.
That’s a good idea! Havn’t thought of that yet. Thanks Jodie!
What a geourgeous skirt! Love it, how you paired it with the lilac sweater and the cool boots. You look amazing, dear Nancy!
Love this deep purple on you Nancy and those buckled booties are so cool! I love the skirt and want to wear a silky slip dress with a sweater over top or a tee underneath… the skirt looks wonderful
thanks for linking!
Thank you very much Jess!
Awesome outfit! I love that shade of purple. But I have never seen a sweater with a photo on it! Fascinating. Another winner, Nancy!
Thank you very much Michelle!
This is a nice reminder to try different pairings in our wardrobes – thanks, Nancy! Gawd, I love those boots! So fun!
Those boots are really amazing! They feel unbelievable comfortable!
Lovely skirt Nancy, love how you have styled it 🙂 Thanks for joining us at The Wednesday Link Up.
I love the colour of your jumper, and it really suits you. Fabulous skirt too! Thanks for linking up!
That silk skirt is super chic! Love it, and easy to style with almost anything.

Nancy, I absolutely love this outfit! This deep shade of purple looks amazing on you. And I love the little graphic on the sweater. Such a gorgeous skirt, too. And I love the edginess of opaque tights and booties with it. This might be one of my favorite outfits of yours ever!
Really? I did like the outfit in my head. But when I saw the photos I didn’t like it that much!!
Always fun and stylish Nancy. I love how the skirt wears on your shape.
I love the silk skirt with a sweater. You look fab. But you are right about the fact that silk isn’t forgiving. That is why I don’t wear it. It is a good idea to buy one size bigger. And maybe some shapewear to smooth everything up. o)
Oh definitely shapewear!
