So, if you’re feeling like your hairstyle is in need of a makeover and you’re ready for a change, look no further than this list. Here, some of the top hairstyle trends we’ll be seeing everywhere this year.

The ‘60s are back – in the form of a hairstyle, that is! Even though the decade of teased crowns, side bangs, and baby bangs is long gone now. Brands like Veronica Beard are reviving these hair trends. Many of its gorgeous models walking down the runway sporting the hairstyles worn during the hippie era.

Channel your free spirit by rocking the ultra-feminine French twist, teasing at the root and the crown. You can finally take the courage to get those baby bangs you’ve always wanted! Side bangs are not as loud and a good alternative to micro baby bangs if you’re not into them. Nevertheless, whichever ‘60s hairdo you decide to go for, you’re sure to look groovy.

The bedhead look

It seems like someone took Queen Bey’s lyrics “I woke up like this” seriously and decided to hit the streets rocking the bedhead look. Seriously though, the trend is catching on. This je ne sais quoi look gives us some serious hair envy.  It’s totally doable in just a couple of seconds.

Instead of aiming for perfection, let your hair air dry so it retains a bit of fuzz (just the right amount). Alternatively, consider relying on a trusty flat iron to create a dent that will give you that messy, effortlessly chic look. A dry texturizer can be of great help if you want to achieve that beachy, laid-back look. Even if there’s no beach in sight.

Go big or go home

Judging by their massive popularity in recent years, hair accessories such as scrunchies will continue to reign supreme in 2020. Go big or go home seems to be the motto this year. Jumbo scrunchies are expected to show up in every trendy girl’s bag.

Hair extensions are another trend that’s going to continue in 2020. Adding volume and length where needed. If you’re growing out your natural hair but want to try on a look that requires some hair length, you can get seamless clip in hair extensions. You can easily apply it and rock a longer hairdo. Celebs like Chrissy Teigen are known for their love of clip-ins and are seen experimenting with different hair lengths quite often. So, if you’re feeling like changing something about your hair but don’t want a drastic update such as dyeing your hair a different color, hair extensions are the way to go.

Bob – a timeless pick

If you were planning on making a significant change and going for a chop, 2020 is the time to go for it. Whether you prefer a blunt bob, are in love with a choppy, feathery do, or are more attracted to the one-length version, bob is one of the hottest hair trends we’ll be following in 2020. For a good reason, too.

It’s chic. It’s timeless. It’s perfect for framing the fac. As long as the type of bob haircut you choose goes with your face shape, it’s sure to make your best features stand out even more.

Messy bun – quick and fun

They’re convenient, they’re super-easy to make, and they look so cool when worn with a chic outfit. We’re talking about buns, especially ‘messy’ buns. Whether you like to wear yours high, low, double or half up half down, all you need are elastic bands. And some bobby pins to make them.

Up for twisted half-up topknots? Why not? When you’re running late, there’s only so many hairstyles you can make in just a couple of minutes. Any type of buns will work. Remember, the messier they are the better. Thanks to fashion gods, channeling your inner model has never been easier!

Whether you’re looking for some hair inspo or browsing for the hottest hair accessories for 2020, the new year is bringing a bunch of hair trends we’ll be rocking throughout the year. From revivals of classic, vintage dos to the cool and effortlessly chic messy hairstyles, the hair trends predicted by fashion and beauty forecasters are sure to fit in with a range of fashion styles and aesthetics. This makes me want to grow my hair again. Needless to say it’s not thick and never looks as good as I want it to, LOL

That messy bun video was excellent! I have grown my hair out in recent years and love to wear it up every so often, but I didn’t know how to do it properly. I’m really excited to try some of these techniques out – after I buy some bobby pins.

FYI for other readers, I have mostly white-grey hair (processed/dyed pastel pink), and I use texturizer/beach spray to give my hair enough oomph to get in a bun.

    Nancy, thank you!

Cute styles! I was cool before bed head was cool! I never do anything with my hair except wash it, then let it dry naturally. It’s so thick doing much with it is a huge chore.

Lots of great hairstyle options! I have spent years trying to grow out my hair so I could wear long pigtails and braids but I usually end up in a messy bun or a total bed head look! Well, I guess it’s at least on trend. Thanks for linking up!
