Some weeks ago, Shelbee wrote a post about Shein clothing. That’s an online shop, I think from China, that sells cheap trendy clothes. Now I tell you about my Shein experience. I often see that site pop up on blogs and had been curious about it for a while. I once ordered earrings and belts from Shein, but never clothing. You often know that with Chinese companies the sizes are completely wrong and that it doesn’t look good quality wise. But hey, I do like a bargain every now and then. So I took the splash and ordered two dresses.
My Shein experience.
It took about two weeks before I received them, I think that is a week to long. At first glance they really didn’t disappoint me. This one is a bit thinner, the other one was a bit softer and thicker. But today I’m showing this brown blue one. The size is perfect! Now you can measure the sizes yourself and then see which one suits you best. I would definitely do that and not just order the size you always have. Although I ordered both dresses in my own size.
I am very happy with this Shein experience dress. I like the print, the colors are nice and the fit is just right. Actually, I have nothing negative to say about this dress. I wear it with a nice warm cardigan and a belt to create some waist. Although that somehow never works out well for me. Because I want to wear the belt a little lower actually.
( 1/3-2/3, the ,,rule,, is that if you want a good balance with your outfit, you should wear 1/3 on the top and 2/3 at the bottom. If I wear the belt higher, my upper body is to short and my lower body to long. But if I devide my body in 1/3-2/3 I need to wear my belts a bit lower then my waist.
But……the waistline of this dress is higher, so I needed to wear the belt higher. Or no belt at all, but I wanted a blue touch there. So there you have it….rules are meant to be broken!
Cheap dress experience, but I like it a lot.
I wear it with new suède boots in a cognac color. I really like this combination, the colors blue and brown anyway. And I will definitely wear this dress a lot! I still need to wear the other dress, have tried it on for a few seconds to see if the size was right. But I am looking forward to style the other one. I think I will order again some sweaters because my Shein experience wasn’t bad at all.
But what about the cheap ones, bad for the environment, bad quality materials, cheap labor and so on. Yes, I find that quite difficult. On the one hand, I am looking more and better at whether I want to buy something second-hand or new. I also look more closely at the materials used when I buy something new. But I just have to admit that sometimes I just want a lot. Many different dresses, sweaters in all colors. And yes, then I’m guilty of shopping at stores where maybe you shouldn’t buy. Does it help if I say that I’m at least thinking more and more about it? Do you have a Shein experience?
