Why do I think this grey skirt is a sporty skirt! Can a skirt be sporty anyway? Yes of course it can. But I never wear a sporty look. Unless I go for a bicycle ride. But then it is simply adapted to the weather and being on the bicycle. I don’t look stylish when I cycle! At all! And when I wear my sneakers, I wear a feminine skirt or dress or maybe trousers, but certainly not in a sporty way. But somehow I like this sporty look.
*At the beginning of September we have two weeks of vacation and I only post then on Fridays. But if someone would like to write a guest post for my blog, with a link to your own blog of course, I would really appreciate that. This idea is not my own, I saw it on Carrie’s blog Curly Crafty Mom.
Grey sporty skirt
I love a high low hem line. On skirts and dresses. The skirt is therefore elegant, youthful and frivolous! And gray with white is a wonderful combination. Very fresh and sporty. The skirt has an elastic waistband. That wears so comfortable, I always hate it when I feel my clothes pinche, and this is so easy to wear.
Well, the term sporty look doesn’t really make sense with this outfit, except for the colors, because I don’t see myself exercising in these clothes yet. In addition, this skirt is not suitable for cycling at all. Way too long and too wide. I’ve already cycled with this skirt 1 time and was watching the whole time whether it ended up in the spokes. I already had my shoe laces once in my wheel….
This is actually my only grey skirt
The pink top is quite old but I think it looks so nice with the grey and white. I was allowed to choose three items from Angel Clementine and this jacket attracted me straight away. I am a sucker for golden details. I love black and gold, especially clothes with gold buttons. You really should check the site, they sell beautiful items. I thought this jacket was a perfect addition to this outfit, colorwise and style wise. As a contrast with the sneakers.
I never thought I would love wearing sneakers so much. But I like them with almost everything. So nice, because it is of course a lot easier then wearing heels. And I used to wear heels all the time! But I get out of breath now when I wear heels, so they have to be my sitting shoes. What do you think about this sporty grey skirt outfit?
I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!

I am a fan of low and hi hems, too! I feel it gives you a little more coverage in the back, which I like, yet it still shows some leg!!

Thanks Gail!
Dear Nancy, this is a sporty, but still feminine and classy look. The skirt is definitely not suitable for cycling. Like you, I feel that I’ve been wearing sneakers a lot lately, which I couldn’t imagine before. But they are so comfortable and when you combine them properly they can look very chic too. Love the pink top and the jacket too. You look great again!

Nancy, this is such a great outfit! I really like this skirt and it looks so great with your cute sneakers. Pink, gray, and black is such a wonderful color combination, too. I have caught my laces in the bicycle spokes before and it wasn’t pretty when I flew ass over handlebars and hit the pavement! Haha So please be careful, my friend! Also, I would LOVE to guest post for you in September!

I loved this skirt instantly when I saw it on instagram this week! I love the hem of it and it looks really great with the sneakers! I have a jersey skirt (more of a long pencil skirt) that I should try this look!

THanks , I loved it too immediately when I saw it for the first time! It’s a skirt I will be wearing a lot!
I’d never cycle in a skirt either, but I think the hi-low hem would create even more problems 🙂 Not sure what is sporty about the look, but perhaps that is just me … Although I don’t think I’ve got much grey in my wardrobe either, I’m loving grey paired with pink, and the jacket and belt is giving it some edge. xxx P.S. Will you be going to the UK in September?

The sneakers are the sporty part Ann, and me of course, hahaha. No I don’t think so, we decide at the end of this week!
Nancy this is a lovely skirt, and I can see you wearing this lots through-out the seasons. Have a super weekend and thanks for hosting the linkup party. Jacqui x

Nancy,
This is a marvelous outfit with so many fun and fabulous details. That jacket was a brilliant choice. Wearing trainers for everyday looks is one of the best trends going and I hope it stays around for a very long time. Who wants to wear uncomfortable shoes when there are other options?

Indeed! But if you had told me that 20 years ago…..lol.
Hi, Nancy – I love that skirt: it looks soft, swingy and comfortable and obviously will go with so many things. Since you dressed up this look a little with the knit jacket, it’s less sporty and more an anthleisure go-anywhere look. You have made it totally your own. So good! Thanks for sharing this look and delving into exploring it as well – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Thank you very much for your lovely comment Angie!
Such a pretty outfit, Nancy – it’s both soft and tough, which I like. Good call on the jacket, which adds that rock & roll edge to the look. I’m also a fan of uneven hems .
Do you know the coin/elastic trick for wearing skirts while biking? You put the coin on the back of the skirt, between your legs, then pull it through to the front and loop an elastic around it (a hair elastic works). It creates “legs” in the skirt and keeps the fullness from getting caught in the chain. My cycling friends swear by this when wearing full skirts.
Thanks so much for the link-up, Nancy! Have a wonderful weekend!

Oh my goodness, that is a idea! I am going to try that next time we cycle! Thanks Sheila!

Admired this skirt on IG. Love the way it moves – so light and airy. I like gold details, too. And those tennies are so blingy with their gold details. Catherine looks like an angel on a cloud in her pretty skirt.

So cute! This reminds me of a 50’s style outfit with the longer skirt, tennis shoes, and sweater. I absolutely love that fashion era! I ordered a dress in that style, then got the petticoat to go under it, and I plan on ordering a lot more! Thanks for sharing on Traffic Jam Weekend at LifeasaLEOWife.com!

Oh of course! A petticoat underneath! Want to try it straight away!
I love skirts and sneakers together! This outfit is so cute and sporty!
