I don’t like frayed trousers at all, but I really love this frayed top. Of course in black and also with black combat trousers underneath. I think you will see a lot of black outfits from me this fall, just like the past six months. And the years before I think….. And I know that the hole world likes to see colours, but I love black. I also know that it is not easy to take good photo’s of black clothing, is that Gerben’s fault or the black clothing?, but I hope you see the details good enough.
Frayed top with a bit of sheer
But isn’t this frayed top nice? At first I thought: maybe I would have liked it better if it had been a bit more fitted. Now there is a strap, that comes along with the top, in the same fabric to tie it around your waist. And it’s actually much more fun, and normally I don’t like those straps at all. The top is a bit sheer so that makes it a bit more stylish. You see the combat trousers everywhere now, but this one is already a few years old. As well as the gun metal boots.
I first wanted to order kakhi combat trousers until I realized that I had a black one. And that’s often the case with me. Then you see something from the new collection and think: oh yes, I want one of those too. And then you already have it, Maybe in a different color or a slightly different design, but the principle is the same. So why buy a new item that is slightly different right.
Contrast with sheer and fraying
With the gun metal ankle boots I thought the grey super lightweight earrings matches perfectly. I am wearing a black ring that I bought in the cutest shop in the lanes in Brighton called Bou jewellery. A very lovely lady owns the shop and makes the jewellery herself. I wished I bought more. On the other hand, I can now save up for next time! Gosh, I love Brighton! What do you think of my frayed top? It will look good on jeans…….the one I have in my cart for a month now and is expensive and they won’t reduce it!!!

I LOVE the frayed top, Nancy. I used to have a cream one like that, that I adored – it eventually kept fraying and then yellowed, so I moved it along, but your black top is one I would have in my closet (so you can just ship that over to me, my dear friend! ha!).
Thank you so much for the link–party! Have a great weekend.

I will bring it over one day love! Lol.
I’m okay with the torn knees on jeans but I don’t like the frayed/ripped ends at all. However, I am loving this frayed top! It pairs so beautifully with those pants too.

Very cool top! Iβm with you on not liking frayed jeans. (Nor do I like jeans with holes.) But this top is fun. And yes, black is very hard to photograph.

I think I have heard a similar frayed treatment called eyelashes on some sweaters I have been admiring this season. Very pretty. Gives the blouse a great texture and I think makes it even more feminine and delicate. Great job, Gerben, photographing all the black. I rarely wear black but you wear it so well that it makes me want to add more to my wardrobe. You don’t look at all harsh in black like some gals can look. Love your lush locks and the way they frame your face.
