Well if something does sound boring then it is gray brown and black together. But ….. it can of course also be transformed into a great mix! And do boring colors exist anyway? If you were to wear all these colors together in the same fabric, viscose for example, it would probably look super dull. But use different textures and throw a leopard in and you have a great outfit! Unfortunately I did not come up with this look myself, I would like that I did. I stole this look from Michelle Tyler. A woman with a great sense of style and a big mouth. Love it!
How to wear boring colors
I told you a while ago that I have not yet shown my faux leather skirt on the blog. And I’ve had it for years! Well I went to check later and I did have photos of it. So I already showed that skirt once but then on the other part of the blog that is not visible. Here I have another photo of the skirt. I love this skirt. I just never wear it at home. Faux leather on a white leather couch is not such a good idea.
If you want to wear a monochrome look, or colors that could be boring together, it’s a good idea to wear different textures. Then the outfit becomes more interesting. I am wearing a faux leather skirt, a wool cardigan, a viscose blouse and suede boots. A lot of textures that work very well together. Wearing a print also contributes to a look that otherwise could be boring. I am only wearing my gold colored loops and I belted the cardigan for a more tailored look.
What accessories to wear with grey, brown and black
I don’ t wear a lot of accessories with this outfit. Because all the different textures are more then enough or me. But I do wear my beloved golden loops. I also wear a snakeprint clutch for fun. So there you see, I am a copy cat as you already could have seen last Saturday. Shelbee and I celebrated our anniversary of our series! 3 Years of ,,working,, together! And we live about 10.000 kilometers apart! Isn’t it fun!
Shop the boring colors look!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I love your mix of neutrals here, Nancy! The addition of the leopard really elevates the entire look.

It does, and that is the glue for those colors!
Totally agree. This is so sophisticated and subtle. Sometimes that is all that it takes for a look to go from boring to interesting. xo Sabina

Oh thanks but I look often boring. Haha, but in my eyes it’s just clean and stylish! Lol.
I just love the title of this post and it is SO true. That chunky knit sweater looks so cozy and I love the texture it adds to this outfit. And, a pop of leopard is always fun!

Yes a bit of balloon sleeves, like that too!
You are so wise. It is all how you pair things and accessorize. I would never have paired brown with black or gray until recently. That whole matchy-matchy thing was a big rule for me. Black with black, brown with brown. Never the two shall meet!!
Love this sophisticated look. Sassy enough for date night. Conservative enough for work wear. You have such a great sense of style, my friend.

Well it wasn’t me who styled this in the first place! Lol, but thank you anyway!
This all neutrals look is very interesting. The cardigan coat is perfect for winter to spring transition. But isn’t it a little bit too cold for the windy Netherlands. Or was this one of the few calm days? Love the look. Thanks for hosting the party and sharing your great look at my party.

Oh but I wear a coat over this cardigan when I go out! But it isn’t really winter this season, more autumn all the time. Thanks Nicole!
I totally adore the mix of grey and leopard in this look Nancy! The belt is the perfect accessory to make it flattering.
