Bird Print Blouse & Scuba Skirt

bird print blouse outfit

Almost forgot about my scuba skirt! I love this skirt. I have never been a person who loved prints, let alone bird prints. Until I started blogging. Then I found out that always wearing black can be very boring. To others that is, I still love to wear black clothing. But I also love to wear color and prints now. And even mixed prints. Bird prints are one of my favorites. If I ever get a tattoo it would be of a bird. But I don’t think I will get one ever…

Wearing a Peter Pan collar for the first timered espadrilles and scuba skirt

Fun thing is that however I love bird prints, I only have two or three items with that print. Perhaps I don’t want to be known as that bird girl… The blouse has a Peter Pan collar and a loop with an opening at the back. And a three-quarter trumpet sleeve. A trumpet sleeve is very nice but only if it is a three-quarter sleeve. Otherwise you will get that sleeve dirty! At least I do. The bird print blouse is pre loved from the brand I used to work for. I recently bought a lot of that brand pre loved. And I thought I had bought about everything there when I worked for them!

Scuba skirt, or neopreen as you likeneopreen skirt or scuba skirt

Today I wear a skirt made of scuba material, or neopreen. You know, the material they make surf suits of. Ideal for skirts and dresses because it does not crease at all. No matter how much you try. Also neopreen skirts and dresses will be very kind to your belly area! This skirt has a split at the front but there is a piece of fabric in between. So when you sit down, it’s not like you’re suddenly in your underpants. The waistband and belt are stitched with white yarn which gives the skirt a playful effect. It reminds me of pop art.

I added some red accessories and red espadrilles that match the bird print blouse. But my red ankle boots would look good too. The red also appears in the bird’s beak. My age-old red bracelet that is now really getting ugly, a red statement ring and big gold colored earrings. I have just updated my nails and repainted because a visit to the nail stylist is not yet possible. I filed them and now the half is my real nail and the other half is the acrylic one. It looks pretty okay.bird print and black skirt

I love all the red accents and that skirt has a really fun shape! I really do not have many printed tops: most of mine or one color but I do have a few printed bottoms. I guess I find them less versatile for myself.

Once again I love the pattern of your shirt (I loved the cats too). I think when I ever go thrifting again I must look out for some funky animal patterns like these. Is neoprene very hot?

Oh, I’m in love with that blouse, Nancy! And it looks amazing with the scuba skirt and the red accents. I have a bird print blouse too, it might very well be from the same brand (Steps) as your blouse reminds me a bit of mine, even if it is quite different. Not sure if I’m making sense 🙂 xxx

The bird print blouse is so pretty and it’s very nice the way you styled it with the skirt, which by-the-way is fab. You look very stylish! So I was right in thinking that you would not get a tattoo. haha

The blouse is very pretty, love the black and white print with an accent of red beaks, very cute. I don’t have anything in scuba fabric but I know of it because my husband does scuba diving. Nevertheless, like the cut of the skirt, the wide belt and the asymmetrical split add a sense of ellegance

What a cute combo. I think bird tops would be a little bit hard to find. And, I never see scuba fabric!

Love the bird print blouse with Peter Pan collar! The skirt is perfect for traveling because it doesn’t crease.

I love the bird print! I have a bird tattoo on my hip – I had it done in my teens. I have two others and would like a fox too but my husband isn’t keen!

That’s cool! I wanted swallows on my chest, but now I want a flower and a bird on my wrist, but Gerben doesn’t like it so I probably wont!

That blouse has a GREAT print – I like that you echoed the red bits in it with your accessories and shoes, nails too! The skirt is awesome – I have a lot of black skirts because the details can be so good, like that white stitching. I’d wear this!

Nancy, what a fabulous print on your blouse! You know I am terrified of birds but I do love a good bird print, too! I have a navy blue bird print blouse that I found second hand that I need to style soon. It’s been hanging in my closet unworn for about year! Your whole outfit is so great. Thanks for linking up, my friend.
