The kimono style is really a American thing I guess! When spring spreads her first warm days, I see them everywhere with my US fashion blogger friends. I said it before, here in the Netherlands it’s nowhere to be seen.
Stylish Monday is created out of a Facebook group of Life and Style bloggers. Every month we interpret a theme in our own way, fashionable wise of course. It’s a fun way to be creative with clothing and accessories. And to see how other women interpret a theme chosen by someone else. It is a fabulous fashionable way to create something beautiful with other bloggers.
My Kimono Style
Luckily Shelbee and I did a kimono theme at The Good Buy/Good Bye Book a few months ago and…..I bought a dress in that style. That one I will show you soon! Stupid thing is that when we did that theme, I typed kimonon all the time in stead of kimono. And I do the exact same thing with this post! What is it with that word?
So I am wearing a wrap dress and styled it as a kimono. And I am wearing it on a jeans like a lot of my US bloggers friends do. This bright red dress with lovely print and colors suits very well. But let’s take a look at what my friends are wearing.
Take a look at my dear fashion blogger friends!
Andrea of Pearls and Pantsuits
I love to dress up my graphic tees by adding a fun kimono, like this leopard print one, to the mix.
Emma of Style Splash
This kimono is actually a beach cover-up, but as I’m not going on holiday any time soon, I decided to wear it over a top and trousers instead.
Julie of Fashion Trends and Friends
My kimono is reversible and can be styled so many ways with many different colors! I love the ease of styling a kimono; and they’re flattering on all body types!
Michele of see_chelestyles
My white kimono I Thrifted it I tied the ends for a different way to wear it.
Cindy of Middle Sister Style
I bought this kimono at a boutique in Blue Ridge, Georgia several tears ago. I love the soft, feminine colors.
Suzanne of Ask Suzanne Bell
Changing times have inspired me to change up my wardrobe. A switch up to a jacket or cardigan, I find I’m living in kimonos these days. The kimono I’m wearing can be worn multiple ways; tying her in the front as I did here, adds shape. The kimono belt doubles as a head wrap!
Nina of Sharing a Journey
I’m veering off kimonos this week because I styled a kimono three ways last month when we shared florals, I’ll share a special link for that!, And because It’s BLOG-A-VERSARY MONTH at Sharing A Journey! We have give-a-ways of my favorite things, gift cards and you can also grab My Free Picnic Planner with social distancing tips from Erin Bromage.
Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood
Late Spring is a great season to transfer and transition your kimonos into Summer. And that’s exactly what I did. A Beautiful Japanese-inspired Floral Silk Kimono over a simple White Tank Top. Accessorized with a little soft mustard yellow via my March Fisher Espadrille Wedges & Loft Sunglasses.
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
Now let’s start a fashionable party!

Thanks Andy! I always have fun with this group!
It is the perfect answer. Don’t have a kimono. Use a button dress….. love it.

Yes, or a wrap dress!
Although, I like all the kimono outfits, I love love love your vivid red kimono and boots paired with blue jeans! Well done! It’s a fabulous look. I am behind in the kimono trend. Here in Las Vegas, we are hot for much of the year. We hit 100 F (38 C) a week ago and can expect temperatures to above that until the end of the September. It’s really only cold here from the end of November to mid February. And by cold, I mean 50 F (10 C) in the daytime. Our cool weather wardrobes are typically smaller than our summer wardrobes. That said, I think I need to add a few kimonos! Pinning your look!

Thanks Michelle! Your weather sounds like heaven to me!
What a brilliant idea to style that dress as a kimono! It’s got such a lovely colour and print, and works really well with denim, I think. And you’ve just reminded me of the pre-loved kimono I found at a charity shop last year. Now where did I put it? xxx
