How to style a ballerina dress and not look like a 12 year old? But first this:
Can I afford to buy some more dresses?
I like to make an overview at the beginning of the year with the expenditures that we expect that year. I mean the big things then. Things we want to purchase from savings. I always estimate how much we can save for that year. Well there is never always a balance in that, the scales always lean a little. But I’m pretty strict about that. I can spend very well, but I also like to save well. And every year it is the same at the beginning of the year. There are always unforeseen expenses.
First the health insurance must be paid, which is provided but very expensive. The car has to be serviced and before that time there is always something, now the lighting is not working on one side. Last week the bathroom mirror broke. A lit and heated one, therefore not cheap either. And they broke into our garage and took all the garden tools. All expensive and only purchased last year. And many of Gerben’s special tools have been stolen. You can never replace it. All extra costs that I really dislike. Well, the scales will lean even further.
So could I even afford this ballerina dress? Haha, I’ll take a newspaper district. Lol. Just kidding. But it is annoying! On to the essence of my blog: my outfit!
Ballerina dress with cool boots
And you thought you would see me in a tutu today! Haha, isn’t this print just gorgeous! This is another pre loved dress from one of my favorite brands. From the store where I used to work. I can blindly trust that the fit and size are always good. How cute is this ballerina dress. But of course a bit contrasting styled of course. I can’t find a good translation for cool. Google says to be tough or sturdy, but I don’t think those the right words are they? What is another word for cool?
The dress is very dark green, which was a surprise because I thought it was black. Green is better. I have had the jacket for years and fits perfectly with this dress! I already showed you this jacket last Monday. Completely happy with this outfit! Love these boots and the belt with it. That color makes it look cool for me. Whatever dress I wear, adding such color boots and belt makes the outfit look cool. The earrings are also very old, I think I bought them with this jacket. But they are the perfect shades of green.

Sweet friend, that dress is even better because it is green and because it isn’t a tutu…which would not be terribly practical!! How I love that print! I have some scrapbook paper that is a ballerina print in very pale lemon. I would love to have a dress made out of the print on that paper. Will check out the linked dresses you shared.
You look so slender and stylish. So smart to pair the dress with the cute jacket. The cognac boots and belt are great accessories. Just a fabulous look.

Thanks Leslie! Sadly the links do not have a ballerina dress. This is from a Dutch company that I can’t add.
We can never have too many dresses Nancy! This mixes in with the tan accessories so well. I always admire your dresses xx

All those little expenses that pop up are certainly a pain. I know what you mean. But I do like your ballerina dress! That jacket is the perfect shade to wear with it, such a flattering style on you pretty lady!

Nancy,
What a whimsical print! I don’t I’ve ever seen a dress with ballerinas on it before!
It reminds me of my linen pants with tiny cocktails embroidered on them!
You need a little bit of whimsy in today’s global stress over the virus!

Nancy, this dress is amazing! I love the color and the ballerina print and your denim jacket is so perfect with it. I am stunned that someone broke into your garage and stole your garden tools. What is wrong with people these days?! But at least you look cute! Have a great weekend, my friend.

I love your ballerina dress and am glad it is green and not black, too. You are so right about the belt and boots adding a cool factor. Isn’t it amazing how expenses add up and you think you plan so well and something unexpected happens? So, so sorry you had all of those items stolen from you.
I love the belt and boots with this. And what a fun print on your dress.

Ooh, I love that dress Nancy! That’s such a funky print and I love that it’s green. That dark green is especially gorgeous. I can well understand you’re please with this outfit, as it’s just perfect: the jacket, the belt and boots and those earrings, I love it all. xxx
Nancy, you are a better gal than I with doing such a good job budgeting. I’m sorry about the break-in–those events are very upsetting. Your dress, however, is adorable! I love that print on the green and the cognac boots and belt are the perfect contrast!! Have a great weekend, my friend.

Yes I know what you mean. It’s when we least expect it when there are those little expenses that add up. I am sorry about your husband’s tools though and the break-ins. That’s just terrible but glad that you and hubby are safe. I love your new dress. The ballerina print is perfect and unique – wonderful find Nancy!
