For the series The thrifty Six it was my turn to choose a theme, a few months ago, and I wanted to show this dress again so I chose Fools Gold. I’m having so much trouble styling this golden dress. Or maybe it’s just that this dress doesn’t suit me. But I like it so much. Why is this dress working against me so much? Please tell me…
- I am very sorry that I haven’t been posting and commenting reguarly for the last three weeks. I had to make some changes because of my health. If you want to know more you can email me, but for now I just leave it like that here on the blog. I am going to post less, only the Friday’s and my monthly series. And sometimes another post if I feel like it, but I stopped with Throwback Tuesday. Not because I want to, I need to. We all treasure our blogs and we all are very passionate about it. But I have to think about my health.
Why do I want to wear a golden dress!
I’ve always loved gold. Quite early in puberty, I preferred wearing gold jewelry to silver. Silver has never been my thing. I also love clothes with gold in it, or a gold jacket or cardigan or something like that. You may know my golden ankle boots, I love them. I also once had golden sneakers and a gold colored jacket. Fantastic!
So this dress immediately attracted me. Although I have to say that I would have liked a little more gold thread in it, in real it is also a bit more gold then it showes in the photos. And I love everything about this dress, the sleeves, the neckline, the lenght. But then the styling part!
How to wear a golden dress?
I had already worn this golden dress here with a jacket with gold thread in it. And those golden ankle boots. I think it’s a nice outfit, but it’s just not it. So I tried it this time with a off white blazer and my beloved white boots. I don’t think it looks great. In my eyes it’s okay.
The boots are fabulous, they look great underneath. But the blazer, no I don’t believe in it. I’ll just keep trying with this golden dress, going to wear it again with white sneakers. Or perhaps wear it as a skirt with a golden top over it? Maybe I’ll say yes(to the golden dress) to that!
The necklace gives me a sort of 70s feel, love it on a v-neck top or dress. And I adore this white statement ring. I like to pop out my sleeves underneath a blazer or cardigan. The clutch is a very old one I bought in Hastings at New Look. I want to go to Hastings!! Sorry, missing the UK a lot!
