White Boots, Groovy! & Fancy Friday linkup

olive green shirt dress and white boots

I thought really hard and long about these groovy white boots, but I finally bought them! Okay, today another outfit that I am not completely fond of myself. It’s really awful, but since I’ve had the color analysis and followed Lonneke’s masterclass, I don’t like much in my closet anymore.

Groovy white bootswhite high boots with heel

Well I have to say that I never thought a shirt dress looked that great on me. I do not know why. In itself there is nothing wrong with this outfit, but the color of the dress is just too weak for me. It needs to be a little deeper. But what about the groovy white boots!! I absolutely love them! When I ordered them I thought, I hope they are not too white actually. Because then you get that brass band feeling again. And the site said they were white. So when I unpacked them I was very pleasantly surprised.

Be critical about your clothes….and buy white boots…leather jacket on a shirt dress

I liked white, or actually off white boots for a long time, but didn’t know if I would wear them a lot. But these really go with everything! And I also got a discount, well that was a bonus! But the olive shirt dress has to go. The fun thing is, when you had a color analysis that you start looking more critical at your items. Or I just bought a hole lot to impulsive, I think it’s the latter.

Lonneke Nootenboom’s masterclass is on IG and is all about basics and keypieces. So I had to change up my closets and now I have to buy a lot of basics! Lol. Oh, I can find any excuse to shop!groovy white boots

I have always wanted a tall pair of white boots. Maybe this is the year to make that dream come true. Of course, I love all of your olive and those fun, colorful earrings, too. I ordered an olive shirt dress several years ago and when it arrived, it was a tiny bit short and a tiny bit tight. I kept it for the day when I lost those magic 5 pounds. Finally thrifted it, and then, wouldn’t you know it, I lost the weight!!

I was mesmerised by the dress how it looked so fantastic with the tights and jacket – so innovative. Funny how things come around again. For decades, white footwear was a no-no, now it’s a yes-yes

I love your groovy white boots! I considered a pair for myself in passing. I am considering reworking my closet too. But I haven’t quite pinned down the criteria for pruning and replacing yet.

Oh my word, Nancy, these boots are freaking fabulous! I have 4 pairs of white booties, but no tall ones. I was hesitant about the tall white boots when I started seeing them last year, but now I am really loving them! I want a pair! And your earrings are magnificent! I like this outfit on you, too. I like to wear shirt dresses as duster jackets more than as dresses because the style often does not flatter me. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

I have a hard time with shirt dresses too! I know what you are saying about color: since your post, I am thinking more about that before I purchase an item: even if I haven’t don a color analysis I have a pretty good idea about colors and tones just don’t do anything for me. Have fun shopping!

You’re going to have so much funs styling those boots. I agree that the green dress isn’t the best color on you. Yes, time to shop! I’m going to look at your color analysis post–I got behind on my blog reading!!

Those white boots are amazing, and I totally see why you had to have them. They wouldn’t be for me, though, I think they would last about 5 minutes before they got ruined 🙂 I’m hearing you on the outfit. There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever, but I think stronger colours look much better on you, whatever your colour analysis says! The earrings do give it a bit of welcome colour and are absolutely stunning! xxx

The color analysis said that this was a to soft color. But I already had this dress. But there is also a thing with shirt dresses and me, just don’t like them!

  15. 30th October 2020 / 16:24

Love those white boots! I bought white ankle boots last winter and they go with everything, I nearly wore them all the time! Now I am looking at your full length white boots……

Girl…you and I are on the same wavelength. I just bought some white taller boots at Goodwill (secondhand). And it’s good to evaluate things on their color now that you have a good idea of what makes you glow and what doesn’t.

The boots are awesome, although not entirely to my taste – maybe I just need to get used to seeing them!? I have to agree with you on the dress – it’s rather boring, Nancy. That’s a very blah colour (agreed, a more intense olive green would look better), and there’s just no visual interest for me. Your earrings really perk this up – what about a colourful scarf at your neck?

Thank you so much for the link-up party! I’ll be joining you shortly. Have a wonderful weekend, my dear!
