I thought really hard and long about these groovy white boots, but I finally bought them! Okay, today another outfit that I am not completely fond of myself. It’s really awful, but since I’ve had the color analysis and followed Lonneke’s masterclass, I don’t like much in my closet anymore.
Groovy white boots
Well I have to say that I never thought a shirt dress looked that great on me. I do not know why. In itself there is nothing wrong with this outfit, but the color of the dress is just too weak for me. It needs to be a little deeper. But what about the groovy white boots!! I absolutely love them! When I ordered them I thought, I hope they are not too white actually. Because then you get that brass band feeling again. And the site said they were white. So when I unpacked them I was very pleasantly surprised.
Be critical about your clothes….and buy white boots…
I liked white, or actually off white boots for a long time, but didn’t know if I would wear them a lot. But these really go with everything! And I also got a discount, well that was a bonus! But the olive shirt dress has to go. The fun thing is, when you had a color analysis that you start looking more critical at your items. Or I just bought a hole lot to impulsive, I think it’s the latter.
Lonneke Nootenboom’s masterclass is on IG and is all about basics and keypieces. So I had to change up my closets and now I have to buy a lot of basics! Lol. Oh, I can find any excuse to shop!
Shop the groovy white boots look!

Ohh, I just adore those white boots on you! And, I DO like the olive coloring of this shirt dress… which, you totally make me want to get a shirt dress now, it looks so comfy yet chic!
Thank you very much Carrie!
I have always wanted a tall pair of white boots. Maybe this is the year to make that dream come true. Of course, I love all of your olive and those fun, colorful earrings, too. I ordered an olive shirt dress several years ago and when it arrived, it was a tiny bit short and a tiny bit tight. I kept it for the day when I lost those magic 5 pounds. Finally thrifted it, and then, wouldn’t you know it, I lost the weight!!
Haha, that is carma! What a fun story.
I was mesmerised by the dress how it looked so fantastic with the tights and jacket – so innovative. Funny how things come around again. For decades, white footwear was a no-no, now it’s a yes-yes
Exactly, and it never felt good to me either. But I just fell in love with these boots!
They are fun boots and I really like the shirt dress! but fi you’re not enjoying it definitely better to let it go 🙂
Thanks for the link up 🙂
Hope that you are having a good week! 🙂
Thanks Mica, enjoy your weekend!
I love your groovy white boots! I considered a pair for myself in passing. I am considering reworking my closet too. But I haven’t quite pinned down the criteria for pruning and replacing yet.
I first had all the skirts and trousers together, all the dress etc. But now I have a much better overview! Basics and keypieces apart from each other!
I think the white boots are a great idea! Can’t wait to see all the fun ways you wear them! Have a super weekend!
Thanks Kellyann, have a great weekend!
I know what you’re saying, as you do look good in rich dark colours, but you still look fab in the dress. The boots are amazing btw, and very very you! Have a lovely weekend x
Thanks Penny! Have a great weekend!
I totally agree Nancy. Some white boots just look cheap I think. These being off white just look so much classier xx
Thanks, yes I am very happy with these!
I love those boots and those earrings! I think this dress looks great on you and while the color may not be in your rage when paired with the dark jacket it does seem to work beautifully.
Thank you very much!
Your boots are amazing Nancy! I would love a pair. I think of Austin Powers when you say groovy. Lol! Thanks for the link up!
Exactly! That’s what I was thinking about!
Oh my word, Nancy, these boots are freaking fabulous! I have 4 pairs of white booties, but no tall ones. I was hesitant about the tall white boots when I started seeing them last year, but now I am really loving them! I want a pair! And your earrings are magnificent! I like this outfit on you, too. I like to wear shirt dresses as duster jackets more than as dresses because the style often does not flatter me. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.
Thank you very much dear friend! Have a great weekend!
Your white boots are fabulous and I love the groovy vibes! Also loving your earrings! Have a wonderful weekend!

I have a hard time with shirt dresses too! I know what you are saying about color: since your post, I am thinking more about that before I purchase an item: even if I haven’t don a color analysis I have a pretty good idea about colors and tones just don’t do anything for me. Have fun shopping!
Yes, that way we buy a lot better!
This is a great outfit. I really love those white boots 🙂
You’re going to have so much funs styling those boots. I agree that the green dress isn’t the best color on you. Yes, time to shop! I’m going to look at your color analysis post–I got behind on my blog reading!!
That would be nice Kim!
Those white boots are amazing, and I totally see why you had to have them. They wouldn’t be for me, though, I think they would last about 5 minutes before they got ruined 🙂 I’m hearing you on the outfit. There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever, but I think stronger colours look much better on you, whatever your colour analysis says! The earrings do give it a bit of welcome colour and are absolutely stunning! xxx
The color analysis said that this was a to soft color. But I already had this dress. But there is also a thing with shirt dresses and me, just don’t like them!
Love those white boots! I bought white ankle boots last winter and they go with everything, I nearly wore them all the time! Now I am looking at your full length white boots……
Haha, I know Gail! YOLO!
LOVE the white boots! Groovy indeed!!
Thanks Dawn Lucy!
I love your white boots. Your outfit is amazing and you are lookng very good.
Thank you very much Birgit!
Ah white boots. You rock them Nancy!
Those boots are super fab! Have an amazing weekend!
Girl…you and I are on the same wavelength. I just bought some white taller boots at Goodwill (secondhand). And it’s good to evaluate things on their color now that you have a good idea of what makes you glow and what doesn’t.
Indeed! Would love to see your boots Jodie!
I have been on the hunt for a great pair of up to the knee white boots!!! YOurs are terrific- and you look so good styling them xx
Thank you very much Lucy!
The boots are awesome, although not entirely to my taste – maybe I just need to get used to seeing them!? I have to agree with you on the dress – it’s rather boring, Nancy. That’s a very blah colour (agreed, a more intense olive green would look better), and there’s just no visual interest for me. Your earrings really perk this up – what about a colourful scarf at your neck?
Thank you so much for the link-up party! I’ll be joining you shortly. Have a wonderful weekend, my dear!
Yes, boring is the word. No, not even a scarf will make the outfit look good. I already sold the dress!
super cute shirt dress and love those boots!
Hi Nancy!! Those boots are the grooviest!! I look the dress you’ve styled along with them!! Fun photos!!
Thank you very much Barbie!
These boots are fabulous on you, Nancy! I can’t wait to see all of the ways you style them!
I hope you are having a great week!

I actually really like that shirtdress style on you, Nancy! But I can see how deeper colors might be even more flattering. And YES–those BOOTS!! They are so cool. I am envious of your amazing boot wardrobe and those are so darn cute! Happy weekend!
Haha, yes I have quit a few! Thanks Darlene!
I love the boots and I know what you mean about how you feel about your wardrobe after a colour analysis. I was the same.
Haha, and did you change a lot Hilda?
I do like the color sage, like it is hear and the additional color with your earrings. THose boots look great on you! I have a pair of cream white from a few years ago. I never had a color analysis but know I love warm tones on myself.
Yes you know exactly what colors look good on you!
The white boots are so lovely. White boots are so in fashion right now. Nice styling.
Thank you for the link-up
Thanks Melody, I subscribed to your blog but don’t get any mails. Maybe I am in your spambox.
I am loving those fabulous white boots! They are too cute on you!
Thank you very much Laura!
I love those boots Nancy! I’d been looking for some long white boots for a while but couldn’t find any, but I found some in an off-white/cream shade so I bought those instead. I like the shirt dress on you, you’ve brightened up the dark colour palette with those fabulous earrings!
Thank you very much Emma! Aren’t you much happier with the off white ones? I am actually glad they aren’t white!
Nancy, those boots are fantastic. I have been pondering getting some but just made up my mind recently. Because they are really spectacular. Thank you for hosting! xo Sabina
Thank you very much Sabina!
I also have a pair of knee-high boots that I was on the fence about at first, but now love. And thank you for reminding me to wear them—love how you’ve paired yours with a longer dress!

I agree, I think the outfit might be a little more successful if the dress were a deeper shade of green. But I absolutely LOVE the groovy gogo boots!!
Miles of smiles,
Thanks Grace, yes they are good hey!
