There is a double mix in this outfit! Prints, and vintage & new! Both items I choose from Mary 5. Before I started blogging, I almost only wore plain clothes. No prints, at most a dash or a polka dot once, but it didn’t get any further than that for me. I just like a simple clean look. But…..yes there is always a but, in the course of my blogging life I learned to appreciate the prints more and more.
Vintage and new.
In fact, I’m a big fan of print mixing. That doesn’t mean I wear prints often though. I still like a plain outfit. But when I do wear prints, I like to wear them on top of each other. Learned from other bloggers. My favorite prints to mix are the stripe and the polka dot, but also the stripe and a floral print. For a collaboration with Mary5 I was allowed to choose two items and I immediately fell in love with the cardigan. Not my style at all.
I mean have you ever seen me wearing so many colors in one outfit? But this really seems like a cardigan that you can enjoy so much all spring. Because it can be worn on anything and those colors just make you happy. The cardigan is new, the skirt is vintage. In my eyes such a polks dot skirt is so very joyfull! I can wear it with a red top in summer! (not that I have a red top….oeps) I think the boots and belt add a bit of coolness and casualness, is that a word? I am wearing a very colorful ring that fits perfectly with the cardigan.
Vintage clothing from Mary 5.
On the Mary5 site you will generally find vintage and handmade items, but also a few new ones. So there is a choice for everyone. Run by Mary Wu, an avid fashionista who believes there is much more creativity in handmade clothing. Well it is! And in pre loved items too. We all think better about what we buy, don’t we?
And buying pre-loved clothes is a great choice! I never would have thought that I like second hand clothing so much as I do now. I don’t buy trousers and shoes second hand though, that’s a step to far for me. Does that make sence at all?? Thank you Mary for this great collaboration and I wish you a lot of success with your beautiful company!

Mixing prints could be tricky but you mastered so well Nancy :). I love the mix of polka dots with stripes and then your coat kind of rounded it all up in one nice looking outfit. Enjoy your weekend

Like your adventurous pattern mixing! I hardly ever wore patterns either, and prefer polka dots or stripes if I’m going to wear a pattern. Your jumper is so cheerful and bright.

Thank you very much Gail!
I do like your colourful stripes with the polka dots. I am also not really too much of a pattern girl either. Wishing you all the very best for your upcoming procedure and hospital stay Nancy.

such a cute outfit! I absolutely LOVE the top, it looks great and brightens up the day (which is very important for me during the colder season). I like the mix of polka dots and a bright sweater and I am pretty sure I will steal it for my next outfit

Thanks! That is very kind!
Would never think of wearing spots and stripes together but it looks fab! The lovely bright stripes allow the navy spot to look almost like a neutral, very clever. Good luck and love for next week Nancy.

Oh my gosh, Nancy, this might be my favorite outfit ever that you have worn! That sweater is marvelous and ever so happy! And I love the bold mix of stripes and dots. The brown accessories look really great with it, too. I am going to check Mary 5! Fun stuff! I will keep you in my thoughts next week! Sending you lots of positive energy for your procedure!

I love the exuberant print mix, and the cognac belt/boots tie in beautifully with the orange stripe and your hair color. Just terrific!
Love your joyful mix of wide rainbow stripes and polka dots! The sweater is so cheerful winter-it put a smile on my face. The big flower shaped buttons are such a nice touch, too. Hope everything goes well for your surgery, I will be thinking of you and sending positive healing energy. Take care!

Thank you very much Di! I appreciate that and I will feel the energy!
Ohh, stripes AND polka dots! And, so vibrant! I love how you can add the coat to mute the overall look and give it a more neutral feel with a pop of color underneath, or without the coat it is all vibrant and cheery galore! And, I love that belt! I need to start using belts again!

Haha, you only need what you want to love!
Oh my goodness, good luck with your valve work, Nancy! Sending you good vibes!
I love your pattern-mixing here – you really can’t go wrong with a stripe and a dot together. I like that you’re mixing new and second-hand here too and supporting/collaborating with a one-woman business. Although I don’t shop online (I need to touch things), if I did, this would be how I’d buy.
I like the cardigan – it reminds me of rainbow tops that were hugely popular when I was around 13 years old (back in 1980-1). The polka-dot skirt will go with EVERYTHING. I’d like to see it with bright yellow, or orange – even the purple blazer from your suit would look fabulous with it. Of course, red will be stunning, but that’s so predictable. 🙂
Thank you so much for the link-party – adding my Tsarina outfit from my Mom-Day Adventure!

I agree that red is to predictable, that blazer is a good option, or brown!
Sending you prayers and healing thoughts for your procedure.
And look at you go Nancy. Your color print mixing is absolutely fabulous and I love it!!

Oh, Nancy…sending prayers for a quick recovery and healing! I love this outfit so much! It just may be my favorite! There’s something about polka dots that make me happy. And, that sweater…you are right…it is joyful and springy. The belt is really a wonderful accessory!
I hadn’t realized you didn’t like prints that much…I will be paying better attention from now on!

Thank you very much Marsha. Well, I do like prints but not on me that much.
Nancy, I adore this outfit! It look great on you. (And yes, I was a bit surprised with all of the color.) The print mixing is on point.
I think I’m addicted to second hand shopping. I purchased 9 – yes 9 – from Poshmark today. The seller was having a huge sale.
