Do I wear a vest or a jacket on a tunic with faux leather leggings. I am not a tunic girl but as I told before, but I love my faux leather leggings. And you know it, leggings are no trousers. So I need a tunic for that. I only have one, a total black one. So when I was contacted by Eva trends to choose some items, I knew there has to be a tunic in their collection for me. But I also wanted to wear my denim vest on it!
Pre loved vest and jacket
And what would I wear over the tunic? I purchased this vest a few weeks ago, it’s pre loved. It’s denim with striped and dotted ruffles. I don’t think I have ever worn a vest before. It’s not my ,,thing,,. Not my style. But sometimes it looks so good on others that I thought: Let’s give it a try.
On the other hand I also love jackets. And this one is also a pre loved one, I think it has never been worn. Perfect black! I love the military look of the jacket. Perfect for my love of contrasts in a outfit! So I totally had in mind to show you the tunic with only the vest. But you can guess what happened! It didn’t look as good as I though it would. Then I changed in the jacket and Gerben said that the jacket looked better then the vest. Damn, I wanted to wear the vest!
Give me some vest inspiration!
So I still am going to show you both and let you decide. You see, now I am thinking, I am not a girl to wear a vest. But it is such a lovely one and I do want to wear it. So please give me some inspiration of how to wear the denim vest! I will show you what I did with your tips! Btw, when this shoot was ready we got into our car to go see a friend and I noticed that the leggings were completely cracked at my thighs. So no suggestions with this leggings please, because I do not have this one anymore……

This tunic is really unique. I like how it combines a pattern on one side of it. So fun!

I think both look good Nancy. Together or apart. The vest would look great with a long sleeve T too. You have the figure for it! xx

Thank you very much Laurie!
You chose a great piece and i love the edgy style on you Nancy!!

That tunic is fab…I love Eva Trends! I think the vest is a great addition; the long/short mix is perfect. I often throw a denim vest over a sundress or tank top once it warms up outside.

Nancy, I am loving both looks and that tunic really is fun and unique. The military style jacket is totally my thing, too! And that vest is so fun. I am picturing the vest over a fit and flare style dress in a solid color to allow the details on the vest to pop more. I think any sleeve length on the dress would work, long sleeve, short sleeve, or no sleeve. Fit and flare dresses look so great on you, too, so I think you will find that you might be a vest girl after all when paired that way!

Whoa, you are one hip chick today! That mismatched tunic combined with ruffle denim vest…and those leggings with the boots! Gerben is a lucky guy! Let him take you for a drink in this outfit!

I love both on you. I think though the jacket has nice detail with buttons and gives it that extra Nancy touch.

I love that jacket too but not on the tunic.
I love the tunic over your leggings. It looks edgy and chic. I think I have one tunic that’s olive green. I may try this look. Thanks Nancy!

Thanks Chrissy!
Hello sweet lady! I just had the same conversation this week that I’m not a vest person! I may be in the minority, but I really like the vest over your tunic. I would have bought that one, too, with all of those details. The tunic is so fun with contrasting front panels.
Author
I love this vest too but not on the tunic. I think I will wear it with a black dress!
That is such a great tunic! I love it with the vest and leggings!

Thanks Amy!
Both ways you styled this tunic are so pretty. I am always a little more partial to edgy looks, so
I LOVE the denim vest look!

I have to say I like the first look better as it is more monotone and the proportions looks better. I do like the denim vest on its own though 🙂

I really love both looks, the varying lengths of the jackets/vests with your tunic and long leather pants makes it so interesting! Love the military jacket and the ruffles of the vest, so cute!

Both look cool, and I wear a denim vest in the summer either with a sun dress or flowy skirt with a strappy top. I prefer the look of the denim vest without sleeves under in summer. The jacket, the vest and the tunic are really cool pieces. Lise

Thanks love! I will try it with a dress!
I think you are dealing with a real luxury problem here Nancy, when you want to decide between these two looks. It’s choosing between good and good in my view. I think you have to reconsider your opinion on tunics to start with, since this one is just amazing and the way you have styled it (twice) pimps up the look even more. I think I personally prefer the playful combination with the denim vest. Love, Lieske
Author
Haha, you are absolutely right about the tunic. It’s just not my cup of tea. But I love that vest very much!
I have to say I agree with Gerben. I think it’s because the colours are more in keeping.
Still you should wear what you like. When did we listen to the husbands.
Author
Hahahaha, I can hear you say that! So funny!
You’ve got such great legs, Nancy, and you really rock those faux leather leggings. I’m not a tunic girl either, but then again I haven’t got the figure for leggings … Anyway, my favourite is the military style jacket! xxx
Author
Fab jacket right! I am also not a tunic girl, I actually think there is something a bit frumpy about it.
I’ve never thought to wear a longer tunic with a shorter vest or jacket—great styling trick, Nancy, and both options look really fresh!

Thank you very much dear Cheryl!
That’s really weird that your leggings cracked. I love mine I hope they don’t do the same. I guess it’s because they are plastic.
I used to wear vests all the time when I was a full time artist but do it less now. I used to wear mine with jeans or a maxi skirt. I don’t think either of those would be your cup of tea ; P
The tunic is pretty cool with the different fabrics.
