Sentence a day: January documenting our months

collage of January photos

Keeping a diary is so much fun to do, but we don’t write that much anymore do we? So a more modern way to keep track of all the lovely, and sometimes less lovely, things in our life is to write a sentence a day. That way we can read back and remember what we did back then!

If you have a similar post, please join our linkup party. Or perhaps you will decide to write a sentence a day post yourself!

I hope you have fun reading about my last month by a sentence a day!

01/01 New years day! Visiting our parents and enjoying homemade tapas in the evening to enjoy our last evening before normal life begins.

01/02 Today I have to go to the hospital to make an x-ray photo, make a heart film and prick blood gasses, next week the results at my lung specialist.

01/03 Worked out, pfff that was hard, I really need to work out a lot the next months!

01/04 Shall I skip the Fridays?(you know, cleaning)

01/05 I worked out, it was hard as I have worked out not often enough the past weeks, and I cleared the tree and all decorations, finally a empty house again!

01/06 We both worked out and went to a shop to buy a few plant tables for our bed room and Gerben cooked a delicious meal and I made dessert, doesn’t look nice but it is delicious!

01/07 Had an appointment with my doctors in the hospital, my lung doctor told me he is retiring this year, no, he has been my lung doctor for twenty years and the best there is!

01/08 Worked out and did some blogging and knitting, when I was putting on my make-up I saw the sun coming up.

01/09 I had an interesting meeting of the Wmo council, that means social support law, we are allowed to discuss policy and write advice notes, in the coming weeks I have some meetings to give advice on special assistance for the less financially affluent among us.

01/10 Worked out and in the evening Gerben went to a concert with Celina and Paul, so I watched First Dates all evening!

01/11 I had my nails done and in the evening we went to my brother in law to celebrate his birthday.

01/12 We had no appointments so we just did some things around the house and I worked out, I made a apple…..sweet something.

01/13 A grey cold and rainy day, we didn’t do much, although we worked out and combed the cats, we do that every Sunday.

01/14 I had an appointment with my general practitioner because I have pain in my ears, I had the appointment at 8.30, was there at 8.15 and stood outside at 8.20, yes care in the Netherlands is great! Not!

01/15 Worked out, I now did that four days in a row and my body hurts haha, and I had a meeting in the afternoon, which is to late(16.00) my energy level is then enough to cook dinner and to eat and nothing else!

01/16 We wanted to walk for a while, Gerben has call service and does not have to work during the day, but he had a meeting where he needed to be, so I made my day the cleaning and cuddle day.

01/17 I worked out in the morning and in the afternoon we to a framing shop with a painting to get it cleaned and newly framed.

01/18 We wanted to go for a walk but it rained, but we went anyway, and we got wet, very wet.

01/19 We had dinner at our friends house and played Scrabble afterwards, I love to play board games, my girlfriend too, the men not so haha.

01/20 We cycled for 1 hour and 15 minutes while it was freezing, but the sun was shining, I didn’t take photos because I was to cold, had to take a bath when we got home to warm up!

01/21 Worked out and did a lot of blogging.

01/22 Worked out, at the moment I work out 4 times a week and it still feels good, I use maintenance anti-biotics and I feel my body is getting stronger, it was snowing a lot today and I was in it on the bicycle.

01/23 There is a lot of snow, for Dutch standards, and I have to go out a lot today and I hate to drive and to walk in the snow.

01/24 Busy day, worked out, did a lot of mailing and blogging and in the evening I had a meeting that was about the UN Convention, there is a lot of work to be done.

01/25 Cleaning day and a lot of blogging again.

01/26 We are selling loudspeakers and stereo equipment, and also our corner sofa, and there came some people for today, only the sofa still has to be sold, next week we get a new one, in the evening we went out for dinner with friends.

01/27 We worked out and then visit a friend who has a new puppy, Gerben cooked dinner, I had the most amazing slow cooked salmon ever!

01/28 Worked out and did some blogging and started with a online SEO course that I got from my IT man!

01/29 Worked out and in the afternoon I had a meeting about the UN convention.

01/30 I had an appointment with a dietician in the afternoon, I have to eat twice as much calories and proteins, I weigh too little and eat too little.

01/31 I did my work out at home, snow everywhere, and in the evening we went to our friends place to celebrate his birthday!

I hope you liked reading a sentence a day: January and hope to see you here again next month!

I’m so impressed you’ve been working out so much Nancy. We need to brush our kitty more…I don’t think she’s doing so well, and she’s been getting a ton of mats in her fur.
You are such a cook…that’s one thing I haven’t been doing much.

Yes I can work out four times a week now as I am on anti biotics for the winter. So my body is stronger. That feels really good. I love to cook but Gerben is the chef in the weekends!

Hey Nancy. Your food photos look absolutely yummy and since you like board games: skull king is really cool to play with a group of people (I’d say 4 at a minimum), so a good one to play after one of your delicious dinners. It will bring excitement and lots of laughter (talking from experience)! Love, Lieske

Nancy, yes I very much loved this post. The daily diary was very interesting to me. I am so sorry that you lost your favorite doctor. Maybe you should exercise a little bit less. Always listen to your body. Now this is a good excuse for you to eat more food also!
