It feels a bit 80s, a satin skirt. At least for me, I am already experiencing it for the second time. Oh dear, so now I am really old. Oh, I don’t care. I have been feeling 38 for fourteen years now and I always write that on the invitation to my birthday party. That I turn 38! Haha. When I celebrate my birthday, because I usually make sure that I am in England. Well I’m straying a lot. That is because I am typing this post here with the music on and I am blaring along immensely. I am completely still in the festival mood.
Back to the satin skirt okay!
Anyway, a satin skirt. As a girl I always thought it looked so magical. Such a beautiful shiny skirt. So glamorous! Always to be seen in beautiful colors. I must have been a skirt girl since my birth! Here is some more satin skirt inspo.
The only drawback to a satin skirt is that take care of not mess with your food because you will never get a stain out again. So Gerben should never wear a satin skirt! Hahaha, sorry. He always makes stains in shirts! (not that he wears skirts!)
How to wear a satin skirt on a colder day
The satin skirt is experiencing another highlight in fashion. These pictures were taken on a less hot day, hence the cardigan and the ankle boots. But I am sure I will show this skirt again but then wear it on a warm summer day because I bought very nice sandals that matches the skirt perfectly!
At first I wanted to wear my white sneakers, but we had a birthday party to attend and I found that to casual. So my ankle boots then, of course in a light color because a dark color would be way to heavy for the skirt. The cardigan is the same color as the ankle boots so I knew I wanted to wear that one too. And then the top. A bit darker color is what I needed as the cardigan is already very neutral. This lovely sheer floral brown top is perfect on the skirt in combination with the ankle boots and the cardigan because those colors come back in the top again.
If you are wearing a satin skirt, keep in mind that you will see through any unevenness. In the meantime I have bought an underskirt that I will wear under it next time.
