We have all been waiting to see the upcoming trends in the fashion industry for the spring/summer 2020 season. From the recent runway shows there are some pretty clear trends for 2020.
Here are some of the fashion trends expected for this season
Floral and tropical prints
Floral prints are a classic spring pattern, but this year we are seeing a lot more floral and tropical prints in bold colors and designs. A maximalist approach to prints is the perfect opportunity for floral and tropical print lovers out there. Gucci has some floral and tropical prints that are colorful and statement pieces that will shine this season. You take a look at the entire new Gucci collection online on Luisaviaroma for example. So whether you are more in favor of a print dress, canvas jacket or two-piece set, you can find your ultimate bold look.
We aren’t seeing any hesitation when it comes to color this year, particularly with neon colors. Mint green, pistachio, fluro pink and highlighter-inspired neons were all over the runway. Fashion-forward artists, such as Little Mix, have already starting to perform in significantly brighter attire.
Colorful leather is a huge fashion trend
I have said it before, leather is huge this spring! Leather trousers in particular made their way into the fashion trends over the past couple of years, but colorful leather is shining this year rather than the classic black and brown leather look. Coach has trench coats in beautiful berry colors and Bottega Veneta featured trench coats in rust and orange colors.. which brings us to the next trend.
This is the time for tangerine. Lively tangerine brightens up any and every look. Tangerine pops of color, bathing suits, and monochromatic looks made their appearance on the runway for this year.
Big bags to be seen in S/S20
We saw the miniature bags last year, but this year we are back to a big bag. The right accessory pulls any outfit together, and whether you want some transparency with a design from Stella McCartney or a classic XXL with plenty of room for your daily essentials, you will have your pick of trendy bags this season.
S/S20 Short suits
Suits for women haven’t seen an update much beyond the traditional pant suit and skirt.. that is, before this year. Short suits are on trend for the upcoming season and they were all over the runways and have already made their way into street style in the fashion capitals. This is just in time for the spring and summer season, when we have a formal yet temperature-friendly alternative to the classic suit. You can go for a Bermuda short style for more office-appropriate attire or a short short such as those shown on the runway for Michael Kors. Bonus: short suits also give you the chance to show off your shoes.
Shirt dresses are still a fashion trend
The shirtdress makes pulling together a fashionable and flattering look easy. Whether you are heading to the office, to the farmers market, or for a little getaway, a shirtdress will make your outfit work seamlessly. Opt for a classic color so you can make the most of it, pairing it with different shoes, bags and jewelry to dress up or down and in all different ways.
What fashion trend or trends are you looking the most forward to?
