Last week I had nothing on my agenda, except for working out. But it has been a busy week! Strange hey! I was a busy bee! The week after our vacation I had quite a few appointments and I hadn’t done much cleaning etc. And not much work on the blog either. So last week was all about cleaning, washing, ironing, blogging, etc. And I always want to have everything ready for the weekend.
*The featured photo is a throwback to the Uk, near Rye. I love bird of prey!
Busy bee, even if you don’t have a job
I may not work anymore, but I want to keep that weekend feeling. A few weeks ago, before our vacation, a friend said to me, when I said I needed a holiday, but you always have a holiday anyway! Kind of the stupidest comment you can say to someone who has been rejected, disapproved?(can’t find a good translation for the word I mean, do you understand what I mean? I mean that I don’t work anymore because my disease won’t let me) and loved to work.
I could have said that despite my illness I am a lot more active than she is, which is really true!, but some people are just that ignorant. So ….. I was busy as a bee at home last week. Which doesn’t produce interesting photos!
A not so busy weekend
We did have a wonderful weekend. (no busy bee at the weekend) No appointments, we want to take it easy as the infections in the Netherlands increase very quickly. Sunday we cycled for another 75 minutes, although it was quite cold. You don’t put any energy on an electric bicycle, so cycling doesn’t really warm me up.
So I ordered a good warm winter coat and this week I am looking for a pair of earmuffs and stockings and good (so not nice ones!) gloves. Because I also want to keep cycling in the winter. It’s so good, it always makes me feel better! And we saw a lot of bird of prey again! This week is also going to be a quite week. As infections increase over here, we don’t want to go out for dinner lunch etc. So it will be a lot of staying home next weeks! Have a save week!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
What a thoughtless friend! Anywhere I can find the vegan bean burger recipe?
It’s in a Dutch book, can you read Dutch, or can I translate and mail it to you?
I can try it in Dutch, as I can speak Afrikaans. Thanks!
Shall I send a photo to that emailadress?
Love that bird pic! You are such a workout warrior. Glad you were able to catch up after your vacation.
Seems you were very busy doing things that you love! I hope to see the warm winter coat which you bought! Have a great day nancy!
Thanks Yvonne! Have a great day!
You look so cold next to your bike! I will be looking for some kind of jacket for running as I want to continue walking and jogging this winter. I have a couple hats that work well to keep my ears warm. I love that last picture of where you cycled. Very pretty and peaceful. Hoping to get back to our family bike rides in a couple weeks: my husband had broken a rib and we were waiting for it to heal more.
A broken rib! Wow, that is painful. I hope he will be recovering very soon!
Except for my two office days, I haven’t been much of a busy bee, and apart from blogging (which is fun, not a chore) I am behind with all housework except the washing. I need the motivation and get up and go, but I’m lacking in both. So I really do applaud you for keeping up and catching up with everything and generally being a busy bee! And I do think your friend’s comment wasn’t very nice at all. I do know exactly what you mean, even if I can’t think of the right word either. And it’s not as if you are not working by choice!
Isn’t it horrible that infections seem to keep rising everywhere?
You’re looking quite cold standing next to your bike, so your new coat, ear muffs, stockings and gloves will certainly come in handy.
How exciting to have seen birds of prey and exotic looking fungus!
Oh yes Ann, we always see a lot of birds of prey there, they are so gorgeous. And it was really cold! Haha.
I love watching Saturday kitchen! Glad to see you’ve had a great time – love seeing the photos with the birds – amazing. Jacqui x
Oh yes, I get lots of inspiration from that show!
I have been a bit busy with a modified FW here in NY. And of course with blogging and YouTube. I am sorry cases are increasing there. But you looked like you had a great weekend!
Oh looking forward seeing all about the FW! We had! Thanks!
I know what you mean about the weekends–I still look forward to them even though I don’t officially work. I have a consulting business in addition to the blog so, like you, I sure manage to fill up all my time!! You are clearly a very energetic person, Nancy–I’m impressed with all your cycling! Enjoy your time, whatver you might be doing.
Oh thank you Darlene, that is so very kind of you!
Fabulous photo of you and the bird of prey! Your friend is an idiot! Although I retired when my husband did in 2018, the fibromyalgia worsened to the point I would not have been able to work, (and I wasn’t working much even then). So I know how it feels to not be able to do what you want. And being ill makes everything you do harder. It’s not a vacation!
And I admire how much you do! Like the bike-riding. Now that I’ve uncovered either the underlying cause of my fibromyalgia (or some very important triggers – I’m not sure yet), I’ve been thrilled just to be able to do a 20 – 30 minute walk.
We are having another upward trend in cases. It happens after every long holiday weekend.
Anyway, don’t let that idiot friend get you down.
Haha, thanks Michelle, she doesn’t, I know better. I hope the walking really works for you!
The funny thing is being busy is sometimes a badge of honor. I mean, I think that way too, yet I’m trying to learn to relax more and enjoy. Instead of always having to get things done!!
Yes I know!v But I can relax better when everything is done….at least I think so!
As someone who is on reduced hours (still – 6 months!) I also get those thoughtless comments about how it “must be so nice to be off!” – they don’t seem to realize I’m at 2/3 of my pay and vacation time due to reduced hours too! I would rather be working full-time again, but my company is keeping everyone home due to COVID increased rates here too, Nancy. I kind of like having fewer hours, but I also feel the pressure to DO something when I’m off!
I would love to see birds of prey like you did in Rye. We actually have a local place that does the full experience – I should get my group of friends in on that!
Oh yes you should! We had that too. And it was great to have those, heavy, birds on your arm!
Nancy, I love how busy you stay during the week so you feel like you have weekends! And that was a rather ignorant thing of your friend to say. Now I ma hungry from all those delicious food pictures! Thanks for sharing and linking up.
Haha, I know about the food! I am also always hungry when I see food photos!
I love keeping the weekend feeling too. It doesn’t always work, but I do always take Sunday off. What a cool picture with the bird! I’m visiting today from the On the Edge link up. Have a great weekend Nancy!
Thank you very much for visiting. Hopping over to your blog!
