Bird prints! I love them. It always reminds me about Alfred Hitchcock’s movie The Birds. I love his movies and books. But bird prints always seem to have something cheerful and happiness. And yet I had to dig deep in my closet to find something. Well you don’t want to be named, that bird lady, right!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: bird prints!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

I got this bird print kimono back in 2018 when I saw another blogger wearing it. The color and the print are so beautiful and it quickly became a favorite in my vast collection of kimonos. Definitely a Good Buy!
Ann of Polyester Princess

I initially had another blouse with a bird print in mind for this month’s theme. However, while doing my seasonal wardrobe switch, I stumbled upon this long-sleeve tee-shirt I found in a charity shop last year. It’s a very confusing print as at first sight it looks like a geometrical print, and the bird print only appears when you get closer. I actually had to point out the birds to my husband as at first he could not see them!
It’s very unusual and a talking point, so I definitely consider it a Good Buy!
This jumpsuit was certainly a good buy. I love the wide leg fit, but since I have 2 similar ones I did have to say goodbye to it during a recent closet purge
Here is a scarf with birds on it, and I love wearing it as a belt. I call all of my scarves Good Buys!!
I originally bought this Random Bird Print Tee from SheIn back in March of 2019 to wear to a bird expo. I will say, I did wear it, and I received lots of compliments, but I did not love the fit. It has a very boxy shape to it, and I’ve never been a fan of this style, or anything oversized. Fast-forward, this top has been sitting in my closet ever since! I decided to pull it out for this challenge to see if it fit. With my weight gain, and knowing the top didn’t have much stretch, I was so confident the shirt wouldn’t fit, and I’d be saying Good-Bye, but when I put it on, it actually fit really well! And I like the fit so much better now than when I originally received it. I’ll be hanging it back up, and enjoying it a bit longer.
Instead of a pure black and white bird print, it turned out that some of the birds are colored like stylized bluebirds in blush pink and periwinkle blue. Though I haven’t been very creative in color combos with this top, I absolutely love it with this light purple 3/4 sleeve cardigan that previously didn’t match very much in my closet. The unexpectedly colored top ended up filling a wardrobe hole, which makes it a Good Buy in my book!
I have only the one top with feathers which was a very good buy. I bought it from Poshmark and it’s one of my favorites. I love the color, design, and tailoring.
I love yellow and blue put together especially in a toile print! There aren’t many birds on this cardigan so I had to find the perfect picture!
And here is my bird print

Oh how I loved this skirt! Why for Pete’s sake did I sell it? I am so bloody impulsive. And it even had pockets! This skirt was not a cheap rip-off from Chinese sites, but was a Lindy Bop. A very good retro brand. And it brought me back to a lovely lake in the New Forrest. Gosh, I wished I still had this one……Good Buy …..
June’s theme will be: Summer shoes/sandals!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!

What a lovely parade of bird prints, Nancy! Thank you for including me.
My favourites are Shelbee’s outfit, and your skirt, which I can’t believe you sold! xxx
This was quite the theme. It’s definitely something I don’t have much of, but I loved seeing what people did come up with.
