My dear guest writer Claire shows us the shoes of this season!
Let’s face the facts: shoes, just like bags, have the power to make or break an outfit. There are days when you can’t be bothered to come up with an inspired outfit, and that is totally okay. A great pair of shoes, whether classic or extravagant will always come to your rescue. This, of course, is just one of the many incentives to invest in one, or even a couple of pairs of the season’s trendiest shoes. The other incentive includes staying on trend and on point. The third one is that you get to show off your personality through your choice of footwear. Now, without further ado, we present the shoes that have dominated the runways and that now dominate the streets. So, keep up and don’t fall behind on the trendy bandwagon.
It’s no secret that the white boot trend has dominated the street style section more than it has dominated the runways. Women seem to be drawn to white boots like a moth to a flame. We can’t blame them – they probably are the best shoes by the popular vote. We admit were suspicious at first. However, after seeing just how versatile they can be and how easily they can be combined with different outfits and styles, we now completely understand the obsession.
The women who love to make a statement will definitely go crazy over any type of animal print shoe. From ankle boots to slingback pumps and mules, all bets are off. It’s essentially a matter of preference and personal style. It’s difficult to say which print is the ‘it’ print of the season, as they all have a certain appeal. If you want to play it safe, go with the snake print. If, on the other hand you want to make an even stronger statement, zebra will be your print of choice. Just make sure not to go ‘wild’ with the rest of your attire. Subtle prints are fine, but single-color items are even better. They keep the look classy and not over-the-top. Plus, they make the footwear pop even more.
Athleisure is here to stay
While no person has been immune to the allure of the athleisure trend, we all have different preferences. This applies even to the sneakers we wear. Still, among all the running shoes, cute sneakers and even white tennis shoes, one pair made it to the top. Of course, we are talking about the chunky sneakers. There has been something in the air the last couple of years that makes people love the ‘ugly shoes’. It’s undeniable that their ugliness has a certain allure, and the best part, you don’t have to go all Bella Hadid when wearing them. No, there is always a great online clothing store where you can find amazing fall floral dresses. Pair a romantic dress with chunky sneakers for contrast and put your finest bag on your shoulder. Add a trench coat into the mix and you will be street style section-worthy.
Vamp it up
There are times when a woman simply wants to look fierce, feel sexy and powerful. This is of course where a sizzling hot black dress comes to play. An LBD can’t be overthrown when it comes to sexiness and style. To complete the look, resort to a poignant golden clutch and then add the final detail. You have two doors here, both equally trendy, so it’s just a matter of what you feel more comfortable and confident in. You can go with black patent leather stilettos or above-the-ankle boots with a block heel. Both exude the equal amount of the ‘vamp’ factor, so you won’t make a mistake by going either way.
The 90s vibes
Finally, for those who cherish comfort and simplicity above all else, simple and effective army lace-up boots are here to your rescue. They were all the rage back in the 90s and they have, thankfully, returned. There are tons of reasons to love them. First, they can weather the worst weather – snow, rain, the apocalypse. They look powerful yet unobtrusive and finally, you can rock them with everything. From floral dresses to jeans, pencil skirts and all-black-everything ensembles; it’s all a fair trendy game. So, which of the shoes that made the cut will you be going on a hunt for first?
I am afraid I already bought more shoes than I intended to Claire!
