We decided on doing band tees this month. That is actually two months two early. Because I only have two band tees and none of my number one favourite band The Cure!! But as we are going to a The Cure concert in November, I think it’s time to purchase one isn’t it? The link is my ode to Robert Smith, with a wink of course.
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Band tees!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
I got this tank top on a date night with my husband 3 years ago when we saw Yonder Mountain String Band. It was an amazing show and a wonderful date night but this tank top never fit me properly so I rarely ever wear it. Not the best buy ever, that’s for sure! But it’s small enough to keep as a date night souvenir!
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I didn’t have any band tees, so I borrowed this from my friend, Cathie, (@cathiescloset).
Sheila of Ephemera
This tee is a souvenir from a trip to Portland, Oregon in 2019 – Lydia Loveless opened for the Mountain Goats. It was a good buy, as I remember how much fun that trip was!

And here is my band tee
The Cure is, like I said, my number one band. But after that comes Siouxie and the Banshees. A punk band which sadly doesn’t perfome anymore. And sadly I never seen them live! Of course I had to style this tee the punk way! With a tulle skirt and fantastic punky boots! If you have never heard of the band, here is a link.
November’s theme will be: Work out gear!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!
I used to be a big Cure fan too Nancy. We must have grown up around the same time!! Those were the days I wore all black…hard to imagine, right? LOL

Haha, yes indeed! I got stuck in that time, lol.
Nancy, you definitely need to get yourself a Cure tee shirt when you see them next month! I love your Siouxie and the Banshees tee and this cool punk outfit! This was a fun theme!

Thank you!
I’m sorry that the lack of band tee refrained me from participating this month. Surprisingly, having been a big Siouxsie fan back in the day, I never even had a Siouxsie band tee. And you must most definitely get a Cure one in November! xxx

Yeah, it’s about time I bought one indeed! Do you still listen to Siouxie and the Banshees?
This is such a fun post idea! I’m a big band tee girl myself 🙂 x

Would have loved it if you had participated!
Bravo everyone!! I had to stop and think if I have any band tees and the answer is NO. Unless a graphic tee for John Denver counts. But he was a solo performer so not a band. Love how everyone styled their tee. I am a big fan of graphic tees and sweatshirts paired with skirts or dressed up a bit with a blazer. Fun post.

Oh of course John Denver counts! Would have loved to see you in that one Leslie!
I could have styled up at least 20 more band tees, all purchased at concerts! Loved seeing all the fun ones here!
I will likely not be participating in the “althleisure” look next month…but then again, I’ve been buying sporty pieces for ages – it would be fun to try to make a sporty look for the theme.
Thanks so much, Nancy!

You are so creative, you can mame it work!
The Cure and Siouxsie & The Banshees/The Creatures were favorites of mine back in the day! I still listen to their songs. You definitely channeled that 80s punk vibe in your outfit!

I do too, almost every day! Thanks Sally!
