A little peep in what I wore last week and what happened in my life. Not that it’s so adventures, but it’s fun to read back for me, lol. And of course I hope you like to read it too! And here we are in November again, on to the holidays! But first, lots of other fun things. I really feel that the stressful times are over, for now, and that we only have fun things now. I wonder how long that will last. A while ago someone asked me if I was a optimist or a pessimist and I answered the first………mm……
What I wore last week and what happened along the way
- Fondue! I love it!
- Zoom with Michelle.
- At the National Park. Autumn is so beautiful.
I don’t show what I wore of every day because sometimes, when I don’t have to go out after working out at the gym, I change in something very comfortable. Not photogenic. Last Saturday we had friends over for dinner and we had fondue. I completely forgot to take pictures. Such a shame, because I always think a table full of food looks so cozy. I am sharing a photo from internet to give you some idea. It was a wonderful evening!
On Sunday we went to the national park. Also not showing what I wore, as it is always jeans and a puffer jacket, not interesting. It’s so beautiful outside this time of the year, isn’t it? All those colours and beautiful mushrooms everywhere. But it was already cold, and since I’m in my wheelchair for an hour and a half, I was quite chilled. But at home I could relax because Gerben cooks on the weekends. What a treat! Mondays are often the same: laundry, exercise, blogging. But last Monday, I even added Zooming with Michelle! We do that once a month and often chat for two hours. So nice, I think we’ve been doing it for a few years now.
Meeting for lung patients and partners
- At the meeting. Ans, one of the other volunteers, baked cake! And she gave me what was left over afterwards, so delicious.
- The birthday boy Gudo, very happy with his desert!
- At the gym.
On Wednesday, I had a meeting for the Lung Point. Let me explain what it is. I organize meetings for people with lung disease four times a year with two other women. We usually have a guest speaker who explains a specific topic. And there’s time to talk to each other, share experiences, ask questions. Or just have a nice cup of coffee with each other. The other women and I usually get together four times a year to create the annual program, decide which guest speakers we want to invite, and so on.
I handle the administrative side of everything. And at the meeting itself, I chat with everyone. Very intensive, but so nice to be able to do. On Wednesday, our theme was: What if your partner has lung disease? We’ve been doing this since 2020 and have built up a nice group of regulars. And it was so great to see so many partners joining us. They’re welcome at every meeting, of course, but this time there were so many. I’m always exhausted afterward, I have to say. And my brother in law invited us for dinner because of his birthday in the evening. So I had a hour to rest and freshen up and on we went.
- I wore blue and brown a couple of times last week. One of my favourite combo’s.
- Jack and Castor.
On Friday, I finally went back to the skin clinic. My skin is in a horrible state. I don’t know if it’s the medication or the cream. But I went for a Botox injection between my eyes and laser treatment for the red veins. And they’ve been popping up a lot lately. It’s also been a long time since I’d been back. I usually have the laser treatment once every 15 months and the Botox once every 8 months. So, I don’t look great at the moment, but it will be alright!
That was what I wore and what happened in my life last week. On to a wonderful weekend!
And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!
Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party. I also pin my favourite on Pinterest.
My Fancy Friday Favourite of last week is: Maureen of Little Miss Casual

I would also appreciate if you shared a link to Nancy’s Fashion Style in your post or give a little shout out on social media to promote the Fancy Friday linkup party! And now share your post!
By joining the Fancy Friday party, you agree to receive a weekly reminder email for the linkup party.

Being a vegetarian, I haven’t had a fondue like that in ages! I really could go for a cheese fondue, though 😉
It sounds like a full week and I hope you had enough time to get some rest, too.
Thank you for hosting!

It’s been a busy week for you! I love that first top and what a nice brown and blue combo. The topic for your meeting was very a propos and I think it is great that so many people attended.

I love the blue skirt! The national forest sounds nice but I can imagine being cold sitting in a wheelchair that long.

That reminds me that we had a fondue years ago, what a fun and easy way to entertain. Must see if it’s still around. Keep well Nancy!

Nancy, love your brown and blue outfits! Wonderful of you to help organize the support group. I know it makes a big difference for people to feel connected and heard. I haven’t had fondue in ages-a fondue party sounds like so much fun! Here in the US, it is a bit of a novelty. Thanks for sharing your week, and hope you have a more restful one to come. Thanks also for hosting the link up!

Yes they are! And we get so much positive feedback! Thanks Kellyann.
How fabulous that you help out others with lung disease that way. I can bet it’s exhausting, but definitely a good thing for your social and for helping others.

Indeed! I got help when I rehabilitaded 12 years aago, and hope I can help others a bit with what I learned back then.
Those national park photos are lovely! The outfits you did photograph are great. I often don’t bother taking photos of my hiking/outdoor activity outfits either.

But they are actually good memories! So I do try to think about taking photos. Thanks Joanne!
I haven’t had fondue in decades, but I remember quite loving it! You look so good in brown, Nancy! I don’t think we’ve seen a black outfit for quite some time! What a fun time you and Michelle (Shelbee) must have on Zoom! I would love to be in a room and just listen to both of you talk and laugh! I’m so glad you’ve created this group of support (of course, you have Gerben, but that’s different). It’s always good to know people who understand what you’re going through. Thanks so much for the link up!

I’m loving both of your outfits, Nancy. Blue and brown are fantastic together.
The Lung Point sounds like a worthy initiative, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll soon see an improvement in the condition of your skin! xxx

Thank you Ann. Yes I hope so too, it’s very irritating when my skin looks that bad.
Your kittens are so sweet, Nancy! Great outfits! Thanks so much for the link-party!

Wow, it’s been ages since I’ve had fondue but it is very delicious and delightful! The experience itself is fun, in my opinion. A great way to spend with friends. Your navy pleated skirt is so stunning and how cute are Jack and Castor! And thank you for the feature! As always it’s a fun surprise. I appreciate you and support. I hope your week has been going well and hooray that we are almost to the weekend!

The navy and brown outfit is very stylish! I’ve had laser treatment for broken veins multiple times but it never seems to work. I love the photos of your cats!

Oh, it works for me, but new veins get back, so once a year for maintenance is okay for me.
