Leave it to Jodie to come up with colours! And first, a very warm welcome to our new member Jodie! Now wearing colour for me is a thing in summer, let alone in winter! And it has to be pre loved here of course too! Well let’s take a look at what summer colours we wear in winter!
Welcome to The Thrifty Six. We are a group of international fashion influencers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a theme that features pre loved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling pre loved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here to inspire you to shop second hand.
Wearing summer colours in winter
I had to check my closets to see with what I could come up with. I have a few summer colours, but they are summer clothes and not pre loved. And I didn’t feel like buying something as I just don’t wear colours that often. But a colour combination that always reminds me of summer is blue and white. It feels nautical, I can almost hear the sea, the seagulls, the warmth of the sun.
And this lovely King Louie jacket with sailing boats on it is then perfect to wear. With a pre love navy white striped jumper with pearls and a red detail at the sleeves.
And now take a look at my summer colour dressed fashion friends!
…when I think Summer colours, I always think pastels!
These pure wool trousers give me the best of both worlds…
…cosy and warm, yet alive with pretty pastel colours!
An original pair of 1970’s flares, re-tailored by me for the modern aesthetic…
…I think they’re rather cool!
Powder blue leather jacket, pashmina and bag make the look complete.

It always seems so sad to only wear dark, muted colors for the winter months, so I grabbed my thrifted lilac jeans and winterized them with a thrifted Cabi navy sweater and combat boots along with some faux fur details.
Just wait until you see how Lesley styled her outfit!
Oh yes! You look ready for a day at the shore. 🙂 blue and white always makes me think of the beach.
Yes me too, I wished it was already that time of the year!
Nice outfits! Thanks for sharing.
I invite you to visit my last post. Have a good week!
Thank you. I would love to but you didn’t leave your blog name or link.
Love all of these looks! You red booties really look amazing with this look Nancy.
Thanks Kathrine. I wear them not often enough, they are really nice.
Nancy, this is such a cute outfit! You are really rocking the jeans lately! I love that you went with nautical colors for this challenge and your red boots are magnificent!
I just bought a new denim skirt, lol. I hope you are having a fabulous time.
Love all these outfits! Especially the red boots are a real catch!
lots of love, Miri
Thank you very much!
The blue and white is perfect for the upcoming summer and look at you print mixing. You ought to add this to my pinned post on my FB page (jtouchofstyle) and I’ll include you in my Saturday daily outfit post!!
Next time, I’ll try not to use colors as the prompt, haha.
Oh thank you, I just added the look! Didn’t even feel like print mixing!
As you know, I wear colour all year round, although I tend to wear paler colours more in Summer.
I love your nautical look – and in particular the King Louie jacket – which of course screams Spring and Summer rather than Winter. But perfect for a sunny and Springlike Winter’s day at the seaside, I guess! xxx
I wish! This is such a lovely jacket that always remind me of the coast in Hampshire!
I love these looks! So effortlessly stylish!

Tank you very much!
Oh, I agree…blue and white are definitely summer especially when they’re a nautical print! Though, why is that? Don’t people go on boats in the winter? Hmmm! Anyway, you look fabulous as always! I hope you have a wonderful week and will join me on Friday for a link party!
Not as much as in summer I suppose! Thanks Marsha!
It always fun to try to figure out how to interpret a theme especially if it is not something that you are drawn to usually. Love the addition of the boots. I really wear color year round more nowadays so it is not a stretch to wear color in colder months and sometimes I just wear a summer dress with a sweater.
I love to wear a sweater over a dress now too! It’s aperfect way to be creative with your clothes right!
Great outfits thanks for sharing.
Thank you Heather!
I’m already looking forward to spring and the beautiful bright outfits!
And not layering so much! Thanks Mira!
Just fantastic, so many great interpretations of the monthly theme!
Thank you Sheila!
