It’s time to show your skirt!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The GoodBuy/Good-Bye Book: skirts
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
This brightly colored striped midi skirt is probably not the best buy in my closet. I snagged it a few years ago on super duper clearance from Cato Fashions in an attempt to add some more vibrant colors to my wardrobe. I wore it twice on the blog for different posts but never wore it other than that. It is just not me and I don’t feel very comfortable in it. If I saw it on someone else, I would love it. But it simply is not my style. Once I get ‘round to cleaning out my closet, I will probably say good-bye to this skirt.

This skirt was a Good Buy. Then I washed it. Now it’s a Good Bye.

This black denim skirt a definite Good Buy from Loft can do so much with it.
Jodie of @jtouchofstyle
Technically it’s not a good buy in that I made it…ha ha. But I did buy the yarn!!! And I love it with my OTK boots. It’s the perfect reason to wear shorter skirts!!
This is Sonja of BeautySoMe
This lovely semi transparent skirt was one of my favorites, but it is a small size and I had to give it away, 24 pounds didn’t fit!
After the mini Punk skirt I wanted a more decent one, so I bought a skirt that had a longer fit. More me, more skirt…
And finally my skirt
This was one of my favorite skirts, but it is to small now, I had it for years. But I bought a new denim pencil skirt! Soon on the blog!
May’s theme will be: Polk Dots!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.comor to info@nancysfashionstyle.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!
I would really appreciate it if you would share my outfit on Pinterest! Just hoover over the photo!
This was fun, I loved seeing all the skirts and can’t wait to see your new denim one!

These are all lovely skirts! I’ve done the wrong washing cycle and ruined clothes before, it’s the worst feeling!

You have encouraged me to buy and wear knee length skirts for every day again. Just purchased two denim skirts and am enjoying the look. Thanks.

Oh that is so nice to hear! Have fun wearing them!
I’m loving that denim pencil skirt. Such a shame it’s too small now. Can’t wait to see your new one! I’ve been looking for a decent denim skirt for a long time, but it’s got to be just so, I’m very particular 😉 xxx

Thanks Elle! I don’t think there are many skirts that I don’t like!
I really like pencil skirts but feel so self conscious in them. No matter what size I buy, they wind up feeling restrictive and a little like a straight jacket around the hips. I have a new skirt coming from Loft Outlet that I hope will be a good buy. Keep your fingers crossed!

I will! Thanks Leslie!
