Personally, I never thought I would ever like sneakers. And before 5 years ago, maybe 4 or even 3, I didn’t like them at all and never wore them other then to the gym. Now I have 5 pair. And a while ago I even sold two pairs, so had 7. My latest purchases are these black boot-like sneakers. I also have these ones with glitters and you will see those soon on the blog.
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!

First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
I found these floral embroidered sneakers on clearance a few years ago for around $7 and I just couldn’t resist them for that price. They are very comfortable, too, and I have had fun wearing them with jeans, skirts, dresses, and shorts. Although I don’t wear sneakers very often, for $7 I definitely have gotten my money’s worth from these Good Buy sneakers.

These Rifle Paper Co x Keds sneakers were a stunningly Good Buy that I almost didn’t make because I thought I didn’t need a pair of sneakers, but my husband talked me into it…and he was right! Purchased in July 2020 for $56.74, they have already been worn 56 times for a cost per wear of $1.01 and rapidly falling. I absolutely love the navy + white color combination and the wonderful floral print. I wear them year-round (though not outdoors in winter, of course!).
I’ve added several pairs of fashion sneakers in the last few years, especially since I retired. They’re a great way to incorporate style into your look and still be comfortable. A few months ago, I’d spied a woman wearing a pair of sneakers similar to the platform Converse ones that I’m wearing and I was smitten (by the shoes, not the woman). I got online as soon as I returned home to search for them and place my order. One of my best/favorite buys of 2022.

I can’t imagine a life without sneakers anymore, lol, that sounds very dramatic. But I really love sneakers now and wear them super often. This was the first pair I bought. And I still have these and wear them all the time!

My problem with sneakers is that most of them have those white soles, which I do not like. I mean, walk two steps in them and they need cleaning 🙂 Or perhaps I am doing it wrong!
Nevertheless I am loving Shelbee’s all-white floral ones and Sally’s black floral ones, even though they too have those white soles … xxx

I have to say, I am a bit particular about when I will wear tennis shoes or sneakers. Especially for the un-fashionista I am!! I don’t even really like to wear sneakers with jeans. Have maybe 2 pairs that I will wear with anything other than activewear. But I do like white sneakers with little dresses in the summer. Love everyone’s offerings. Laura’s Converse are so cute with the hot pink laces. Love Rena’s and Sally’s and Shelbee’s sneakers, too. Fun post.

I agree with you, Nancy! I couldn’t imagine life without my sneakers either lol. I wear them all the time and I just love them. And now that’s it’s cool to wear them with dressy outfits, even better!
