Eyewear! The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

eyewear collage

It’s time to show our eyewear! And I found finally a excuse to tell you the story of my two new oxygen glasses! Not that  need a excuse. But it involves my dear friend Shelbee!

Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series in February 2018, but we had been working together a year previous. So you can say we really like to host these series! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join us. The more the merrier!

What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?

It is a collage of outfits from all different women! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We’ll keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.

But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!

So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Eyewear!

First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

eyewear

I bought these purple sunglasses by Oliver Goldsmith years ago and they have been my favorites ever since. Tried to replace them with the Kate Spade sunglasses that I am sharing on my blog, but Kate just could not live up to the standard that Oliver had set! I love the dark purple color, the squared shape, and the large size of these frames. They make me feel a little bit like a movie star! Definitely a Good Buy! I will continue to update the lenses as needed for as long as I can. Especially considering the exorbitant cost of these beauties.

These are my favorite sunglasses; I bought them years ago at Target and they have outlasted 6 other pairs I’ve bought. They have been such a good buy but they are so stretched out and scratched that it’s probably time to say Goodbye to them.
Recently bought a pair of prescription glasses where I can change the top plastic so I can have different colors for all of my outfits.
One of the first colors I bought was this bright pink and I love how it really stands out.
One of my best buys ever.

I am sending you a picture of myself taken in 2017 when my younger daughter and I were in Tokyo.  I bought these glasses when we were visiting Tokyo’s Disneyland.  As you can see we were having a lot of fun there.

And here is my story

eyewear oxygen glasses

So I had to order new oxygen eyewear because my old ones were getting old. For those who don’t understand what I’m talking about, read more here. So there was only 1 company in the world that made the special glasses, in America. And it was going to close their doors I read on their site when I wanted to order a new pair! I panic!! But Gerben said, order two immediately and you can go on for several years. Okay…..will do that. And then they stopped sending it to Europe! What to do! There’s no way I’m leaving my house with those damn tubes in my face.

Gerben said: (Yes, Gerben comes to the rescue quite often) then ask Shelbee if she can send it! So after a day of thinking, because I don’t want to bother anyone else with my problem, I took the plunge and sent a message to Shelbee. It was no probem for her to do that for me she said, because she is that kind a woman! And she then had my oxygen eyewear sent to her house and then forwarded to me! With a very nice gift too! If that isn’t a girlfriend! I am so grateful for that kind offer!

So these are the glasses I wear when I go out. If you look good you can see the tubes in my nose. I don’t wear glasses at home, they are purely for my oxygen, not intirely, I need glasses in my car…..but anyway, this eyewear is a Good Buy!!

July’s theme will be: Shorts!

Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com

By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!

And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!

Oh my gosh, it was my pleasure to hep you get your glasses! You left out the part where they were delivered to some random business address that was not even close to your address which I wrote on the shipping label! What a hassle that became for you, too. But thankfully you have received them and all is well! The lady at the glasses company was super nice and helpful, too, getting this done for you. All proving that goodness still exists in this crazy world! Love you, my friend!

Indeed! When I read all the comments it’s almost overwhelming. And yes, that was a very stressful thing too when it looked as if it would be delivered at the other side of our country!

Those glasses are amazing. I would never guess you had oxygen tubes. What a game changer and good buy indeed. Does insurance pay for them? I am sorry the company you have purchased them from is shutting their doors but thank goodness, Gerben suggested buying two pairs and Shelbee came to the rescue in getting them to you. You wear them well.
