It’s red and pink today! What cheerful outfits all! Normally The Good Buy / Good-Bye Book is of course on the 15th. But because tomorrow The Thrifty Six presents itself again, we have moved the cheerful theme red and pink to today. Which of course also fits in great with what it is today! Valentine’s Day!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Red and Pink!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
Both my pink furry teddy bear coat and pink velvet booties are good buys. I have had both items for a few years and I have worn them countless times on my blog and in real life. There is something so special about the femininity of a soft shade of pink.
Michelle of My Bijou Life
This red top was definitely a good buy! I love the scalloped neckline. And it is such a pretty shade of red. I anticipate getting a lot of use from it.
Ellie of Simply Ellibelle
I saw this this pink sweater on the Nordstrom website a couple of years ago and absolutely fell in love with this shade of pink. When it arrived I loved it even more for its softness, but it was way too loose on my petite frame. Luckily I was able to exchange it for a smaller size and I am so glad I did! It was definitely a Good Buy!
Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey
I don’t wear a lot of pink or red, but I like them as accent colors, so both of my items are shoes. These are my pink loafers.
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I bought this sweater from Target as a collaboration with some women on Instagram. But I loved it so much that I even showcased 5 popular ways to style it on my blog. I love how bright and colorful it is, so it can be worn for Valentine’s day but also many other days!!!
Joanne of Slices of Life
My husband and I enjoyed a date night out recently and I picked this adorable pink/white/ gray top. It has been a good buy that I have gotten lots of use out of. Though you can’t see it; the back has a scoop neck with a silver ribbon tie that I just love.
Sheila of Ephemera
I can’t decide which pink item I like the most in this outfit, so I am submitting them all! The pink mohair coat is from the 1960s, found at a local vintage fair in 2019 – I suspect it was a church coat, as it was in pristine condition. The “Barbie” pink shoes were thrifted – love the colour and shape (so 80s!). The pink fur scarf and leather gloves were also second-hand, as was my pink pussy-bow blouse. They’re all good buys!
Anna of Looking Fabulous @ Fifty
I like the fact that this pink coat is buttonless and you can belted tight or not at all, depending on what you wear it with. The colour is dusty pink so it does not clash with any other colour you wear with it. All and all, I think it was a really Good Buy.
Liz of Closet Play image
I never imagined how much wear I would get out of this red wool flannel skirt… Until I found red tights to wear with it! Definitely a Good Buy! How good a buy?
Mireille of Chez Mireille
Since I am sorry lacking in pink, I picked up this soft long tunic on Amazon in January. Perfect tucked in or as a tunic with leggings.
Rena of It’s All Fine. Whatever Tickles The Fancy.
I’d been looking for red jeans for a while and I was so pleased to find this pair on clearance after the holidays. There’s a quote on the back of my shirt that says “We were not born to be perfect. We were born to be real.
Jacqui of Mumma B Stylish
This is my new tunic dress over leggings. Perfect to layer for winter with boots and tee shirt underneath.
And finally my red and pink outfit.
I really love these colors together, although I only have the shoes now. Different shades of pink with red is so gorgeous. I loved this dress a lot too but it was not for me. But it was nice to see this outfit again!
March theme will be: Power Outfits for International Women’s Day!

How wonderful to see this parade of pink and red on Valentine’s Day!
I can’t believe you no longer have that gorgeous dress, nor the blazer. I think it looks gorgeous on you, but I do understand that you didn’t think it was you. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and Gerben! xxx
