Polka dot dress? Graphic print? What kind of print does this dress have? Anyway, I really like it! And those colors too! The only thing I think is a bit of a shame is that this is a dress from Zara’s spring collection, you can find the other two here and in this post I’m also wearing one. But then there are long sleeves in it! Why? My rule (if you can speak of rules as far as fashion is concerned of course) is that when I wear tights, I will never wear short sleeves. And when I wear bare legs, never long sleeves. I can’t help it, I think it looks super ugly. Must be something with symmetry. Anyway, I’m really not going to wear tights now, so I should actually roll up my sleeves. Which is also a shame because the cuffs are very beautiful. Dilemmas!
Is this a polka dot or a graphic print dress?
I would say it is a graphic print dress. It’s funny because to me the dress looks so different in real as it does on the photo. I think it looks more a polka dot dress in real, and on the photo it is more a graphic print dress. But I felt hard for this one. Love the colour combination and the v-neck. Which is a pretty low one, but that’s okay, I always wear a camisole under my dresses or tops. And if it is under 20 degrees celcius, which is 68 Fahrenheit Shelbee, I even wear a basic top over the camisole and under the dress or blouse or even sweater. I hate cold. And Shelbee doesn’t like it when people only note the degrees in celsius, hence the link to my beautiful friend.
How to accessorize a polka dot dress?
Not! Haha, yeah that would be my style. But I do my best to remember that when I put my clothes on and am ready for the day, to add one more accessory. So I added the necklace. And I was already wearing my statement black ring and earcandy. The ankle boots are new. They are part of a collaboration. I wanted to have new suède ankle boots to wear under dresses and maxi skirts. And these are perfect for what I had in mind. So apart from the long sleeves, this is a very nice dress. And now that I am wearing this polka dot dress with ankle boots, the long sleeves don’t feel so strange to me. I just can’t wear sandals or slippers with the dress. That would feel and look weird in my head.
What’s your opinion? Long sleeves and bare legs are okay?
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

You look amazing in this dress. you are definitely an eye catcher. For me, bare legs depends on the temperatures. Not the sleeve length. So many light summer dresses have long sleeves these days. It’s actually a paradox. 😂

It is, but I hate it, lol. Have a great weekend Tina!
I love the colours in the dress Nancy. Have a lovely weekend xx

Thank you very much Laurie!
That dress is so pretty – the colors are so vibrant and the print is eye catching. I really love the dramatic sleeves too! Maybe because I live in such a hot climate, I never wear tights! So I say, do what you want.
The necklaces are really stunning too – I am enjoying gold jewelry so much more this year over the fun, colorful styles I usually go for in spring and summer.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

The vibrant 70’s print and polka dots both bang on trend and the colors are fabulous on you. I agree with you about bare legs and long sleeves but probably only if your legs are white, it looks strange. But you’re showing little leg and they’re a great color anyway so it looks good! Enjoy your weekend Nancy.

Thank you very much Pamela. But If I would wear sandals under this dress, that would feel strange to me.
That’s a very bold dress, Nancy and it looks amazing on you. I love the sleeves and in our summers I think we need them! Love the ring btw, super dramatic and my kind of jewellery! Altogether it’s a great outfit x

Thank you very much Penny. The ring I bought in that church where the antique market is in Lewes!
These is so stunning! The bold colors and prints are amazing. Probably one of my fave dresses on you. Thanks so much for the link up and the feature Nancy!

This dress looks beautiful on you! It’s a dress after my own heart! I am a big fan of bold graphic prints and polka dots, too! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the link up!
First, I thought the print almost looked like crochet squares. It’s so fabulous Nancy.
And you know me….where the bare legs with long sleeves. Why not?? Who said symmetry is better? LOL!! Just try it, you might like it!!

Haha, symmetry is it all for me,lol.
Nancy this dress is just freaking fabulous! I love everything about it – the colors, the design, and even the sleeves. (But I understand your point. I have a spring dress with long sleeves and I’m always confused about when I should wear it with what.)

Your self-imposed fashion rule made me smile, and surely rules are meant to be broken 🙂
I’ve often worn long sleeves without tights, so there 🙂
Your dress, which I think falls under both print catagories, is an absolute stunner! I love it so much I might even have a look in Zara! xxx

You probably will find it in a pre loved clothing shop for a quarter of the price! Lol.
I would call these sleeves 3/4 sleeves so anything goes. It sure is a pretty dress! I love how you styled it here.

Oooh what a cool dress, Nancy! I love the colors and the funky polka dot graphic print, too! I do wear sleeves with bare legs because my shoulders and arms get way colder than my legs! And I am over here cracking up about your temperature conversion! Thank you so much for providing it so I didn’t have to go look it up myself! Hahaha

Haha, yeah yeah, I am learning!
Love the abstract design! I have to agree about bare legs with short sleeves! I don’t know why so many summer dresses have long sleeves lately.
Author
A lot this season! Thanks Gail!
That dress has such a unique pattern—it reminds me of a quilt, but more abstract and graphic. I will say, I love summer dresses with long sleeves, only because summer is a little chilly in San Francisco!

Nancy, I’d say that the print is a graphic interpretation of “granny squares crochet” pattern. I like it and you look fabulous.

I love this fun graphic/polka dot combination print! It’s so unique! This dress is lovely on you!

Thanks Laura!
I can see polka dots but also the graphic print. Whichever…you look gorgeous in it! I haven’t really thought about wearing long sleeves with sandals or not…I guess when I put on my cardigan when I’m cold, I’m wearing long sleeves? I’ve started to put in the Celsius temperatures in my posts! Thanks for the link party, Nancy!

Actually, there is nothing better and more stylish in my book than wearing a long-sleeved dress with sandals. And this dress is real pretty. Thank you for hosting, Nancy.

That’s such a fun dress, Nancy! Does it have pockets?? 🙂 I would call it a graphic print. Polka dots are either a single colour dot or a single colour background (or both).
That is a funny hang-up you have with long sleeves and bare legs. Get over it! Ha ha!
Thanks for the link-party!
Author
No, it doesn’t have pockets, that’s downside. And no I will not get over it! Lol.
I love the bold colors and print of your dress! It is simply stunning on you!

Definitely! I have worn sweatshirts with shorts before… so yes to long sleeves and bare legs. What a pretty dress. That print and those colors are so eye catching.
Author
I can picture that and it even looks good. Maybe because then you see a lot of skin??
I think you shared this dress, featuring the black suede booties, in another recent post. I never realized that the print was dots. Ha!! It looks almost like a patchwork quilt. Or a geometric print. Whatever the case, I LOVE it. You have styled it perfectly…the great black ring, those booties. And I love the flirty photo of you bending over, the hem of your dress flipping out a little. You are adorable.
