I had agreed with myself that I was not allowed to buy anything in February and March. Okay I couldn’t pass up this dress of course, but it was discounted, then it doesn’t count, does it? Anyway, I had all kinds of beautiful tiered maxi dresses in my Zara basket for a long time. And after the holiday in England in March, I was allowed to shop again! It also makes no sense at all to buy spring clothes in February or March. You can’t wear it anyway, at least not here in the Netherlands. So I bought three gorgeous dresses. This is number one!
Black tiered maxi dress. Another one?
I love black clothes and have had many black dresses in my life. Well I already had a tiered maxi dress in black from last year. But when I started trying it on again at the beginning of this year, I suddenly didn’t find it so nice anymore. Just not long enough and the fabric was quite stiff. But luckily Zara was there again with the perfect black tiered maxi dress for me. I could live in this dress. It fits so well and it is the perfect length. And it feels so soft.
These kinds of dresses are just not always very convenient to wear. I go everywhere in the area by bicycle and then a maxi dress is not very handy. Or you have to tie it up a bit, but otherwise the fabric is between the spokes, or it drags on the ground. And when I do tie it up, there are wrinkles and I hate wrinkles. I still have to come up with a solution for that. If you have one, then I would love to hear it.
How to wear a tiered dress?
Very casual! I mean heels under a tiered maxi dress? No, absolutely not. That’s my opinion. I would wear these kind of dresses with sneakers or slippers. And espadrilles or ballerinas. Lot’s of options. I am still noyt sure if I should belt it or not. I pretty like it not belted, but I mean it is wide! A small belt would be a option. Barely visible. Or a short cardigan or jacket would tailor it a bit.
But it is also how clothing do make you feel isn’t it. And the dress without a belt feels great and super relaxed to me. I am wearing blue super light earrings, so that the color of the sneakers come back when I don’t wear the denim jacket. And this gorgeous gifted necklace that I wear a lot. And a bunch of bracelets to accentuate the casual style. How do you feel about tiered maxi dresses?
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

Nancy, you look amazing. An incredibly youthful look that you’ve created.
So pretty! I loved the tiers, it seems that is popular with dresses now! The denim jacket and sneaks give it a lovely casual look!

Oh Nancy you look so young! I can see you feel good in it. I have also such a dress, you know, and it‘s a great feeling to live in it. 😁🎉 I can understand. 😊

Love this tiered maxi dress! Such a versatile piece! Happy Friday!

You’ve achieved a real “cool girl” look here nancy that I love but doesn’t suit me. The less feminine accessories are the key I think It’s a fabulous look on you xx
I di love a tiered maxi dress! They are so versatile but definitely not bike friendly. I hope you find a solution for that.
Thanks so much for the feature – what a sweet surprise!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend Nancy!
xo,
Kellyann
Love your new tiered dress Nancy! The denim jacket is perfect with it and I love you wearing it with sneakers. Thanks for the link up!

I love tiered maxi dresses! And this black is absolutely gorgeous on you, Nancy. I would have styled it exactly the same too. I do like dresses without belts, because they’re just so much more comfortable, right?!
Have a lovely weekend,
Hugs

Oh, I love your dress with the jean jacket and sneakers! Thanks for the party.
That dress is so cute on you! I love the casual way you wore it, too. It’s great with those sneakers!
I love your dress!!

Great look on you, Nancy! I love the loose flowing tiers of the dress, and the way you styled it casually under the denim jacket. Your blue sneakers are super cute, too. The inside zipper makes so much sense for getting them on and off. Hope you have a good weekend and thanks for sharing!
I love that dress and it’s certainly going to stand the test of time. Dress it up or down I think

Fun vibe! I have some new dresses with tiers, they are everywhere, but I do love Zara! You look great in black and the jacket and sneakers give it a fun, casual look! Enjoy your weekend!

Great dress, and I love the styling here…such a nice switch-up from the very feminine look I often see with these dresses! The bicycle thing is a dilemma for sure (esp. if you hate wrinkles!).
That’s a great dress, Nancy. I’m wondering if they’ve got it in any other colour as, much as I love all-black on you, I don’t love it on me. Nor white 🙂 Hearing you on the issues one can have with maxi dresses! I was wearing a maxi skirt last weekend and almost tripped on the stairs while carrying the washing basket upstairs. And when I wore the same skirt to the office, I kept running over its hem with the wheels of my office chair :-))
Can’t wait to see the other dressed you bought! xxx
You gave me an idea to wear my espadrille with my black dress that yours reminds me of. I love the sneakers you chose to pair with this.

I just adore how you styled this up- especially with the cutest sneakers! And a black tiered dress is always so good- all seasons too. You look amazing!
Aren’t black dresses just the best? You can always do so much with them and they show up accessories so well! I love, love, love your shoes (I can’t wear those at all, but I love seeing them on others)! I have absolutely no idea how to wear a maxi dress and ride a bike unless you’d hike it up around your waist and wear a pair of leggings underneath to cycle? I guess it would depend on the fabric and how wrinkled it would get. Thanks for the link up, Nancy!

Love this dress on you, Nancy – it’s excellent with the jean jacket over it and the Converse sneakers. I would belt it if I were wearing it on its own, as otherwise, I look pregnant! I’d do a wider belt to help make that hourglass shape.
Great tiered black dress Nancy and the casual styling is perfect. It looks cool and comfortable too. I wouldn’t bother with a belt. Many thanks for hosting, hope your weekend is going well.
There’s something about a black summer dress that’s really stylish. Love it. You look amazing in it. Have a lovely weekend x
This looks like such a comfy dress that is just perfect for summer and warm weather!
Lovely dress, it looks great with the denim jacket and Converse sneakers. I bought an orange dress in that style last year but haven’t worn it yet. It didn’t make the holiday wardrobe edit but hopefully we’ll get some nice weather here so I can
wear it. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

You look great, I love the dress! <3

I’m impressed you went two months without buying anything. I need to do that, LOL!!
Could you wear a belt (it doesn’t have to be super tight) that you could then pull the material up over to shorten the dress for biking?? That might not wrinkle it as much??
XOXO

This outfit is so adorable! I love it! It looks very comfy and casual without the belt. If I wanted to dress it up more, only then would I consider a belt. That’s the beauty of a dress like this, it can be casual or dressy.

That’s a gorgeous dress and I bet it’s super comfy too. I have a similar one from H&M that’s a few years old, but I wear it all the time!

What a lovely maxi dress! It can totally be dressed up or down – day wear/night wear. I really do need to invest in some maxi dresses, they just never come in my ideal length for my height! Sim x #TrafficJamWeekend
