I had my eye on this pink graphic print dress for a long time before I finally bought it! I really liked it and think the print is super beautiful, but pink is not really a color that I wear a lot. Not that I don’t like it, but the color just doesn’t suit me! And this kind a caftan dress is not the best fit for me, it’s wide and pretty formless. But the urge to own the dress was greater than the fact that someone in my head told me: don’t, it’s not a dress for you!
Pink graphic print dress, not very flattering but I love it
But why should we even listen to those annoying voices at all? (or am I the only one with those voices in my head…..) Fashion is not bound by rules or boundaries. You just have to wear what you like and what makes you feel good when wearing it! And whether it is a color that does not suit you, or a dress that is not very flattering! Who cares! If you feel good about it that’s what matters! And I feel great in this dress!
But have to be honest, I now, since having had a color analysis, take better care of buying what suits me, colors that suits me best. But sometimes you just stumble on something that really appeals to you and it hasn’t got the colors that work best for you. But now that the sun kissed my skin a few times I can handle the lighter colors a bit better.
White accessories on a graphic print dress
I love these white statement earrings. They are not the lightest, and I am a bit afraid my earlobe is going to rip one day. The sandals fit perfect with these kind of dresses I think. I bought a size larger of the dress as a m was a bit snug on some areas, which looks so dreadful. I also bought a small white bag where I can put my phone and cards and a lipstick in. For when I have to use the wheelchair. Because my other bag hangs behind me then and I always have to ask Gerben to get my phone or cards whenever I want to buy something or take a photo. And it looks great on this pink graphic print dress! Also added a white plastic bracelet.
I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!

That dress is such a beauty and I like the loser fit! Especially when it gets hot, it’ll be nice and breathable. You could try adding a belt to cinch it in, but I Think it is perfect. Pink is a color I love and that pattern is so cute.

that’s a beautiful dress! I think you can definitely wear pink! And I agree, I have a few pieces in my wardrobe that aren’t “my colour” or aren’t right for me but I love and wear them anyway – as how I feel about something is always more important than any “rules”!
Thanks for the link up 🙂
Hope your week is going well 🙂 Cold week here!

It is, we should never be restricted by rules!
I really like the print of this dress and the white accessories look so good with it. I think the color suits you maybe because it is a print. That little white purse is perfect for what you need it for, I always like a crossbody.

Thanks, still doubting if I should wear it tonight. Going out for dinner with friends, this comment helps!
We have to trust our own instinct, don’t we? Even if Dee doesn’t like something I’m wearing but I do, then I’m wearing it! This dress was a good choice Nancy xx

Spot on Nancy! or should I say square on! Color Analysis is just that, knowing what your best colors are but putting yourself completely in control to choose exactly what makes you feel good at any particular moment. Who’s to know how you feel only YOU!

I love the dress on you, Nancy! I’m surprised to hear that pink doesn’t suit you – I think it does! You look gorgeous. I love that kind of dress for the summer, only with a shorter sleeve.

Haha, watch my IG, I altered the dress….and the sleeves!
Aw, Nancy, thanks so much for featuring my birthday post! That was such a wonderful and unexpected surprise as I was getting all excited over your amazing kaftan dress! I love this dress on you! And those sandals are summer perfect! I agree that sometimes we have to buy and wear things just because we love them even if they are not the most flattering color or style. I have been buying lots of orange and yellow lately, both colors that are not great with my coloring, but they are colors that are making me happy and so I am going to wear them! Great post and fabulous outfit!

I don’t think it’s unflattering – we can definitely see there’s a great shape underneath! I usually try to avoid shapeless dresses too because I need fitted things. I love the pattern and colour.
Author
Thanks Gail, I normally don’t wear these kind a roomy dresses, but fell for the color and pattern!

That graphic print dress is stunning, Nancy, and kaftan dresses are just perfect for this kind of weather. It is not pink pink, if you know what I mean, and I certainly think you can wear that colour. Love the white accessories! xxx
Author
Thanks Ann, I love the white accessories too with the dress!
I have those fashion voices in my head too and they often stop me from even trying on the outfit! I’ve started ignoring them more and more though because I’m not even entirely sure where they came from and sometimes I really like said outfit that I think won’t look good on me so why not?! I think your dress is very pretty and this was probably one of those times it was good to ignore those voices.

So glad you bought this unique dress even if it isn’t your perfect color. Love that print. Feels very ’60s to me. Great accessories too. Always stylish.

Yes indeed, such a retro feel!
It IS a dress for you if you like it and it makes you feel good!! I have to say, I love it on you! You are so right about that gorgeous print, Nancy! It’s so cute and perky for spring and summer!

Thanks Darlene! Yes the print is fab, fell in love with it straight away!
I’m glad you bought it Nancy. It’s truly so stunning on you, even if it isn’t your perfect color. I think sometimes wearing a different color and/or style than our normal is one way to get a little change of pace. And I feel that many times we get more compliments that way because it is different.
Anyways, it’s absolutely gorgeous on you!!!

Nancy,
While the silhouette of this dress is not one you normally wear, I won’t say that it doesn’t flatter you. I think you look great. The pattern is a little bit retro, a little bit modern and the overall effect lengthens you visually. It’s good that you listened to your gut instead of your head,

Thanks Cheryl, I do like pink but almost never wear it.
This pink printed dress is my favorite one you own and I love it with all the white accessories. Fabulous earrings. Up until ten years ago I owned very little pink myself but I ended up changing that lol.
