- Today I am wearing a pre loved dress from a Dutch fashion designer.
I live in a small country, but we produced amazing Dutch fashion designers. I mention a few: Viktor & Rolf, Claes Iversen, Iris van Herpen, Jan Taminiau, Spijkers & Spijkers, Fong Leng. And the list goes on for much longer. All designers who have made a name for themselves and have their own unique style.
Dutch fashion designer Mart Visser
Another Dutch fashion designer is Mart Visser. Not only does he design clothing, he is also an artist and recently he has his own furniture line. I’ll just stick with the clothes. I do like Mart Visser’s clothing. It is elegant and somewhat classic and fairly modest. Not many frills. I don’t like that. I like my fashion simple. The reason I fell for this dress is the same print in opposite colors. I once saw a Diane von Furstenberg dress that also had that and immediately fell in love with it. I’ll tell you even more, I have the dress! But that is a very nice story for next time.
How to style a classic dress a bit more cool ish
This dress is pre loved and made of silk. So very thin and actually too cold for now, but that is something we can work on right? I just wear a basic shirt and a jacket over and done. I actually also wear a camisole! The dress is rather classic, Mart Visser designs are pretty classic, and I like to wear it a bit cooler. I love classic designs but for me it always has to add a bit of contrast. I do that by wearing patent leather leggings and black ankle boots. And a very cool military jacket.
Do you know any Dutch fashion designers? And if you do, who is your favorite? Perhaps you even own a garment from a Dutch fashion designer. Let me know, or even better show me on Instagram with #nancysstyleandyours
Shop the look!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
I don’t know any Dutch fashion designers – or I should say I didn’t know any until you just shared them! Honestly I am not really in the know when it comes to designers anywhere, they’re usually out of my price range! This looks great on you Nancy and you wear these pieces so well!
They are also out of my price range, I got lucky with this pre loved one.
Just like Kellyan, I am not really in the know when it comes to designers anywhere, but I love the way you paired this dress with the military jacket, ankle boots and leather pants. Like you, I love contrasts and this outfit shows it very well! Besides, I like the idea of wearing outfits with two colors… like yours!
Thank you very much!
Hi Nancy, I don’t know too much about fashion designers. This dress is fabulous and I love the way you styled it. Very edgy. Rgds, Lise
Nancy, this dress is super cool! And I love the way you have styled it for cold weather. At first, I thought you were wearing over the knee boots. I didn’t realize it was leather leggings. Very sassy! I am not familiar with any Dutch designers, but I really like this dress, so I will have to do some homework on the topic! Thanks for linking up!
Thank you very much Shelby. I wore these leggings once with patent leather ankle boots and that looked like otk boots!
I love this look Nancy. It’s a wonderful dress and will be great for the warmer months too. I don’t think I know any Dutch fashion designers, but I’m pretty ignorant about designers in the first place.
Thanks Jodie. When I went to school I was totally ,,into,, designers from that time. Not that I wore them, but I was very interested in them.
Super leuke jurk! Ik hou ook van dat grafische!
Ja ik ook, daar val ik altijd op!
That is a beautiful dress and I like the contrast of the prints together! I don’t have any Dutch fashion designer pieces in my wardrobe but maybe one day! 🙂 Aside from bags I don’t have much designer stuff!
Hope that your week is going well 🙂 It’s a busy week here as it’s my first week back at work after the Christmas break! I’ve got what I wore for Christmas up on the blog now.
Thanks Mica, have a good first week!
Wow! You are killing this look, Nancy! So sharp!
Happy Wednesay, babe!
I think that gorgeous dress has a certain edge to it, and I love how you elaborated on that by styling it with those patent leather leggings. I ‘m loving this monochromatic look! I’m ashamed to admit that apart from Viktor & Rolf, I didn’t know any of the designers you mentioned. Sorry! xxx
There are a few very good Dutch designers. Our Queen often wears Dutch design.
I really don’t know much about designers but love this fun ouftit with the leggings.
Sadly no dutch fashion designer in my closet 🙂
You look fabulous Nancy, geat you find this wonderful dress pre loved 😉
How fun to style a Dutch designed dress, I love the pattern mixing on it and the buttons on your jacket are fab.
Gorgeous dress Nancy! It looks fabulous with the faux leather leggings. I love Scotch & Soda and Pom Amsterdam – I discovered them thanks to Jacynth at the Bias Cut 🙂
Scotch&Soda is a brand that I also wore when I was 17! It is still a great brand!
This dress is drop dead gorgeous and so are you dear!
You are staying warm in the cold weather and looking FAB! I didn’t know about Dutch designers, but I know now.
I LOVE the dress Nancy and it looks very cool with the leggings and ankle boots. How lucky you were to find a pre loved designer silk dress! Thanks for linking at #WowOnWednesday.
I love Iris Van Herpen’s dresses, and I know Viktor & Rolf as well. I don’t know any others and I even checked Wikipedia to be sure: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Dutch_fashion_designers.
This is a lovely dress – I love a black and white print. Oddly, I have a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress in a very similar print!
Oh really? We should do a post together with our DVF dress!
Nancy, I love the dress, and it looks fabulous on you! You’ve styled it well – just a bit of edginess. Well done!
Thank you very much!
Fabulous black and white outfit, I’m styling these shades today, thanks for adding to the #linkup Jacqui x
I saw! And I loved it!
