Military-style jackets are having a revival in fashion land. So you will see me actually not wearing them often this season. Because when something that I loved forever is en vogue, I don’t like it that much for that time. Yes I know I am a bit weird. But these photo’s are a few months old, before military style became a trend again. And I wanted to show you my lovely wrap dress.
And only two weeks until Christmas. Unbelievable, actually. We still have to put up the tree, hopefully this weekend. We are always a bit late with the decorations. I am early with the Christmas cards though. They are on their way as we speak. But what did I do last week?
Do you like the military style?
- Tapas when we went out for dinner with friends.
- Cauliflower curry with corn pancake on Wednesday.
- Stuffed peppers on Monday.
Friday night we went out for dinner with friends. Tapas! I love it. All kinds of little snacks, different flavours. It was so cozy and delicious as always! Gerben had to work on Saturday. Now, I always find it boring when he has to work on the weekend, but this time he didn’t get home until 10:30 p.m. So that was totally unpleasant. During the day I worked out and cleaned.

On Sunday we went to the national park for a bit of fresh air. And half way, we stopped for a filled cookie and hot chocolate. In the evening we had a delicious meal, beef stew with stewed pears, Roquefort cheese, and walnuts, with oven-baked fries. On Monday, the cleaning lady came, and Gerben had half a day off. Of course, I worked out and did the laundry, etc.
See more wrap dresses next Tuesday!
- I live in these super soft trousers, here with a burgundy cardigan and black lace top.
- Hot chocolate while walking in the park.
- My outfit when we went outt for dinner. Burgundy skirt and grey top.
The rest of the week was nothing special. I had a dentist appointment that got canceled. While I was eating breakfast. So I was able to enjoy another cup of coffee. And on Wednesday I did some things, writing, for when I’m no longer around. Yeah, I’m a cheerful person. But some things need to be taken care of. So I didn’t feel good about that all day either. Oh well, at least it’s done. Thursday I had a meeting in the evening of my volunteer work for the council.
I bought this wrap dress at Vinted. The colours are a bit indefinable. Navy or black, green or grey, but that doesn’t change the fact that the combination is gorgeous. And the military-style jacket goes so well with it. I’ve had this jacket for years, and it’s a bit like neoprene. Totally on trend again, as I said. I especially love the contrast between the super feminine wrap dress and the cool military jacket. If you want to see more wrap dresses, you should check our The Good Buy/Good Bye Book on Tuesday!

Love the wrap dress colours and swirls, and how you toughened it up with the military jacket. The beef stew with stewed pears, Roquefort cheese, and walnuts sounds delicious!

Thanks Jennifer.
I love the combination of the dress + jacket! I know what you mean about not being as into something when it becomes a trend – isn’t it funny how that can happen?
Author
Indeed! Because I always want to know what the trends are and most of them I love!
Nancy, love this outfit, and these colors on you! Funny, I do the same thing when something starts trending, that is a part of my normal wardrobe rotation. I usually don’t wear it as often. Your food always looks so fabulous-I want to eat it right off my computer screen! We are late in getting our Christmas things out this year, as well. The tree is up, but the decorations are still in the basement. Hope to make soon progress on that this weekend. Thanks for hosting the link up and hope you have a nice relaxing weekend!

Phew, I’m glad we’re not the only ones who haven’t put up the Christmas tree yet. We’ve planned it for tomorrow! And I haven’t even done a single card yet 🙁
I love the way you “toughened up” your wrap dress with that fabulous military style jacket. That’s such a great outfit!
It must have been hard when Gerben had to work until 10.30 pm on Saturday, but I’m glad you were able to spend some time getting fresh air at the national park! We didn’t even leave the house on Sunday, as it was gloomy and raining all day! xxx

Well, when we left the park it started raining. So we were very lucky!
I style like military style jackets and I have one in my closet. It also has embroidery on it. I haven’t worn it much lately. Your meals on Sunday night sounds quite delicious. Roquefort cheese is one of my favorites! This week has been busy with visiting my parents twice, errands, a haircut today, etc! I gave myself one day to have a little fun and thrift. Need to look at next week to make sure I have another morning like that.

It’s the kind of jacket that you like to wear once in a while isn’t it? Totally my pleasure Emma!
