You can read here why everyone should have a black turtle neck! So simple and yet so stylish! Just like a culotte, simple but so elegant. At least I think so.
If there is some kind of trousers that I really like, it’s the culotte. When I just started blogging, I once bought a black culotte. Unfortunately I can’t show it anymore on the blog, and I can’t find the photo’s anywhere. But it just suddenly comes to my mind that there are of course still a lot of photos on my old laptop! I already wondered where a lot of photos had gone.
Such a mess my laptop is, so clean this culotte look is![houndstooth culotte in brown](https://nancysfashionstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/houndstooth-culotte-5.jpg)
Funny actually, that I am so incredibly orderly with everything. You won’t find junk anywhere in my house. Everything has been cleaned up and I know where everything is. But my laptop is a big mess. Mails that are in different folders at different email addresses. Documents that are not registered by name and so on. Sometimes I get crazy of it. But apparently not crazy enough to organize it.
How I love to wear a culotte![simple yet stylish, culotte](https://nancysfashionstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/houndstooth-culotte-4.jpg)
Anyway, the culotte. That first one was a black cotton one and as stiff as ….. well in the Netherlands we have an expression for that I will spare you. I also didn’t like it at all. But I still gave it a second chance when I bought this one from Zara a few years ago. I love these culottes and have worn them many times. I even have one of denim! And now they had the same culotte, as the black and white one, at Zara but in brown! Got to have!
This one is thinner in fabric and that is why I have applied quite a few layers that you unfortunately see in the pictures. Under the turtleneck I wear a shirt and a basic shirt with long sleeves. Next time pay attention ….. Gerben! I also keep the outfit simple, with a statement ring purchased in an antique shop in Lewes and gold-colored loops.
I love these kind of simple outfits! Nothing fancy, just a stylish simple black turtle neck, some good culottes and leather boots! And a quirky ring! And quirky me…..
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!

Ooh, I love culottes. I had an amazing pair of vintage Jones New York ones years ago that I miss now! Ah well. These look amazing on you, Nancy, and I’ve come around on turtlenecks over the past couple of years. Your accessories are divine – they are perfect with this outfit. Have a great weekend, Nancy!

I’ve always loved culottes, ever since I wore my first pair back in the 1980s. They were black and very basic, but I wore it with a thrifted 1930s blouse, and oh my did I love that outfit! Yours are gorgeous, just the right length, which is often a problem for tiny me. And yes, everybody should own a black turtleneck! And what I surprise I had at the end of your post, upon finding me and my twin staring back at me. You are too kind, Nancy, and you certainly made my day :-)))) xxx

I love the culottes and the length, styled with the booties and the turtleneck jumper! I wear a lot of turtleneck jumpers in winter, especially if I don’t want to wear a scarf.

I love these culottes! I think culottes in general are a very versatile outfit, you can style them anywhich way. On top they are super comfy (provided the fabric is good), stylish and functional at the same time.

Nancy, I absolutely love this outfit! The silhouette is so striking with the fitted turtleneck and those gorgeous pants. I am loving your boots, too. I have a few pairs of culottes but havenβt worn them this year. I need to get them out. Whenever I see (or wear) a fitted black turtleneck, I am always reminded of that iconic photo of Princess Diana when she was on the cover of Vogue!
