Today I’m showing you a checkered dress that I am completely in love with. Not because it is such a great design, it is a super simple dress. (not that you’re used to anything else from me) Not because it’s so nice and warm, it’s a super thin dress. But because of the colours! I hear you thinking: colours? Is that what you call colours?Yes… I really enjoy all the beautiful autumn colours. Not only in the collections but also outside in nature, of course. It’s all yellow, brown, green and red in our garden.
Checkered dress in not the usual colours
I don’t know if you’ve noticed in recent weeks, but we have new paving around the house. All grey now. And next year the outside of the house will be painted completely white! Can’t wait until that happens. I always wanted to live in a white bungalow. But many conives have also been removed from the garden, making the garden much brighter and all plants and shrubs much more visible. The garden also seems even bigger. But I noticed the beautiful colours much more now, and I really enjoy them.
This checkered dress has beautiful green and grey tones with a gold thread in it! What a bonus that is. Green, olive green that is, and grey work perfect together and the gold lifts it a bit up. I love checkered clothing, but have nothing else in my closet then this dress. Strange. I find myself often wondering why I don’t have more of a print I really love. I guess you can’t have it all right?
Need to layer a lot with this dress
I wear leggings underneath and two basic shirts and a warm cardigan over it, because otherwise it is way too cold for me! The checkered dress is belted with a cool leather brown belt with golden buckle. And also the buttons on the cardigan are gold which compliments the gold thread in the dress.
The bracelet brings back the brown in the outfit and a statement ring from Lewes is a pre loved one. And simple golden earrings. By the way, I now remember that I also have this checkered blazer in my closet…..so two items. Can’t wait to wear this dress more, also with these fabulous boots. For a sitting party…
I actually never wear those white boots as the heel is to high for me. But they are to fabulous to sell on. Have you btw tried Sellphy for buying or selling? I am not a fan. I send two huge bags with clothing to sell, it takes months before they have processed them. And I only sold one item. The advantage is that you have to do nothing, just wait, lol. But Vinted isn’t all that lately either. Sellers that don’t send the items I bought, don’t answer back etc. And nothing really special for sale. Or is that just me?

These autumn greens are wonderful on you. I love the boots. I’m not too keen on Vinted, everything is poorly packed and clothes are dirty. Ebay has improved a lot, easier to use.

Love your dress Nancy – perfect tones and textures for this time of year. I have things to sell but find the whole process on the selling sites time taking and laborious. Plus, I’ve had problems with things not arriving both eBay and vinted. Love your block paving – we were supposed to get the outside of our house painted this year, alas, we were let down by the decorator, hence it’ll have to wait. x

I love wearing summer dresses when it’s cold because it’s fun to add leggings or thermal tights, long sleeve tops and cardigans! I think the dress is fabulous! I would prefer the colours to be a bit deeper for my own skin tone but anything with a gold thread throughout is a yes for me!!
