I am wearing a muted purple blazer today, that hasn’t seen the daylight for a few years. So I wanted to give it a last chance! Last weekend was a wonderfully warm spring weekend and I enjoyed the sun to the fullest! I am looking forward to the beginning of April.
Not only because then spring will really be in sight again, because in the meantime it is super cold here again. But because then I have a conversation with the transplant doctor about whether I should already be screened. This means that I have to stay in the hospital for a week, then you get tests all day long to see if you are suitable for transplantation. Exciting times!
Muted purple blazer, lovely colour….but that’s all
Muted colours suit me but they always seem to be so hard to find. Oh and don’t pay attention to my toenails, which of course you are doing now. I was advised by the pedicure last winter not to paint my toenails in the winter because I had a bit of fungus on two nails. Ugh! What the hell! Now I had to get used to getting through the winter with unpainted nails, really can’t remember when I ever had unpainted nails.
But now I went last week to her and still no nail polish! Oh horrible, so next time I’ll wear flip-flops and sandals with unpainted toenails, horror. She cut off the fungus, there was very little left, and hopefully it will be gone again next time, which is over 3 months! I hate this. Anyway….. the colour of the blazer is the only thing I like about it. ( I came to this realisation while writing and editing this post)
Different shades of purple/red together
I wanted to wear the blazer with my green trousers at first, but that was a bit too colourful for me so I wore my boyfriend jeans with it. After taking the pictures I immediately changed because it was just warm! But I’m enjoying the sun while I can with reading a book in the garden. I’m wearing such a lovely basic sweater from Zara under the muted blazer. They are so nice and elastic and they come in so many colours! Also with short sleeves.
I think the blazer is too wide, yeah hello, it’s a oversized one Nancy, and I’m done with double breasted. Too bad, because like I said, I really like the muted purple colour. Maybe I’ll give it another chance on a dress or a tight denim skirt, but I don’t think that is going to happen.
The peeptoes are old and not really the prettiest anymore, but I love peeptoe ankle boots! And the leather is so wonderfully soft, and the colour is gorgeous. I’ll take them to the cobbler, see if he can make something of the slightly worn heels. A few golden and purple accessories. The sunnies where a gift of GlassesShop and am I feeling great in this outfit? No! I am done with the blazer.
And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!
Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party.
My Fancy Friday Favourite of last week is: Amber of The Hungry Mountaineer
I would also appreciate if you shared a link to Nancy’s Fashion Style in your post or give a little shout out on social media to promote the Fancy Friday linkup party! And now share your post!

What a gorgeous shade of purple! I love it.

Thank you Andrea!
I must say how utterly fabulous you look in jeans! The purple jacket is a lovely colour.
Author
Haha, I still don’t see what is fabulous about jeans. However I feel great in my wide legged ones! Thanks Gail.
I love seeing you in this color! This is such a chic look. Wishing you luck with this screening process. Thanks for the link up!

Nancy, I am excited about the possibility of transplantation for you! I am keeping you in my prayers!
I like the blazer, especially paired with the denim. But I know you don’t love it so let it go, someone else will enjoy it!
Nail fungus takes forever to grow out, glad you are almost there!
I hope you have a sunshine filled, warm weekend!

Thank you very much Kellyann, I could use a lot of prayers by the time it comes to it! Yes, but she now cut out a lot so it looks weird but it is gone for now! Thanks love!
This is such a chic combo! Those jeans look amazing on you and I love your purple blazer! Thank you for the linkup!

I just put a teal blazer in my donation pile. I only had paid a dollar for it and loved the color but it was just a little too fitted for me. So I understand what you are saying about this blazer being too oversized for your taste even though I think it looks really cool in this outfit. I never paint my toenails in the winter, but need to go soon. I might do another half marathon so I might wait.

Oh cool, a half marathon! I want to run too when I had a transplant! Thanks Mireille.
This is a beautiful color combination and I love this look, Nancy! I will pray for you that your screening process goes well. I have also dealt with nail fungus and it is a huge pain! Anyway, I hope that the sun shines bright for you this weekend and that you get to enjoy it! XO, Caroline

I mist say you look fab in your blazer, unique color. love it.

Thanks Melody!
That is a gorgeous shade of purple, but I hear you that sometimes the color turns out to be the only thing you love about a piece of clothing. If you don’t feel great in it, life’s too short for that!
Author
Haha, yes indeed Sally! Thank you.
Nancy, this blazer is a beautiful, unusual color. I love the way you styled it casually, with denim. Sometimes I try belting a jacket that is a bit too big-maybe worth a shop. My nails are very strong and healthy, unless I polish them! The polish, or possibly the remover, makes them soft and crack, so I have to forgo. Holding you in the light and wishing you the very best for your transplant testing. Hope you have a good weekend, and thanks so much for hosting the link a party!
Author
Yes the remover does that, but I always use gel. The blazer is too boxy to belt, you get weird fawlts everywhere.Thank you very much Di!
I adore the blazer and love how you paired it for this look. Sending love and hugs,
XOXO

Oh thank you very much Cheryl, that is super kind of you!
The blazer really is the most gorgeous colour, Nancy. Of course, I would have worn it with the green trousers 🙂
Ugh about the toe nails … I never paint mine during Winter but it must be frustrating not being able to do so come Spring!
Keeping my fingers crossed for your hospital screening, Nancy. Must be exciting but also scary, I guess. xxx
Author
Haha, I think I liked it better with rhe green trousers actually. These jeans bore me.Yes it is super scary Ann, and stressful. But no choice!
That is such a pretty color but I can see how it might be too boxy and big; tailored blazers are always more flattering (says the person who never ever wears any of hers!).
Author
Haha, we always know the best for others don’t we? Thanks Joanne!
I LOVE purple and red together. Your blazer still looks great. But your sandals are the bomb!
Author
Haha, yes they are so good! I want to display them in my living room, lol.
Hi, Nancy – Contrary to what you think, I believe these shoes look fantastic on you! I really enjoyed this post. 🙂 Thanks for sharing – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

THank you very much Angie!
I’m with you on double breasted oversized blazers. I know they are trending but they just aren’t flattering on me. Love the color though! Hopefully you can find a different one in that shade!
Author
On me neither, so I will ban them! Thanks Laura!
Colours look great as do the jeans Nancy. Thanks for hosting the linkup. Jacqui xx

And here you are! Lol. Thanks Jacqui!
Love the purple blazer, but I just can’t wear blazers. I feel so weird in them. I hate that daggone nail fungus. I’ve had it a couple of times and think I got it at the nail place in the first place! I hope your tests come out good and you can get your transplant! I’m sure being in the hospital is not fun at all. I would link up, but my laptop is being wonky again.

I really like the blazer, it looks great with the darker jumper and pink shoes!
