Today a different post than normal, namely about our festival weekend. I really enjoy recording this on the blog. I also did Throwback Tuesday years ago. Had so much fun writing, editing and reading that. Maybe I’ll do it again. But I do wonder who on earth would like to read that. On the other hand, I really like reading the daily things by other bloggers! Who knows! Now we’re going to talk about the festival weekend.
Time for festival weekend
- It rained on the first night
- during the fabulous Alice Cooper
- and this is how my wheelchair looke like…….
We went to Weert for Bospop with Paul and Celina. A somewhat smaller festival with a more alternative audience than, for example, Pinkpop. Where the last time when we were there, I saw so many sniffing and swallowing people around me, not my thing. We rented a bungalow on a park for three nights. When we arrived we had dinner first, Paul had cooked delicious mussels. Then through the rain to the festival site.
- Enjoying a sunny Sunday
- Alice Cooper
- Celina and me looking fabulously……
Because we had to go to another parking lot, the Miva (disabled) parking lot was a big muddy mess, we arrived a little late at the area where Alice Cooper had already started. That’s mainly what we came for. Also for Heart, but they were cancelled. And we hadn’t been standing therefor 5 minutes before I was asked if I wanted to answer some questions for a TV program! Hahaha, so I was also on TV that evening! Like 5 seconds!
Bospop weekend
- Gerben doesn’t want to be on my blog……….I am in charge
- Sunday evening
- impression of the festival area
Alice Cooper was great! What a show! In the rain and in the mud, but that didn’t spoil the fun. I can totally get lost in the music when I really love it. I don’t notice anything at all around me, I am just one with the music and that was so with Alice Cooper! We saw John Fogerty also and that was the start of the festival weekend for us. The next day Gerben and I stayed at the bungalow park because there were no bands that we wanted to see. We had a lovely walk, the sun finally shone, and we went out for pizza.
- Gerben made English breakfast………..forgot the eggs……..
- John Fogerty
- Paul made mussels Frech style
On Sunday afternoon we went to the festival and saw The Wolff, Son Mieux and Direct, among others. Enjoyed the sun, good food, people watching. The atmosphere at such a festival is so wonderfully relaxed. Gerben and I don’t like crowds of people at all. But because the atmosphere is so good, you don’t notice that there are so many people. It was another wonderful weekend and I can’t wait for next year’s lineup to be announced!
- With Paul and Celina
- On the telly
- Denise took photo’s from the telly…….not my best shot…….

By joining the Fancy Friday party, you agree to receive a weekly reminder email for the linkup party.
I’ve always wanted to see Alice Cooper! Sounds a great festival. I went to BST Hyde Park last week to see Kylie Minogue and it was great to be in such a friendly and happy crowd. Makes all the difference.

Oh what a fun weekend except for the mud! I imagine it can be quite difficult getting your wheelchair through the festival mud. But I love how you just go with the flow and enjoy yourself anyway! I can’t wait to hear more about it on our next Zoom chat. You will need to explain to me then…what are “sniffing and swallowing people”?! LOL

Nancy, it looks like you had a fabulous time at the festive, in spite of the hiccup of the rain! What a great weekend it must have been with Alice Cooper headlining. I know he put on a terrific show and I love John Fogerty, too. Roger, my husband, is very game to be in my pictures and quite a ham! Your photos are always great, so many thanks to Gerben for taking them. He is a big part of your blog even though he likes to stay behind the camera and not in front of it. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for sharing this experience with us!

Haha, yeah it scared the hell out of him when he saw my blogpost! Alice Cooper was amazing!
So fun to see a picture of Gerben! I enjoy these posts because I see a little bit of the world and life of others. I have never been to a concert so I can live through your blog post today! Looks like quite a fun time!

It was such a good weekend! Can’t wait for next year! Thanks Marsha!
I can totally relate to the joy of sharing personal stories and experiences on a blog. Even if it’s not the typical content, your enthusiasm for the festival and the detailed recounting make it a fun read. Who knows, maybe Throwback Tuesday will make a comeback, and your readers will love it!
By the way, I’ve just posted a new blog entry on how to style jeans and a tank top for a date night. I think you might enjoy it, and I’d love to hear your thoughts! You can check it out here: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/07/how-to-style-jeans-and-tank-top-for-date-night.html.

He was fabulous Jess! If you have the chance you should go to a show!
I’ve seen Alice Cooper in concert twice, and he is such a great show – I love that his wife and daughter dance onstage with him after all these years. Lovely to see Gerben! I used to digitally stick a picture of George Clooney over L’s face back in the early days of my blog, but now he often photo-bombs me!
Thanks for hosting the link-party, Nancy!
