Yes, here I am again with elastic waistband trousers. I already showed you these beautiful green ones and told you that several colours were in my shopping cart. After months, this navy one was finally discounted. Because I didn’t want to pay the full price, because the green was was also discounted, under €30! And I immediately hit my stride. The grey variant is still sold out but I’ll wait patiently! Eventually it will end up in my closet too. Mark my words!
Gosh, I just love elastic waistband trousers, so what!
I recently read somewhere that there are certain items of clothing that you should no longer wear above 50. One of them was trousers with an elastic waistband. What nonsense. But I have to be very honest and say that my grandmother used to have trousers with an elastic waistband and I really hated it when I was in puberty. Oops. But there is an elastic waistband and there is an elastic waistband. These look really good. It has a fake fly and loops for the belt, so that’s a lot better than just elastic, right? These elastic waistband trousers are really so perfect. They fit just right at the waist and the length couldn’t be better.
How to wear elastic waistband trousers
It’s not rocket science of course, the title just works for my SEO…..yes, I am like that….I love to wear these types of trousers with white sneakers. but I think they are getting a bit out of date. I don’t care, I still think it looks nice. In spring I will wear them though. I no longer have blue boots, otherwise I would probably have worn them because I love the monochrome look. Oops, shopping moment,,,,,looking for blue boots. The sweater has a glint. The jacket has mega shoulder padding. I love it. I think brown and blue are a very nice colour combination that I like to wear. Soon I will show you the gray version of these pants because yes! In the pocket! Discounted! What a lucky person I am, lol.
Note: The grey pair was send back. It was in the same series as the other two elastic waistband trousers, but was about 4 cm. shorter which looked so shabby. I already washed and ironed them and then I thought, mmm, let’s try them on, they look shorter. What a bummer!

Elasticated anything used to be bad but styles have improved enormously! Love these colours, great styling.

Yeah indeed, lucky us right! Thanks Gail.
Wow! First of all, you cannot tell they have an elastic waistband and they look beautiful combined with the brown. I really like elastic waistband because they are so comfortable and I think they make them to look much more fashionable than they did 20-30 years ago. I am sorry the grey didn’t work out, I never understand when they change the measurements when it is supposed to be the same item but just another color.

I agree that an elastic waist band pants now are completely different than what our grandmother’s wore. Lol! Love the layers in this look and the color of the pants is fabulous. Can’t wait to see your grey pair. 🙂 Thanks for the link up Nancy!

You look fantastic in this amazing outfit. I say, yes to elastic waistbands. They are styled completely different from years ago and comfort is key to looking good.

I agree with you! Uncomfortable is for teens, haha, I was once!
These look great on you Nancy! Elastic waistband pants are not what they used to be, they have come a long way!!

Oh yes, they do! My grandmothers ones look ery different then mine!
I can’t believe someone said you shouldn’t wear elastic waistbands over 50. That’s when we need them the most, when our waistlines are wider than the rest of our body ha ha. I can’t even tell those are elastic waistband because of the belt loops. I have a pair of pull on jeans that I just love and they also have a faux zipper and belt loops. They just work for me because they stretch where I need the extra stretch yet fit everywhere else. You look amazing. Love the color combo.

Those trousers look fantastic on you! I also see a lot of younger European influencers wearing them with sneakers so I don’t think that they are dated. Anyway! I love how you styled them and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend! xo

Hahaha, or any weekend actually, lol.
I always wondered why people talked about waist sizes changing! Haha, we all get there. Yes, elasticated waisted trousers thankfully are far different to the ones of old, how lucky we are. Looking great today!

What a shame that the grey trousers were so much shorter!!! I’d have been so mad!! The blue ones look fabulous though, and I love the wide leg. I’m not a fan of elastic waistbands but sometimes, you know, they’re just more comfortable, right!!
Big hugs

Love the brown and blue color combination of this outfit, and your styling Nancy! I would have never known the trousers have an elastic waist band unless you had mentioned it. They have indeed come a long way in the past 20 years! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for sharing and the link up party!

I think the newer elastic waist pants have come a long way from what my grandmother used to wear; I’d never wear the traditional elastic waist but nearly all my pants have the wide yoga pant look waist and I love them. Add in some belt loops and a faux zipper and I don’t think anyone can even tell they’re elastic waist!
Author
Haha, isn’t that great right! We can fool everyone!
I’d never have guessed those trousers had an elastic waistband. So why not, if they’re comfortable and look good? Never mind those so-called fashion rules, I wonder who makes up such nonsense!
I loved how you styled this pair. The blazer and the statement necklace add just the right colour kick.
What a bummer about the grey pair, though … xxx
Author
Well, actually it wasn’t a very pretty shede of grey so it wasn’t that bad. And it was not that I had nothing to wear, lol.
I do think the elastic waistband pants of today are different than the ones from yesteryear!
And why not have the convenience of them when they look that good?!

I love this colour combination! I have lots of pairs of trousers with an elasticated waistband – Marks and Spencer do some great ones. I buy them in multiple colours when they’re on sale.

Nancy, you make me chuckle! You have an adorable personality. Elastic waistband pants are so comfortable. The trick is to wear a top over them or belt them as you do here. I’ll bet your grandmother was tucking her top into the elastic waist pants. Thanks for the linkup! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

Haha, no Angie, she wasn’t that bad! She actually was always very elegant, but those trousers…..I hated them.
I love reading your posts, Nancy…SEO or whatever! I would never have guessed these had an elastic waist. They look very elegant. Love navy and brown together, too! Thanks for the link up.
Have a fabulous weekend, Nancy!

Hi Nancy!
You made me laugh with the title! Yes.. my granny wore elastic waist polyester pants. There is a big difference though. YOurs look quite stylish, and the length is perfect. I love the boots with the outfit too!
I have bought multiples of stuff I really like this year.

Agree with the commenters – over 50 is when we need our elastic waists the most! Today’s trousers are much classier than our grannies’ were, especially your gorgeous blue ones, Nancy! Love this outfit – the caramel + blue is a winning combination and looks lovely on you. Thank you for the link party!
