I was feeling a bit monochrome blue! In my outfit and mentaly.
Sometimes you can become completely melangolic when you hear a certain number on the radio. I recently had that when I heard Heart with Cracy on you. That number brought me back in decades. Not that it was a time I would like to think back to. My life only got good when I started a relationship with Gerben.
But I started to think that so much time had passed and that time goes so fast. Sometimes I just find it a bit scary. But a song like that makes you think back. To things that you would have wanted to do differently. How you felt then, what you then wanted from life, etc. Perhaps it is also because one of the people with whom I have rehabilitated, we still come together every year for dinner, has died. She was a very strong and tough woman and she will be missed. So I was a bit melangolic and it is a pity that the years pass so quickly. On the other hand, I am much older now than I ever thought I would become. So …… gone with those dark thoughts! Enjoy! Every day!
I love monochrome looks, especially blue ones
I have worn a monochrome blue outfit before, as you can see here. You may remember the boots from this outfit. I no longer have that sweater because it was so irritating. So I bought this one instead. I already had the pleated skirt. I love this look, the colors look great together. I will certainly wear it again this season, because I wanted to wear the pleated skirt with a sweater. And I love to wear monochrome looks.
I recently bought new blue ankle boots but also brought them back. The heel was too high. Such a shame, I like a high heel. But walking is already going so badly, and heels are totally tiring. If I go somewhere where I have to walk, I usually no longer wear heels. Which I think is a shame, I don’t like flat heels that much. Haha, this is not a very cheerful post I see. I apologize. I hope at least you like my outfit!
Have a great day!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my outfit on Pinterest. Click on the button in the button on the left!
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
Blue is great for you Nancy. I think better comfortable shoes you can walk, than heels you can only sit. :))
You look gorgeous:)
Haha, sometimes just want to put on my sitting shoes! Thanks Tina!
Love the monochrome blue look and i think the blue boots are so perfect with it! 🙂
Hope that your week is off to a good start and you get over the melancholy mood soon! You do look great for feeling sad!
Thank you very much Mica!
I think we need to have these melancholic moments from time to time to allow us to be happy the rest of the time! Wouldn’t you agree, Nancy? It can be difficult to accept how time passes so quickly but it also shows us how we must try and have as much joy as we can.
I also love to wear monochromatic styles every now and again and so I love your blue outfit! It’s a shame we can’t really wear heels any more, isn’t it? But they were never very comfortable were they? lol!!
No they weren’t! Haha, I can still feel the pain in my toes after a night out with heels! Thanks Suzy!
Blue is a great color on you! It’s a very pretty outfit. I never where heels. They look great, but they hard on your feet, and makes walking more difficult. No man would put himself through the discomfort. LOL!
Condolences on the loss of your friend. Time does pass too quickly. And loss is one of the hardest things to bear.
Thank you very much Michelle!
i think monochrome is the best way to look chic! love it!
Thank you very much!
I think it’s the time for melancholy moods, as I often get them at this time of year. And yes, a song can really transport you back to earlier times. I have that a lot too, and it’s certainly another trigger for melancholy moods. That said, your blue monochrome outfit is a perfect mood lifter! xxx
Haha, thanks Ann!
I love how you talk yourself through those memories and end up on a positive note Nancy. As for the blue outfit…it’s fabulous.
Ha, yes I don’t dwell in negative thoughts luckely!
You actually look quite serene and cheerful in these beautiful blue tones, Nancy. They are so pretty on you!
I adore heels and wear them a lot, but if I have a lot of walking to do, I always take flats just in case. I”m sure that will happen more and more with us! xx
That is a idea I should think about better! Thanks Lisa!
I also suffer from fits of melancholy, Nancy – I think it’s somewhat natural. I’m so sorry about the loss of your friend. I recently found out that one of our dear friends has cancer – it really makes you take stock of your own life, and realize we have to live in the moment! Enjoy right now!
I love this pretty blue outfit – the pleated skirt is so nice on you. Sigh, when shoes become too high…I am dealing with a slight bunion, and it is painful. I have been moving more and more to flatter shoes.
Yes me too, about the flatter shoes, and I don’t like that! I always say to people, live now! Life is so short and only once! Can you believe that?
Time passes so fast! I’m very sorry for the loss of your friend.
You wear blue so well! Loving this monochrome look on you!
Jill – Doused in Pink
Thanks Jill, that is very kind of you!
I love the blue on you Nancy!
Thank you very much!
I can’t believe it 🙂 – we are twins on our blog! I wear the monochrom look in blue today.
Have a great day my friend!
Haha, yes I saw it this morning! Great minds ….hey!
Such a pretty look in all blue Nancy!
What a fabulous combination you made with al that beautiful blue.
Some days we just feel blue, so you don’t have to apologize, dear Nancy. Nevertheless, your blue outfit is beautiful and you look lovely! I think everyone is a bit tired at this time of year, so we’re all feeling it. Rest up, my friend.
Yes I think so too, thanks Darlene. That is very kind of you!
You are looking so good in your blue. I have a hard time finding blues that I like. So happy you and Gerben found one another!
Yes me too Kim!
Blue is one of my favorite colors to wear. Thanks for linking up with The Style Six this week!
Is it? Thank you!
I just love the mixture of blues in this look Nancy! That skirt is so chic.
Lovely in blue: love the different tones. Hope the blues go away soon!
Oh yes, I don’t dwell in blues! Thanks Mireille!
It really is crazy to think how fast time passes us, I think we really start to realize it at the holidays and when we get close to a new year. I’m sorry about the loss of your friend. I do love these blue colors on you, even blue booties! Such a great combo of pieces.
Thank you very much Carrie!
Love the all blue outfit – it works so well with the skirt. Thanks for adding to the #linkup Jacqui x
Love this monochrome ensemble on you dear, and cute sweater you have here.

I absolutely love the blue monochromatic look. The colors are gorgeous and look particularly pretty on you. I feel ya on the heels. I can still wear them, but they can’t be too high nor can I wear them for too long. xo
Yeah, such a shame is that isn’t it! I used to walk on heels all day long!
Aw, Nancy, I am so sorry that you are feeling down. I feel like this time of year is wrought with loss. My sister has lost 3 very close friends since last holiday season and she is really struggling emotionally. I am thankful that I get to spend some time with her next week for Thanksgiving. Sending you lots of positive energy, my friend. You look lovely in your monochromatic melancholy blue outfit, by the way. Thanks for linking up.
Oh give your sister a hug from me! Thanks Shelbee, you are the best!
I wore this look over the winter and it’s very feminine and cosy – the pleated skirt is sweet with that pretty jumper! I’m with you in the heels – I’m just not into flats .. but I do like walking around so what to do? And yes, all we can do is take one day at a time – I understand how you feel – I blamed my sad feelings on mercury being in retrograde! Hang in there, Nancy!
Thanks Donna, I don’t hang in bad feelings for long. But sometimes it’s just hard. You understand!
Like El Paso’s blue skies…you look so crisp and fresh and airy. This great look would work for so many occasions.
