Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Polka Dots!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
I won this sheer black and white polka dot top from a StyleWe giveaway hosted by Nicole of High Latitude Style a few years ago…so I didn’t really buy it all. However, I am so glad that I chose it because I have worn it quite a bit. I love the oversized fit and the bow detail at the neck. The sheer fabric keeps the cuteness factor to a minimum by making it just a tiny bit sexy. I have worn this top with jeans and shorts and even layered it over a dress. It is one of my favorite pieces.
Here is our lovely Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I bought this green polka dot dress at Target and love it. It’s got that 1950’s feel to me, and it’s perfect for the summer whether I dress it up or down!!
This is charming Gail of Is This Mutton?
I have so many polka dot items it was hard to choose! I loved these trousers/pants because they have an interesting shape and are a bit dressy. Unfortunately I probably won’t be wearing them this year because they are a very fine material and ripped!
This is Bettye of Fashion Schlub
This polka dot tee from H&M is a Good Buy AND a Bad Buy!
Good Buy: Polka dots are super charming and a nice substitute for stripes (if you’re someone who could easily wear them Every Day of Your Life).
Bad Buy: The very first time I washed it – in cold water, on the delicate cycle, air dried – not in the dryer AT ALL – it shrunk up so much in length that it is virtually unwearable. Obviously, it’s not the POLKA DOTS fault that this happened, but as just sort of an aside, be mindful of inexpensive tees, no matter HOW silky and lovely they feel. In the end, I WILL look for ANOTHER polka dot top because I so enjoyed wearing this one.
And finally my polka dots dress!
I loved this dress so much! And it looked perfect with that red cardigan and red shoes. And I did worn this one out! What a lovely dress it was.
Thank you all for participating in The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Polka Dots, and we hope you will join us next month too!
June’s theme will be: Jumpsuits!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashionable wonen are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.comor to info@nancysfashionstyle.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!

Yes, a bit retro right. Thanks Kellyann.
So many pretty polka dots! I have no jumpsuits for net month, but I do have two pairs of overalls…they may have to do for my jumpsuits!

And the combination of your lovely dress and cardigan made the outfit amazing!
Those polka dot outfits are a feast for the eyes! So very summery! I’m loving your fluttery dress with its pretty frilly neckline, and adding red makes this a very elegant, yet playful outfit! xxx

Thanks Ann, and I only wore this dress a long time after I purchased it. In the beginning I didn’t find good shoes with it!
So glad that everyone’s polka dots were good buys! Except maybe Bettye’s cute little tee. What a shame that it shrunk, especially after all the care she took in laundering it.
I just ordered what I hope will be a good buy – a polka dot kimono. Was eyeing some Loft Outlet polka dot mules to wear with it but wondered if that would be polka overload. Seeing Gail’s darling pants and shoes, I have decided you can never have too many dots.
I really want to join you for one of these posts. Just need to stay home long enough. Have been MIA for while in Kentucky caring for my mom with little Internet connectivity. Trying to catch up now on reading comments and blog posts.

Oh that’s a shame that you didn’t participate! You can join now with a jumpsuit!
Oh gosh, I somehow missed this post last month! I love everyone’s polka dot looks.
Shame that Gail’s beautiful architectural pants ripped, I know the feeling!
Shelbee’s polkdot babydoll top is so darling!
Nancy, your navy-and-white polka dot dress with red cardi is classic and chic!
I think my favorite is Jody’s pink and green combo – that’s such a fun color combination, as whimsical as polka dots are themselves!
Looking forward to next month’s installment – I see it’s jumpsuits and rompers.I’m out on that one but it’s fun to see everyone else!
