I am so glad it’s finally time to wear a summer dress. How good it feels to not wear tights or leggings and cardigans.
Many bloggers wrote about that they were exchanging their winter wardrobe for the summer wardrobe a few weeks ago. I find that funny. I have all my clothes together. Summer and winter clothes. I have four closets, Gerben one! Haha. But in there, my clothes hang sorted by jackets and vests, skirts and trousers, tops and sweaters and dresses. So if I want to wear a skirt and I don’t know yet what I want to wear on it, then I go past my closet with tops and sweaters and then my eye automatically falls on something I want to wear on the skirt. Very handy.
Wear a summer dress in winter
I also wear summer skirts and dresses in winter! Not the other way around, or it must be very cold. But wear leggings or tights under a summer dress and a cardigan over it and it’s wearable! Such a waist to let those gorgeous dresses hung in the closet for months and only wear one season, and a short season too! Fortunately, it is now time to wear summer dresses without tights and leggings again.
Love to wear a summer dress with a denim jacket
Summer dresses with a denim jacket. Such a good combination. I can’t imagine a dress that doesn’t look good with a denim jacket. Yeah okay, a prom dress. But of course I mean an all day dress. This is a pre loved one from Steps. Lovely soft sort of wrap dress with sleeves. I have to think about not wearing sleeveless or to short sleeves. I do work out a lot, six times a week now during this virus time, but my skin is super dry! So it looks very old and not muscled at all. While it is! Really! There goes my hard work, haha.
I am wearing gold colored accessories and espadrilles, which are such perfect summer shoes! Also wearing a red tee under the dress, but that doesn’t look good. I should have worn a lower neckline. Look at my hair! Awful. I have been to the hairdresser, but this photo was taking a week before I finally went. And also went to my nail stylist. Gosh it feels so good! Haha, am I bad?

I have all my clothes in one closet, but I bring the summer/spring to the front and the winter to the back (well, middle really)… and, it just makes it easier to get things out. What a gorgeous dress, love the colors and yes, I’ve been wearing all my summer dresses again lately, too and it feels great.

I can’t imagine any dress which doesn’t look good with a denim jacket. It’s my go-to jacket in Summer. Although I have lots of other jackets and blazers, I definitely wear my denim jacket the most in Summer. I love your outfit with the striped dress and the espadrilles. Very summery! I would love to keep all my clothes out all year around, but I simply don’t have enough spaces (or perhaps too many clothes). I am keeping some of my clothes – which can be worn in any season – out all year, though. Having space for 4 wardrobes like you sounds like heaven! xxx

This is an awesome day-dress, Nancy – love the stripes and the sleeves! I used to keep my entire wardrobe out all year-round, but I found that some things just don’t work for my spring/summer seasons (heavy/thick sweaters, darker colours, skirts that I only wear with tights, boots, dressier clothes), and some don’t work for fall/winter (dresses that are unlined and cling to tights/nylons, sandals, thin tops that don’t layer well with jackets). I also ran out of room (even though I have 2 closets! I have a coat closet in addition to my clothes closet). So, now I pull out things that I deem seasonal, but I do keep many of my favourites out all the time.

I used to have all of my clothes in my one closet but somehow they’ve reproduced so I had to change them out. UGH. I just need to purge but for some reason I love everything and don’t want to get rid of anything!!

Does it count that I wore a skirt yesterday? Almost, almost wore a dress but felt like I was overdoing it for a quick dinner out. My PC was wearing shorts!!
You wear this style dress so well. Wrap or faux wrap, they are very flattering on you. I bought a new denim jacket and haven’t had it on yet. Want to wear it with skirts. Even though it is very hot here in the summer, the AC is always blasting everywhere we go so I like having a cardi or jacket.
