Couldn’t say no to this gorgeous silk skirt. A week or two before Christmas I ordered this tulle skirt because my old one was worn out. It had holes! And a woman must have a tulle skirt, right? I certainly do! And what did my eye spot on that site? Exactly, a very beautiful skirt. How could I resist it? Not! But it is black so I am sure I will wear it a lot.
Size up for a tulle or silk skirt![purple cable knit sweater](https://nancysfashionstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/purple-sweater-1.jpg)
Sometime in December I read on a blog, I don’t remember which one, you should actually buy a tulle skirt one size bigger. I did that for the tulle skirt and for the this one. For silk is certainly not forgiving. And you don’t want to see anything that you are wearing in the skirt. It was the right decision for both skirts, because they don’t pinch and draw anywhere. Thank you for the tip who ever you were!
Purple and black

After Christmas, Gerben and I even went to Arnhem to buy some sweaters for Gerben and when we walked back to the exit of the store my eye fell on this sweater! What a color! And it has a nice photo print on it. Wonderfully warm too. In order to no longer bore you with my lilac boots, I wear these underneath. These boots really feel like you are wearing slippers. Amazing. (we did buy a few sweaters for Gerben you know….)
A silk skirt is not only to be styled with a blazer and heels. If you want to wear it more casual, just add a sweater and some cowboy boots or biker boots and you can wear it any day. It was very cold, I see it in my face! I am wearing black tassel earrings, but I don’t wear them again. It’s not my style and I think they are actually a bit to long.
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
Love the silk skirt paired with the sweater! SO chic, Nancy!

That is a good tip about sizing up especially with silk! I need to try wearing sweaters more with skirts, I do agree with the earrings being quite long, that could be quite bothersome.

Both in purple Tina!
Thank you for the tip on taking a size up with silk and tulle. I’d never have thought of that. I guess it works equally with all non-stretch fabrics, too. Love the silk skirt on you, and how you are wearing it casually paired with that fabulous purple jumper! xxx

Well I had a tulle skirt in my own size and because the elastic waistband is so thight, it looks like I had a huge belly with all that tulle. So when another blogger mentioned to size up I thought, that makes sence.
The sweater is so fun! I don’t believe I’ve seen one with a print on it like this.

I just love that skirt Nancy. And that was smart to size up. You could probably wear it under other skirts too (like a sheer one) because it’s so lightweight.

Nancy, I absolutely love this outfit! This deep shade of purple looks amazing on you. And I love the little graphic on the sweater. Such a gorgeous skirt, too. And I love the edginess of opaque tights and booties with it. This might be one of my favorite outfits of yours ever!

I love the silk skirt with a sweater. You look fab. But you are right about the fact that silk isn’t forgiving. That is why I don’t wear it. It is a good idea to buy one size bigger. And maybe some shapewear to smooth everything up. o)
