Olive green is, like black, a very cool and sexy color in my head. I always love to wear olive green in summer as it looks gorgeous on a tinted skin. Well, you can hardly say my skin is already tinted by some sun, but I am wearing the color anyway. And my new sunglasses while there is no sun at all, lol!

New Sunglasses![olive green dress with rust cardigan](https://nancysfashionstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Olive-green-dress-and-new-sunglasses-2.jpg)
*I received the beautiful sunglasses from MessyWeekend I chose these tortoise ones because I have always loved that. And very coincidentally, I had just told Gerben a few weeks ago that I needed new sunglasses. My old turtoise ones are full of scratches and when I am reading in the sun it is very annoying. So the invite to collaborate came just in time. What a lucky girl I am!
A while ago I went with a girlfriend to shop for her birthday outfit. She turned 50 at the end of December and threw a party, so I said to her that it was a good excuse to buy a new outfit. Not that we ever need a excuse….So we went shopping and coincidentally, yes really, I saw something beautiful for myself. I’ve always loved olive green. Can be combined with all other colors. But I think it is best to combine it with brown or other earth tones.
How I styled this olive green dress![tortoise sunglasses](https://nancysfashionstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Olive-green-dress-and-new-sunglasses-4.jpg)
I have styled olive green before with pink. But mostly I will wear it with brown or, like I said, earth tones. The cardigan might look a bit red but it is more a rust. I was doubting if I would wear these ankle boots under the dress but I decided to wear the longer boots. I always like to wear a shirtdress with a belt to accentuate the waist line. And often these dresses come with a strap in the color of the dress which I think is a bit dull.
The turtoise print of the sunnies come back in my necklace! Matchy matchy! Also wearing two small golden bracelets with a brown beaded one. And some small earrings for a change. Because I already wear a necklace, I don’t like to wear statement earrings with it. I wore this outfit when we went to my sisters last Saturday. We had delicious Indonesian food! Mmmm.
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!

I love olive green. It’s just not a very favourable colour for me. It definitely is for you and I love how you have styled it with that rusty red and the big brown belt and beautiful boots. I am sure you will wear this combination a lot. It’s stylish, comfortable and an outfit that will be apt for many occasions. Good buy and gorgeous styling. Love, Lieske

Thank you very much! I can see myself wearing it in summer with sandals!
I love anything in olive. In the summer I like to pair it with white! I love your belt, it makes a pretty statement and is a nice way to accentuate the waist. Need to pull out my belts and find new ways to wear them.

Very stylish outfit Nancy, the colour combination is lovely. I’m a big fan of olive green too, I think it’s as versatile as black but more flattering on some skin tones. I try to avoid wearing too much black now. Thanks for linking up!

Thanks for sharing your great look with my readers at the Top of the World Style linkup party. Yes, you are right. Olive is as great as black when it comes to neutrals. Moreover, it looks less harsh on our skin, i.e. it doesn’t highlight wrinkles. It’s totally underused despite it’s such a cool color. Love your outfit and color combination. I so would wear that look too. So posh casual.
