I finally own some faux leather leggings again! I had a very good pair that fitted so perfectly, and the quality was beautiful. But it was really too ugly to wear any longer, so many times I had worn it. And it was quite a thing to find a good replacement. A lot of them looked like plastic, or they were too low in the waist. But this one is perfect.
I will never wear my faux leather leggings like this again!
Its only honest to say that I have styled these faux leather leggings today as I will never wear it again. Just wanted to try out what it would be like if I were to wear something short on these leggings. And what would it be like to wear boots over the leggings. No! That is clearly not for me. If I wear faux leather leggings, I would like to wear something that goes beyond my crotch. And boots over leggings or pants? No, it just doesn’t feel good to me. This is not my style.
But the faux leather leggings are good
Then why do I show it? Well because I just tried something and I don’t think it worked. That is also allowed! It’s not that every day I put on a outfit and think: Yes, this is a fabulous look! No no, I too make mistakes…..lol. But the items separately are great. I already have the boots in black and the quality is so beautiful. And the color is really gorgeous. It looks like the leafs at the end of autumn, that deep warm red brown color! I have had the blouse for months, but have not worn it at all. Again it are the colors that are so attractive to me. And the cardigan is simply a wonderful simple cardigan. The necklace has brown stones and vintage pink, which I also have on my nails. You know, matchy matchy!

Nancy, I love the concept behind this post of sharing something that you don’t like so much. Jeff just said to me the other day that we fashion bloggers should start showing what we “really wear”…in reference to me in my sweatpants and bathrobe…all the time! Hahaha. I also won’t wear short tops because I’m not skinny with a flat tummy anymore so I tend to prefer longer shirts.

I think your outfit looks great. Love the boots. But I know what you mean about a shorter top over leggings. I do prefer longer tops over leggings myself. The proportions seem off to me when a top stops right at my hip area. It doesn’t work for my shape. Your black faux leather leggings remind me that I’ve been wanting a pair for a while now. Loving the little button details on your cardigan. Those little additions really add polish to the look. You are totally rockin’ those coated pants. I’m envious you can pull those off – even though you said they are not for you. I’m afraid my hips and rear can’t handle the attention. Maybe if I wore them over a tunic length top….. Fabulous outfit Nancy. I have a pair of faux leather pants which I bought from Zara. Like you I searched for a pair which looked like the real deal. I love to wear them. This is my kind of outfit. I love leather pants so much so, I’ve been looking at the real leather ones. I have a real leather pair which are very, very old but are way too small now!! I may treat myself in the January sales – the price would have to be right though as they are so expensive. Don’t stop wearing them as they look fabulous on you.

I’m totally with you on wanting to wear a longer top with leggings – even if they’re faux leather ones. I like seeing “failed looks” too, because maybe it will prevent somebody else from buying something they thought might work together. Your look definitely has some great structure – you only have to change a piece or two and it’s a great look. And I do love the burgundy and black together. And it’s made me realize that I really would love some faux leather pants!

I have very mixed feelings about faux leather leggings for myself. I bought some at Loft last year and they were too loose but I wore them once or twice anyway. I just didn’t feel very confident in them. Now they are way too big so I gave them away. But I am debating whether to get another pair. Would like to try the Spanx brand but they are so expensive. Will I wear them enough to spend that money?
I like your outfit and think the fit on your leggings is very flattering. Your boots look great over the leggings, in my opinion. Bravo for trying something outside your comfort zone.
