Color Analysis Finding Your Color

finding your colors

I received a color analysis and I am so exited about it that I wanted to share it with you!

As I’ve mentioned before, a while ago I was pretty much tubbing about my style and the colors I wore. Too often I had bought something and thought: well that’s just not my color, or that I bought something with a col while I know very well that it doesn’t suit me at all. And it ended up in the giveaway pile.

Even with my makeup I just couldn’t get it right. While I actually know what I like. You read everywhere that if you make the eyes a bit heavier, a smokey eye, you should keep the lips calm. But I don’t like that. I like both my eyes and my lips wit a good strong color! So I was kind of struggling. And then I thought, I ask Pamela of Style Yourself Confident if she also does color analysis for the Netherlands. Not at all thought about that it goes online of course! And I immediately received an email from her that I was offered a color analysis from her! Wow! Is that a gift or what!

What is a color analysismy color analysis

Pamela asked to send in a few photos so she can see the color of your hair eyes, your contrast. It is also important to know the color of your veins to determine whether you are a warm or cool type. I already knew that I was the warm type, but this goes way beyond just warm or cool.

What I got from her was a very detailed explanation of what type I am and which colors to wear and how. She also tips about your hair color and the makeup that you can best wear. But really very extensive. With many photos so that it is immediately clear what she means. And it comes with a color fan that you can print out so that you can take it with you when you go shopping.

And I immediately wanted to change my closet of course!finding your right color

I had a booklet printed. It is simply wonderful to read and of course you immediately get excited to get started. I was most excited to get all my wrong colors out of the closet and go shopping online! But I didn’t, I took a good look at my basics and what I could use and how and when I order clothes now, I look much better at the colors. And what can be worn together.

But also the shape of items. For example, I had the tendency to buy turtlenecks in the fall when they really don’t suit me. Now I really don’t buy them anymore, even though the color might be very beautiful. Looking a little further for a sweater with a v neckline is a better option. Because if I do wear a turtleneck, it annoys me that it doesn’t look nice. And why wouldn’t you always want to look your best?

If you have ever thought about having a color analysis done, or you are struggling with colors and your style, then I really recommend a color analysis with Pamela! I am so very happy with it! I’m sure you will be too!

Thank you very much Pamela!

My mom has had a color analysis done and even has small pocket swatch book of her colors that she carries around with her so she can hold them up to clothes and things she finds when out shopping.

That’s very interesting and fascinating, Nancy. But, even if the colour analysis was a gift, it would still be very expensive to change your entire wardrobe :-))) Turtlenecks do not suit me either, although it’s a lovely look on others. I used to wear them all the time when I was younger, and still haven’t gotten rid of all of them.
Having that booklet printed was an inspired idea.
Now the big challenge will be keeping to your colours and shapes đŸ™‚ xxx

Oh but I don’t change my wardrobe . I just look better at what I wasn’t happy with and sell that. And I will buy better I hope!

That is really cool and it really does show colors that I think would look great on you, too!! I THINK I know what colors look best on me, but this would be fun to see if it agrees with my opinions! Ha!

Oh, that looks like so much fun, Nancy! I think we all fall into ruts and it would be a good thing to take a look at! I’m admiring all those rich colors in your booklet. It will be fun to see what you start to incorporate into your wardrobe. A great excuse to go shopping! ( Online, of course!)

I did a colour analysis when I was a teenager, in the early 80s, called “Color Me Beautiful” – I was deemed a Spring (warm colours, lighter version) but I really wanted to be an Autumn (warm colours, more intense colours). I tend to stick to those palettes now, but I dabble in all colours, in the belief that if I really love a colour, I should wear it.

I am still working on not buying shapes that don’t suit my body – I keep buying dolman/batwing sleeved tops and cowl-necklines, both of which do not work for my hourglass shape.

I’m glad you had fun doing this, Nancy!

I had a book when I was a teenager called Color me beautiful! I won it when I did my beautician training.

Pamela does a great job – i’d had two completely different assessments in the past but she identified that I’m a bright, and because my skin tone is neural, I have a slightly bigger range of colors to choose from.
