Is this look chic or outdated? I like it a lot, but I see myself often very different then others do…. It’s getting towards the end of the season, which means you’ll see some more reruns here. Because I’m not going to buy anything new for a while, she says, but she probably doesn’t mean a thing of that. Because I don’t fall in that trap again. To buy spring clothes in February or March, and then only be able to wear them at the end of April because of the temperature.
And then you actually don’t like those purchases that much anymore, and you have seen much nicer items. But purchases on Vinted don’t count….. Because these are often not trendy items, so they don’t bore so quickly.
Bermuda, chic or outdated?

So let’s see how long I can manage not to buy anything new. Usually I’m tempted anyway, a spine like a twig. Well, you only live once! But I have to say that I am not at all tired of my winter wardrobe yet. And I’m just remembering that I haven’t bought any new shoes this season! What is that? Yes, a pair of slingbacks, but they are more for spring… and I really couldn’t pass them up. I love slingbacks, so feminine, with a kitten heel.
One of my favorite items this winter is the bermuda shorts. I have worn these very often the way I am showing you today. These bermuda shorts are really an item that reflect my style a bit. Namely that there are not many people who likes it, haha. Whenever I wear these bermuda shorts, no one says that they look nice. Gerben really thinks they are awful. But no one says anything else about it. That tells me enough!
Love this, in my eyes, stylish look

And no, you really don’t have to say that you like them if you don’t. I am not fishing for compliments here. I really like this look. And I feel very comfortable in it. I have always loved shorts in winter. Not in summer though. Then I find them to masculine. I am curious how those others who don’t say anything about this look , see it. Is it frumpy, old-fashioned, boring, chic or outdated, what?
In any case, I wear the bermuda shorts with a brown long sleeved poloneck jumper and suede boots and a few gold accessories. And brown leggings too! I always wore tights in winter, but I find it way to cold, hence the leggings. Nice and warm!
Can you tell I love brown a lot this winter? I really wear black a lot less these days. But it will always stay my favourite colour.

It looks very chic and tonal looks are trendy. I’m also not buying anything new just now, although I make an exception for swimwear because the good styles and colours come out in Jan and sell out quickly.

Yes indeed, if you wait to long with swimwear there is nothing nice when you need it! Thanks Gail.
I’m not buying any spring things yet either – waiting for it to warm up more. I love how you styled your Bermuda shorts for winter! Such a chic monochrome look!

Thank you very much JIll!
I’m with you, waiting on most closing pieces as it warms up but definitely thinking Spring. You look chic!

Thanks Andrea!
Today, my husband said I look like I am going to court: I took inspiration for one of KellyAnn’s outfit and put together something similar (with a blazer). I feel very put together and think it is fun! Yesterday, I wore leggings and a sweatshirt. Sometimes I see others and get a little jealous of their trendy looks but then know that it is not my style anyways: I like to be me and not a follower of trends. If I am replicating a look, it’s because I have similar items already which means it is a style that I like! I like that you wear what you want to wear! Even though I have never done the shorts in winter look, I think it is a great way to be warm and wear your clothes more.

Indeed, I know my style isn’t for everyone, but I am feeling good in it and that is what counts right! Thanks Mireille!
I just bought some new spring shoes, but besides that, I am not buying anything else. I have so much in my closet that sometimes I don’t even know what is in there, haha. Anyway! I think that this outfit is very chic, and I hope that you enjoy your weekend! xo

Haha, that is bad Caroline! Lo. Thanks hun!
Ha! I am the same way about buying spring things far to early in the season and then regretting it later! I always think it’s going to warm up so much earlier than it really does…

Indeed! So annoying!
Nancy, I like this tonal look with Bermuda shorts. The textures and weights look just right for winter. I am also re-wearing pieces, and pulling out those things in my closet that have not been worn all season. Too many clothes! I am finding that my heaviest wool things are the ones that don’t get worn much, and need to be evaluated. Even though it gets very cold, I am more likely to layer. Hope you have a very nice weekend and thanks for hosting the link up. Also, thanks so much for the favorite mention!

Totally my pleasure Di! I have worn almost all my pieces so I think they are all Good Buys! Have a great weekend.
I think it all depends on how you style an item. It’s the styling that can make it look frumpy or outdated. I think With the tall boots and monochrome look, you made the bermuda shorts quite chic!

Thank you very much Laura!
I like the all-brown look, but I feel like the bottom and top half don’t quite gel together. Maybe a more structured jacket with it?
thanks for the link-party, Nancy!

I could try that Sheila! Thank you!
Hi, Nancy – I love the volume and style of those shorts. It’s the polo top that’s not my thing, but it must be yours. It looks comfortable. It’s interesting that you are liking brown more and more in place of black. What happened to me is that I started replacing black with grays. The color feels like comfort to me. Although browns would look better on me since they go with my warm-toned skin and hair. Thanks for sharing this look – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

I loved wearing wool shorts in the winter when I was teaching! I had so many different colors. Thank goodness they were lined because I wore them with hose not tights! I think your outfit would look a little bit better if you tucked the sweater in and wore one of your belts. But, the important thing is you like it! I like the two pieces together and with the boots. I wonder how long it will be before these kinds of shorts (winter ones I mean) are back on the runways. Thanks for the link up!

There is a belt attached that I can’t remove, always hate that. But I never tried it tucked actually! There’s a idea! Thanks Marsha!
Shorts and Jorts are trendy, along with polo collar shirts. You look fab!
Author
Thank you very much, I appreciate that!
I’m loving the shorts with the tights and boots, but I’m not too keen on the polo top. I think it would look fab with a brown patterned blouse, perhaps a pussy-bow one. But that’s just me. But you do you, Nancy: I’m a firm advocate of wearing what you like! xxx

I have that though Ann……mmmm might be something for the weekend to wear! Thanks!
I totally get your love for brown too. It has such a warm, earthy tone, and it really suits the winter vibe! Keep rocking this look—sometimes the pieces that others don’t quite “get” are the ones that are truly unique and ahead of their time.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful style with us!

You are very chic. Looking very nice.

Thanks Patrick!
It’s weird because I just got the email for this post today on monday.
And the reason I like shorts like this so much is because they really look like a skirt, and yet they function there like pants. So maybe they’re not trending, but they are fabulous!!

And that’s why most men hate them I think, lol.
I like your look — I don’t think it’s outdated at all. I tend to view Bermuda shorts like skirts, you can wear them all the time {depending upon the fabric, of course}. The colors that you’ve chosen as well as those oh so fab boots are absolutely perfect.

I have my eye on one winter item to see if it comes down in price. We are going on a trip soon to England and Scotland in april, so I dont need to buy anything right now. I love this look with the tailored shorts, I think it is chic and a bit edgy and fun too Nancy!
Hope you are well!
