Oh yes sparkles! Let us shine, glitter and sparkle! The perfect time of the year to do so. Well, actually why not wear it all year round right! I do.
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Sparkles!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
This outfit features 4 sparkly things…3 are Good Buys and 1 not so much. My sequined clutch and sequined boots are definitely Good Buys. I use the clutch often and the boots are always fun to break out at holiday time. My sparkly gold statement necklace was $1 from Walmart and I have definitely gotten the price per wear on this necklace down to about 3 pennies or less. My sparkly sequined mini skirt was not such a good buy. It is a thrift shop find and the back zipper won’t stay up! If I knew how to fix that, I would. But I think I might be better off just saying Good-Bye to it.

I bought this dress for a big bash to celebrate my 60th birthday. Sadly we only could have 20 people but it didn’t dampened my spirits so I put this dress on and had a fabulous time with my closest family

This green sequin blouse holds wonderful sentiments because it was given to me by a neighbor before he passed away.
I just love how it gives the holiday season some wonderful sparkles.

I’ve committed to doing a full month of sparkle for December, whether it’s from jewelry, accessories or clothing. It’s good for my mental health to feel sparkly!

I definitely consider this sequined maxi-skirt a Good Buy and I knew it would be a seasonal favorite when I bought it six years ago. Every year since I’ve restyled it in a new way and I haven’t yet run out of ideas. This time around I came up with two options and in the one shown here, I’ve paired it with a blue tweed blazer trimmed with sequins itself and a pair of blue suede booties (also another good buy made a few years ago if anyone is asking).
And here am I sparkling!

I think everyone looks absolutely fabulous in sparkles! I adore your lounge set but understand why you wouldn’t wear the top because of the skin element—I would be inclined to wear a vest top underneath it, because it is rather fabulous, Nancy!

These are such fun sparkly outfits and pieces! I really should try more often to wear the few sparkly pieces I have in my wardrobe – some are worn so rarely, I need to take the opportunity to get them out more!
