Selling Clothes-Throwback Tuesday #17

is fashion addictive

I did bring my clothes to a second hand shop to sell my clothes for a few years. But with Corona they don’t sell that hard anymore, so I decided to sell a lot myself. That was what I have been doing most part of the week!

*The featured photo is of a dress that I am selling!

Making excuses for myself? Really? me?

Last week I actually had a dentist appointment that I canceled. They work super hygienic there, that is not the problem. It’s more the other patients. But also, I will go by bike because it is nearby. But because it is cold I immediately have a runny nose. And with that mask on the glasses immediately fog up. So can you imagine how I arrive there? I can also put in the oxygen hose that I have at home, but I don’t want to be seen outside with it. So, so much hassle and so many considerations that it made me think, why bother. Why make it so difficult for myself. It was only for the bi annual check up anyway. A few days later I saw that I had a nail appointment yesterday……..oh, and wanted to go…..okay….did I make a excuse for myself not to see the dentist?? That is not like me, but it made me think. In the end I also cancelled the nail stylist.

Selling my clothes

Wednesday I had to drop off a package. I am following a masterclass on Instagram from Lonneke Nootenboom. And I’ve had a color analysis, which you can read about this Thursday, so push that notification on the bottom right! And now I’m selling anything that isn’t a good color for me, or that I don’t wear anymore, or just doesn’t suit me at all.

So another package went away. And then I immediately selected a new laptop, (the drop off for packages is in a computer shop) because mine is four years old and getting pretty slow and full. In a few weeks everything will be transferred and I will be able to work faster again! Gone are my savings, haha.

Making it cozy at home…..with sweets!

Furthermore, this week I have been really busy photographing as much clothing as possible and putting it on the website where I sell it. If you are interested, I sell it on Vinted, teuntje31. Gerben had a  weekend shift all weekend, so we couldn’t go anywhere. LOL. As if we can go anywhere. All catering is closed again.

That means that we have to make it extra cozy at home. (which basically just means that I bought a decent amount of chocolate candy and chips) And I know that I will regret it because I want a flat belly, and that is not going to work this way. Well, just skipping classes this weekend, it’s not that bad is it?

*By the way, Gerben had to work all Sunday and I was so bored! I am already on my own during the week! I hated it and could not entertain myself at all. Haha, sounds so stupid right….

Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.

I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!

I don’t blame you for cancelling the dental appointment, it seems like a hassle and who needs that! I sold some clothes last week. Each time I sell clothes I think of how I need to do better when shopping.
I love your new boots and the metallic skirt and biker boots looks terrific!

I should ship a couple of my kids over to entertain you lol! We had a good weekend doing nothing but sit outside and enjoy the weather which is a good thing because looks like next weekend will be busy. I have been pulling a few things out of my closet to donate, I was putting out my sweaters and cooler weather things and decided that what I hadn’t worn this year needed to go.

Yes indeed. Things I haven’t worn for 2 seasons, I get rid of. Yeah, send them over! Lol.

What a great idea to sell clothes that you no longer use! I can see why you love those white boots. They are so cute!

That red dress is absolutely stunning, and I can’t believe you are parting with it!
I can’t blame you for cancelling both the dentist and the nail stylist. My dentist cancelled my check-up appointment back in April, when she wasn’t allowed to work. I still have to make a new one, but with cases on the rise, I’m not really up for it, even if I know they work most hygienically. I’ll just have to pluck up the courage one of these days!
That chili soup is looking utterly delicious, and perfect comfort food for a Autumn day. All catering is closed again here too by the way. Well done on selling your unwanted clothes, by the way. I do hope next weekend will be a little less boring for you! xxx

That’s so smart to try to sell your clothes Nancy. I keep thinking I need to do that too, but it’s a lot of work.

It is, but it is satisfying!

I was wondering where you sell your clothes – I try ebay now and then but hardly anything goes for a good price that makes it worth doing. I see you’re using a Dutch site, maybe I should see if there are similar sites in the UK.

I love your new boots!! They look so good with the summer dress and long cardigan!

I haven’t been to the dentist for a long time, they are only really doing appointments with the hygienist. My husband went and the cost was astronomical! Something like £150 for one appointment! It seems like they are overcharging because they can’t do any other dental work.

    Thanks for sharing at #WowOnWednesday.

I love your new white boots! I have also gone through phases of clearing out big chunks of my old wardrobe, and I have regretted some of the pieces I passed along due to the colours not being “right” for me (this was when I had dark purple hair). So make sure you don’t get rid of anything you LOVE, Nancy! Those courses are great for inspiration and a push if needed, but the whole point of being a grown up boss-lady is that you can wear what you want!

I saw about the lockdowns on Ann’s blog. So sorry to hear that! We are in Phase 3 of our opening up (out of 4), but we are in Wave 2 of the pandemic now. My island has only 4 active cases, but we are still being ultra-careful.

Stay calm, stay safe, be kind!

I agree, I don’t ,, live,, by the analysis, I make my own decisions, but it is helpful. No, I don’t giveaway clothes I love! Never! That is very good that you have so little cases!

Nancy, your new white boots are fabulous! I am loving al the ways you have styled them. And doesn’t feel so good to make a little bit of money selling off your unwanted clothes?! I canceled my dentist’s appointment a few weeks ago because I came down with some sort of bronchial infection. It is the second time I have had to reschedule. The first time was lack of childcare in July. Now I will go in December, hopefully, because now it will be a whole year since my last dentist visit. Damn covid! Stay safe and healthy, my friend. Yes same for me, I also skipped twice. It is fun! And then to spend all that money again is even more fun! Lol.
