Normal life again and a lot of snow!

AI generated photo

All the Christmas decorations are gone, normal life is back in full swing, and chocolates with my coffee are over! It’s nice to have a routine again, though. Although, my routine is a bit off because I haven’t been out of the house this past week. It started snowing here on January 2nd, and it’s still there, and it’s incredibly slippery in the neighborhood because it’s freezing during the day. Pretty unusual for our country. But this is way too cold for my lungs, and with all that slippery weather, it takes too much energy to get on my bicycle anyway. So I’ve been working out at home all week.

The featured photo is AI-generated. I’ll explain that in this month’s Thrifty Six series, on the 19th.

Normal life again, well it started Monday

Saturday night we went out for dinner with my father’s wife and her sons and their partners, and of course my sister and brother in-law. It was lovely, I love eating out. Sunday afternoon, we played Rummikub, just the two of us. We enjoyed a nice glass of port wine, 10 years old, with it. And so, on Monday, normal life resumed. Working out, laundry, blogging, answering emails, you know the drill.

It’s been the same all week, actually. It snowed so much here and it was so incredibly cold that I haven’t left the house all week. So, I’ve been working out every day and enjoing a long breakfast. Secretly, I don’t mind not having to leave the house for a few days sometimes. But I absolutely hate this cold. It’s below zero during the day! And it’s been like this for a week! That is truly exceptional here. Oh yeah, and on Tuesday I Zoomed with Shelbee, we had a lovely chat.

What else went on

Gerben had to go grocery shopping this week because there wasn’t a delivery. Luckily, I did get two packages on Monday, lol. One with new sweatpants and a sweater for the gym, because I usually look awful while working out, especially at home. And something from Zara, half of which I could return. And now I’m still waiting for something from H&M. Loafers… and burgundy sneakers. I have a love-hate relationship with loafers. Let’s try again to see if I can get a taste for them. So tomorrow we have a birthday party, hopefully we (read Gerben) can get the car to defrost!

And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!

Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party. I also pin my favourite on Pinterest.

My Fancy Friday Favourite of last week is: Cat of Cat’s Wire

It’s been very cold here too although we haven’t had snow in London (yet). The cold makes me a bit breathless. Good luck with the car for the birthday party!

It’s been bitterly cold in Yorkshire. So much snow and the schools were closed. I’ve found it quite exhausting and I’m glad it’s Friday. I usually work from home anyway but motivation is hard when it’s so cold. Xx

I can imagine that. Wished it was spring already!

The north and center of Germany got it really badly.
Here the comparably little snow we got has gone as we had rain last night. Luckily – because I had to go downtown this morning – it was not cold enough for it to freeze over! As I have a hard time walking most of the time now, slippery is really a no go for me.
Take care of yourself and I hope the cold will be over soon or at least better!
    Thank you for the feature!

I love a bit of fur, looking gorgeous Nancy and very snug! We have got off quite lightly with the weather but I’m cosy at home while Maurice is out shopping. Fortunately, we’ve had very little snow here but parts of the UK have been badly hit. Keep safe everyone!

It was so cold here for a few weeks that I didn’t go outside at all. It sounds like you had a lovely week despite the cold. Love your skirt – I can’t wait to hear about the AI-generated photo! Have a great weekend!

Lots of snow in Europe and spring like weather here in the south! I have been wearing spring clothes! While the snow looks lovely, I know that it is not fun for a lot of people, so for your sake, I hope it melts soon! We are back to a routine here too as the boys went back to school 2 days ago. We enjoyed one last overnight trip Sunday-Monday. Now I am trying to plan a little something fun even if just a day trip once a month.

Love your winter weather outfit, and the furry coat looks so very cozy! I am having a bit of trouble getting back into a routine these first weeks of January. It is a bit hard to get back into a normal routine. Sorry to hear you got such a snowy start to the year. It can be a bit of a hassle when you have to get. Thanks for hosting the link up and I so much enjoyed your pictures. Hope you have a good week!

Loved seeing your winter snow with robin photos! (We get snow and American robins here, but snow and European robin was a treat!) Take care on the slippery streets, and good call to avoid bicycling until it’s safer! Hope you will be breathing easier soon.

We had some snow but only for a couple of days, the rain washed it all away. I’m fed up with being stuck indoors now, I can’t wait for longer, warmer days. I love your winter outfit!

What an odd winter it’s been. We’ve been having spring like temperatures and lots of rain. I’ll take the rain but not all the wind. We are still in a drought, I think. I know it doesn’t help, but your garden is beautiful with all that snow! Don’t you just hate it when you get a package, and you have to return at least some of it? I’m trying to be better and not shop as much. Thanks for the link up! I’ll try to get it done tomorrow. My laptop doesn’t like link parties and doesn’t even show the link button! Silly laptop! Have a wonderful and cozy weekend, Nancy!

I hear you about the snow and the cold! Ugh. If I could stay home and not leave my house all winter long, I would be okay with that! Actually, we are having a rather mild winter compared to most years. All the crazy lake effect snow has been staying a few miles south of us and I am grateful except Jeff has to drive through it once a week to get to his union class. I look forward to our next Zoom chat, my friend. Stay warm!
