When light blue doesn’t compliment your face

light blue skirt with denim jacket

When I went shopping with a friend, a while ago, I was successful for a change and bought this light blue, black and white printed skirt, among other things. Like 4 black tees! Every now and then you have clothes that fit right away when you put them on. Have the perfect fit. Like this skirt. That should actually apply to all clothing, right? But it doesn’t…. At least in my case that is not what happens most of the time, what about you?

Light blue isn’t really my colour

This skirt is made of cotton and viscose, which makes it wonderfully wearable. Sits high in the waist, but nothing too tight, doesn’t wrinkle, perfect length! So nice. It’s a very nice colour combination, yes black and white, I’m starting to love it. And light blue, a kind of denim blue. A colour I never wear. But in combination with the other colours and the print I really like it. And if something isn’t your colour because it doesn’t look good in your face, like light blue is for me, you can always wear it as a bottom piece.

How can you tell if something isn’t the right colour for you? A colour analysis is then a good idea. A professional who knows what to look for and has the necessary tools for it. I mean, we don’t all have such a huge colour range of all kinds of fabrics, right? Nowadays you can do a colour analysis online. I was offered one by Pamela a few years ago and have benefited immensely from it and still use it!

What else should I wear with this light blue skirt?

I bought this T-shirt with flower corsage in the same boutique as the skirt. I love these corsages and have them in different colours. My friend said, when she asked me what I had bought that day, why  would you buy 4 black T-shirts? Well, they’re all different girl!…. I mean, one is more grey-ish, one has puff sleeves, another has a print. So here you are, 4 different tees!

And I’m wearing my new cowboy boots here! Oh how cute they are with dresses too! I like the waistband of the skirt, no belt needed. And a super old denim jacket. With a brooche that I bought at a car boot sale in Brenzett last May. I saw a tweed light blue denim jacket at the boutique that I actually want…I’ll wait until the sale…and then it will probably be sold out!

Lovely skirt, really like the pattern. It’s fabulous when a piece is the perfect fit but it rarely happens.

Indeed! Really weird isn’t it. On the other hand, so many women so many sizes!

That skirt is a great buy – the perfect design for pulling separate colour blocks together: black, white, blue or denim! And thank you so much for mentioning me today.

That’s a fab skirt and the blue colour really does suit you. I know what you mean about favourite colours and not particularly liking other colours – me, I’m not sure about the blue spectrum and yet I love my blue denim jacket!

Have a great weekend and here’s hoping it’s warm one!

Nancy you are one woman who knows what she likes and how to dress, I so admire your ability to do that!! Love what you did with this skirt, the print is so interesting and the cowboy boots are a nice touch. Well done, my friend!!!

This look is so fabulous and chic Nancy! The print and color of the skirt is perfection and glad you ventured out even though you didn’t like light blue on you. The denim topper is perfect with it. Thanks for the link up!

I really like the print of your skirt! I am trying to wear all of my clothes before going thrifting or shopping so it will be a couple more weeks probably unless I feel a need for immediate shopping therapy. I think it’s been almost 2 months!

Love this outfit on you Nancy! The print of your skirt is so eye-catching and fanciful, and it is the perfect fit. I can definitely see why you need four black tea shirts-you wear black a lot and there are so many different styles to choose from. Hope you have a good weekend and thanks for sharing and the link up!

When a skirt fits that well, you pair it with every color that looks good on you. Seriously, it will go with them all!!

That is such a cool skirt—I love the print, and I can understand how you didn’t want to pass it up. And that’s exactly what I do when I want to wear a color that doesn’t look great with my skin: keep it as far away from my face as possible! 🙂

I totally get the idea of buying four black tee shirts at the same time. They’re all different and will be worn for different things. I loved this skirt when I saw it on Instagram, but I didn’t notice the waistband! That is such a striking detail! Have a fabulous weekend, and thanks for the link up!

That skirt is giving me 1986 vibes! I used to have a top/bottom coord set in orange/black/white back then! I don’t look good in light blue either, Nancy – just wear it away from your face.

This is such a great way to wear a color that isn’t good against your face. i usually just skip that color because I’ve decided I don’t like it even though I do!

Haha, yes but that would be such a pitty. Just wear it as a bottom!
