![9 favorite things of mine](https://nancysfashionstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/favorite-things-collage.jpg)
I thought it would be fun to write a post about my random favorite things. Just for the fun of it! (and perhaps you are a bit tired of seeing my outfits haha!)
So here are 9 of my favorite things!
- Favorite animal: Cats. From the moment I left the house, when I was 19, I have always had cats. Gerben was not used to cats so he had to get used to it when we started living together. I think it took him a week. Then he moved aside on the couch to give the cat a better space! We have had Mainecoons for years.
- Favorite drink: Espresso martini! Oh man that’s so delicious! But I also love a good ice coffee and Aperol Spritz.
- Favorite country: Well, it’s not difficult: England. Gosh, what would I like to live there. I think Brighton is my favorite city. The feeling of being homesick when we have not been for a while is terrible. But as a holiday destination we also loved Lanzarote and Ibiza.
- Favorite car: I like big cars. I would prefer to drive a Mustang or a Jaguar. But I’m also very satisfied with our Mercedes.
- Favorite film: Pulp Fiction. Brilliant! Anyway I am a fan of all Quentin Tarantino films. And I love horror and thrillers, with candy! You can’t watch a good horror without candy!
- Favorite music: The Cure! That is my number one band! From when I was 14. When I first heard A Forrest on the radio I thought, perhaps life gets better. Yes, I was such a 14 year old….
- Favorite date: I love to spend the day with Gerben at a Zoo and have dinner afterwards in a Azian(of course) restaurant. In the UK there are a lot of Wildlife parks, they are the best!
- Favorite accessories: That would be the necklace that Gerben gave me when we were 6 months together. It’s the one I am wearing now for 27 years!
- Favorite life: Mine! And I can tell you it’s not a easy one! But I have a small but good family and in-laws, fabulous friends and the most wonderful partner!
I would really appreciate it if you would share my outfit on Pinterest! Just hoover over the photo!
My favorite of last week is: Jill James of Grown-up Glamour. I think she always looks so cool and she wears the best gloves!![Fancy Friday favorite](https://nancysfashionstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Fancy-Friday-Favorite.gif)

Yes it is! I only replaced the little heart because one of the cats chew on it!
What a lovely post Nancy and so nice to know your favourite things! Appreciate family and yes, Brighton!!!!! Where were you in that shot – on the wheel thing???? Have you been on the Brighton i360? Mr F has but not me – heights!!!! Have a lovely weekend x
Author
The Eye( wheel thing) was in Brighton a few years ago. Haha, so funny that I know that and someone who is living in Brighton does not. Yes I have been twice in the i360. Last year for the second time because we brought my dad and his wife with us to the UK. It’s not scary Penny, it’s beautiful.
It was lovely reading about your 9 fav things. I’m allergic to cats, but I love them to bits. I love dogs too, but I prefer cats. What I like about cats is they have such distinct personalities, and some of them are so smart. I kept cats in the past despite my allergy. Once our neighbour’s cat decided to move in with us. We kept her in a basement ( or better to say she kept herself there, there was a hole in the basement door and one day she just moved in…funny thing she was, when it would snow she refused to come out of the basement). It is good your partner got used to living with cats so quickly, I’m sure that was good news for you as a cat lover. I really like the necklace you showed too. England is a country I yet have to visit, despite the fact that I have worked as an English language teacher (now that the summer has started, my contract with the school has just ended but I might work as one next school year as well). I voted for you in the Netherlands blog contest btw (at least I think I did). We don’t have zoos in Mostar, but I’d love to visit a zoo again some time. It is a good date option for animal lovers.
Life with a chronic illness isn’t easy. I assumed that you had some kind of lung problem when I saw the oxygen tubes in your last post and now I read about it on your about page. I have Chron’s disease and sometimes it can be a real struggle. I have to take a lot of medication and I constantly feel tired….but on the upper side, having a chronic illness can make us appreciate just how fragile life is and see that what really matters is love and kindness.
Author
I like your attitude lady! Thanks for voting! I appreciate that a lot! But living with Chron’s disease isn’t easy at all. I knew someone who had Chron’s disease. But you have the right spirit and that will get you anywhere! Thanks for your lovely comment!
It’s fun to learn these things about you. Have a great weekend

Thanks Gail! Have a great weekend!
I like when someone shares very personal facts about their lives, especially if you can see some similarities between theirs and yours. I couldn’t help but smiling when I read that you like big cars and would like to drive a Jag. My husband drives one of these long old classics and I have small x-type. I hate driving his, try to do parallel reverse parking and love mine. Thank you for sharing
Author
Oh that is fantastic! I always wanted a Jag! And the x-type are my favorites!
Aw, Nancy! I love this post! I might need to try an espresso martini! Maybe it will replace the wine through a straw!

Love this post and hearing about all your favorite things! I used to be a dog lover but now I love cats because my husband has them. The Cure is amazing and I love that you love your own life best. More people should feel that way!

So nice to read more about you and your favourite things! I’d love to have cats, I am more of a dog person but every time the animal shelter we adopted our dog from asks for people to foster cats I always think I’d like to give it a go…sadly our pup doesn’t like cats much, haha!
Thank you for the link up!
Hope you’re having a great week and have a nice weekend ahead of you 🙂

You should visit England, it’s so beautiful!
What a nice post, Nancy! It’s fun getting to know you a bit better through some of your favourite things. We’ve got several in common, cats and England are two of them. But you knew that last one, didn’t you! I love how you mention that you love your life, even if it has not always been easy for you. Being happy in your own skin is so important. I greatly admire your attitude, Nancy! xxx

Your cats are absolutely gorgeous. I’m a total cat person too but it was my husband that enticed me to them when we were young. I was always scared of them LOL. Now I just adore them!
